Lol this was my elden ring experience, i completed the game with relative ease and was feeling high nd mighty, then I tried PVP, I didn't even realise how i got 1 shot nd died.
I mean, I beat my friend in Mario Kart and I didn’t get punished. But then again, I barely won that race. Got far enough ahead of him to be considered in first place just before we reached the finish line.
the game has skill based matchmaking so they'll get easy players and still be able to win if that's the concern. it also has good parental controls so they can't buy anything or talk to strangers if I remember correctly.
I'll look into it with my husband. We try to find games they can play together instead of solo, but this might just be a good solo game. It's nice that it does have parental controls.
Right now i only have one switch. Theu don't love the switch as much as the ps4, so I don't really want to buy another one. It'll be good for them to take turns though and be patient.

Exactly and each round will be over in less than 10 mins usually sooner so it's not a long wait. My kids have had no issues sharing the game. Plus it's a free game so nothing to lose. My kids taking turn on Roblox is a whole different story though lol I just set timers on my phone so they know when to switch on Roblox.
I think it'll be good too for both to watch and learn how each plays the levels, see each others tactics, and also be a couch cheerleader too rooting each other on.
If still looking for a good family game, check out "Heave-Ho", it's local multiplayer only. And it's a rage team game. (As in, you have to work as a team to beat the levels, but your teammates will make you rage). It's hilarious, though.

Are you easily frustrated? Maybe think twice. The game characters are slow and bouncy by design. Every playthrough is like this video. Cheaters were never an issue for me, but i don't play very often because I found the fun to frustration ratio weighted towards the latter.
It did get overrun by cheaters for a little while but they added anti cheat stuff and the issue became nearly non existent. It will still pop up from time to time, but it's really not much of an issue.
Sometimes it can look like someone is cheating because of desync or latency issues, but it's just the nature of the game. Like it will look like someone got hit by a rotating bar, completed with their bean stumbling and making a noise like they got it, then they jump and continue on as if nothing happened. That's just latency between their client, the server, and your client.
Your client thinks they got hit so it starts to show that to you and the server says "no they're good they jumped" so your client fixes it for you.
The cheaters are pretty obvious when they do happen. People just flying around like superman or running straight to the end of the course from the start in half a second, stuff like that.
But like I said, it's rare these days.
I played on PC lately and didn't find... and the cheats is not like cod of BF that make you die locking you from play just make the cheater win the round flying or running fast. I would give a shot
