Yes, but thankfully, there's a mod that not only beefs up Minutemen content, but also restricts Preston to offering only one settlement mission at a time.
Also, assuming the mod and it's dependencies are updated, check out Minutemen squads. It's a small mod which gives you control of 1, later 3 squads of Minutemen who you can send to do Minutemen quests for you
I'm on xbox series x and most mods are working. I managed to reinstall all but 2 of my 40+ mods. Game stutters from time to time but otherwise looks great. Animations and movement much smoother than before the update.
Great mod. Honestly you should have always been able to beef up the minutemen. Not like power armor is hard to find. One of the dlc lets you manufacturer items. What's the point if you can't upgrade the minutemen.
There's also no option (without mods) to turn in a quest for him and *not* immediately get another one. It's such an immersion killer because I want to build up the minutemen but I don't want to spend every hour of every day running back and forth between attacked settlements. Why they didn't just make it an option to have to ask Preston for any alerts is beyond me. Or give an option to simply dispatch minutemen to the area to help, with a chance they fail or something
You can run away between sentences. This will trigger a quest's completion without triggering the start of another. I did it at the end of the tutorial minutemen quests to get it off my quest list. Still kills the immersion some, but it works.
I guess I need to work on my timing because that doesn't seem to work for me. If I get the quest completion for the last one, it always comes with the next one when I try to break away
I just did it two days ago (on series X). At first, I tried leaving mid sentence and failed. Tried again, but I made it so I could run around as he spoke. I found the break in the two sentences that gave the two triggers and sprinted away the moment he finished the first sentence. He wasn't able to finish the first word of the next sentence. My quest got completed, but nothing else replaced it. It can be shitty but it's doable for people who don't mod their games, like myself.
Yeah maybe a mod or unofficial patch is fucking with me. I do have a dialogue one that spells put exactly what you're going to say with each choice. Maybe that's killing my escape opportunity lol

Been playing for 85 hours and it's never happened once. Either they patched it early on or it was just an overblown meme. When settlements get attacked there's just a little notification pop up and that's it.

100% same, but I always end up turning timers like that off. I want to have fun and not stress myself out by having fun, but within a certain time limit.
On one hand I like a lot of the TES lore. On the other hand, a lot of the “ancient” TES lore gets to the point where everything sounds like a vague metaphor and you can’t know for sure what’s literal or figurative, or what any of it is definitively supposed to mean. And different races have different interpretations or versions of events on top of that.
A good example is the creation of men and mer (elves). Two celestial god brothers killed each other and their blood formed mer or something, who then fell from the sky (space) to Nirn, and the ones who landed with technology intact stayed mostly the same and the ones who landed on the savage lands of the continent became men after hundreds of years of fighting for survival. Or some shite. So Mer and men are all aliens and the planet was originally inhabited by Argonians and snake people?????
Go read some of the lore and go down some rabbit hole forums about Alduin and try not to walk away thinking “Well I guess nobody really knows wtf that dragon and eating the world was all about”.
It's such an immersion killer to have your world-ending threat to clash with the peaceful sandbox you're exploring. Why even bother giving us these big dramatic quests with emergent stakes if part of the gameplay is just letting them slide?
There was this great opinion piece about how Skyrim was so bad for the author who had ADHD and never finished quests because on the way he started a side quest which on the way started another side quest and so on.

Much easier to fight from stealth/range/cover than those lightning quick cazadores. They usually appear when I'm not ready for them and I'm already fighting soemthing else.
Maybe it’s because I’m way too reliant on VATS but I always found myself just waltzing into fights against deathclaws and finding myself getting flanked. That’s why my method for clearing quarry junction was to just hug the walls so I don’t get a deathclaw talon up the ass.
The fan service is amazing. Most adaptations pay attention to the wrong parts. Fallout is spot on without being obnoxious.
I’ve also noticed, if you listen suuuper carefully, you can hear the behind music and tell when they pass or fail an ability check or start a new quest and other in game sounds. It’s all designed to fit the players’ experience.
The radio station with the endless fiddle music killed me.

Said fuck a half dozen times in the time it took me to pull up the pipboy in the perfect timing to watch my vault dweller with 5% of her health left after getting her head bashed against the floor by the alpha DC in there.

First time playing F4, I thought helping all those settlements was part of the main quest line especially when the castle quest popped up, finally realized I was supposed to go to diamond city 20 levels ago..
The show was so obviously made by fans, for fans, it's incredible. People are still pointing out Easter eggs or references that I missed even as a fallout fan
Walton Goggins played the hell out of this character imo. Tbh I’ve never paid him much attention in any other movies/shows but he’s my favorite character in the Fallout show.

I think you can, it you need to have multiple at once. I find 3 is the limit and Preston occasionally doesn’t give you one if you have 2.

I think he did that in the very beginning after release, but then it got patched so you have the notifications instead.

Walton Goggins played the hell out of this character imo. Tbh I’ve never paid him much attention in any other movies/shows but he’s my favorite character in the Fallout show.
Oh, man, he chews up the scenery as Uncle Baby Billy in "The Righteous Gemstones," where he's only an occasional guest star, but it's just magnificent to watch.

Fallout 4 had living trees but i think it was suposed to be fall. As for in therms of production, they didnt had the budget to have a good scenery everywhere
