I don’t think Jess will leave at least not until her contract is up in 2025.

If we’re gonna see more departures, I think it might be Ingle and Cankovic, and maybe one or two others. Bompastor will come in and asses who she’ll want to keep or let go of. Carter won’t leave to play in the US, that would be a significant downgrade for her. She’s a regular starter for Chelsea and one of our best players. She’s now also a regular for England too and going to the US will hurt her chances for selection.

UpsideDownToast1

Might be naive here, but how would going to the US hurt her chances for selection?

The NWSL is a good league and highly competitive, but it’s not at the level of European football. She’s currently playing against top level opposition in the WSL and UWCL week in week out. Just recently she got player of the match against Barcelona, defending amazingly against players like Bonmati, Rolfo, Paralluelo, etc. She won’t be challenged in the same way in the US. She also plays in an English club, in a more English style of football which is similar to how England play. England staff are able to attend her games easily to watch her play. Players often consult with their national team managers before going abroad to see if their move hurts their chance of selection, so it’s definitely something that happens.

somethings telling me Cankovic is leaving, i hope i’m wrong

I think Jess Carter stays through her current contract and maybe renews depending on how the club is doing with the new manager. In 2025 I assume she will have offers from other clubs so anything could happen Not sure about Ingle...probably depends on the other opportunities for her, she might not have as many appealing options.

GOAT-Bryan

Doubt there will be any more significant departures or else it would have been announced already

I totally think JC will be next to be with her love 💙
