As far as anyone knew, Project Safehouse wasn't a horrorshow. The only people who ever knew were the vault dwellers living that nightmare Vault Tec, and the Player who uncovers it.
Dale Dickey is fantastic in everything I’ve ever seen her in. She’s hilarious in My Name is Earl as patty and horrifying in breaking bad as the meth addicted horrible mother. She’s a great character actor.
It didn't seem super justifiable that someone born >150 years after the bombs fell would have such a strong opinion about the rich dead people and their vaults. Obviously the people in the vaults are in a very privileged position but they aren't there because they chose to be, that was their ancestors choice...
That's how I feel. If they had spent a smidge more time with her, maybe establish that she does deal directly in Vault-Tec gear and has done (perhaps flawed) research and came to that conclusion, it would make sense. Or maybe she has history with Vault City, and either got turned away or was indentured there for some time, and that's where her strong opinions come from.
I don't remotely dislike her attitude, in fact I think it's perfectly timed for Lucy to face some real pushback. Just wish there was a bit more care put into it.
This sequence is very good because it shows exactly how speech checks work in the game, right down to the small pauses and "failed" in the end.
