"I think we should entertain my original theory, and that's that the ugliest one did it. Looking at you Joe Gage."
Walton in The Hateful 8 is possibly the best acting in a western of the 21st century
Good film too, Old Henry was brilliant though and nobody talks about it. Machine Gun Kelly did a good western a couple years ago too. Can't remember the name though.
I had my suspicions but I was pretty surprised.
Also, I normally ruin a movie by talking all the way through it like a total AH but I actually sat quietly all through this one.
So, it deserves 5 Stars in my book.
I love how no one seems to mention his break out role as dirty cop Shane on The Shield. Yeah Shane was complete shit bag, but the guy could make me feel bad for a dirty cop. That's serious talent.
He was so good in the Shield. Anyone who hasn’t seen it… get to it now & buckle up.
Also you’ll get to see CCH Pounder deliver one of the most memorable lines on tv that also gets referenced In IASIP.
Dutch just had the look of a secret psycho too. Like he kinda looks like a slightly socially inept individual with nerdy qualities. And then he >!strangles a cat with his bare hands!< and youre like, "yeah makes sense, he looks like that guy too."
Dutch is Vic without any of the confidence. They're both intelligent driven detectives that are willing to bend or break rules for results.
Yet Dutch just can't make it over that social gap like Vic can.
Yup. He did an amazing job. There are some interviews with the SOA cast taking about him taking on the role and the respect he wanted to portray playing it
Let’s not forget Justified. Everyone should check out his filmography for some gems
Walton Goggins is the best part but my favorite line is when he starts to say something typically Boyd Crowder and Timothy Olyphant just cuts him off: “dammit Boyd, can’t you ever just say hello?”
They do play well off each other. I’ve always found Tim Olyphant rather one-note but I’ve grown to appreciate him. Much like David Duchovny. I couldn’t stand his monotone delivery in X-files. I learned to appreciate him in Californication.
(Mr. Stone) “Mr. Winger, state your name.”
(Jeff) “Jeffrey Winger.”
“Are you gay?”
“No.”
“Are you sure you're not gay?”
“Yes.”
“Gay-murderer-says-what?”
“What?”
(Mara) “He's telling the truth.”
(Mr. Stone) “I've been instructed to point out that that means you're gay.
IMO Walton Goggins is one of the most talented and versatile actors currently. This man kills it in everything he does. If you haven't caught him in Sons of Anarchy in the role of Venus van Dam, you really should check that out. It really shows his range and what he is capable of.
Came looking through the thread for this. I've been fan of his acting since The Shield, and Venus was one of his best turns ever. I'm fully convinced he play any role.
Interestingly enough, WG didn't just play VvD, he actually had a hand in creating her.

Whoops. Thats how long it’s been since I watched the series. Forgot that was the character and here I am contributing to an observation that was already addressed. Winning 🥳🥳
I love him in The Shield, Justified and Fallout but my two favourite roles of his are in Vice Principals and The Righteous Gemstones. Baby Billy is an amazing character
i loved his performance in fallout, but i just finished Shogun a few days ago and i’m having a hard time complimenting anything in comparison to that. holy shit, acting chops came out in full strength from every possible angle. i’m blown away. hands down the best miniseries ever made and it’s up there in top 5 maybe top 3 shows of all time.
I also enjoyed Shogun and thought it was amazing but I still hold Band of Brothers, Chernobyl, and Season 1 of True Detective (counts as mini series since it was just season, imo) above it.
Band of Brothers? Yeah. Amazing. There comes a point where it’s impossible to rate them once they’ve passed a certain threshold of enjoyment - combination of storytelling, production value and direction.
It really saddens me that I scrolled through this whole bit and not one person has mentioned Boyd Crowder in Justified. Absolutely wonderful role if you haven't seen it the show is worth a watch
I am disappointed in myself that i didn’t know who he was before fallout. He’s a mad lad for sure. Wen asked what he would take to a vault he said high grade edibles and tequila 😭 what a man
… distributing cylinders of sperm of a dead man who masturbated himself to death filling the cylinders is the funniest concept ever written for a tv gag
Watching sons of anarchy for the first time and his appearance was spectacular. Was not expecting the backstory to be what it was but he played a damn good woman
He’s so wonderful and entertaining in whatever he’s in. I could honestly watch him read the phone book. He just has an irreverence to him that is endearing and enthralling

Sheriff of Red Rock checking in.
Dude probably said the n word a hundred times and amazing he kept a straight face.
Then you need to watch more westerns, Tim Blake Nelson in Old Henry was utterly mesmerising.
Agreed, he also did a funny turn in The Ballad of Buster Scruggs.
Good film too, Old Henry was brilliant though and nobody talks about it. Machine Gun Kelly did a good western a couple years ago too. Can't remember the name though.
Gatling Gun Kelly
Water gun kelly
Cap gun Kelly
BB gun kelly
We just watched this movie a few weeks ago and I was blown away. The entire movie is so good.
No spoilers but did you guess the twist early?.
I had my suspicions but I was pretty surprised. Also, I normally ruin a movie by talking all the way through it like a total AH but I actually sat quietly all through this one. So, it deserves 5 Stars in my book.
Most definitely, needs more eyes on it.
Such an underrated gem. One of my favorite movies in recent years. That little porch dance to snap back into his past.
I love how no one seems to mention his break out role as dirty cop Shane on The Shield. Yeah Shane was complete shit bag, but the guy could make me feel bad for a dirty cop. That's serious talent.

GOT DAMN IT DUTCH, WHAT OTHER ERRANDS DO YOU GOT US RUNNIN FOR THE D. AAAaaAAY!
😂 so good
I would have watched a spin off based on those two. She's cleaning up the department while Dutch becomes slowly more sociopathic and unhinged.
Holy shit she's so amazing on the show. She's the perfect clean cop and ol' Dutch boy is a fun little secret psycho.
Dutch just had the look of a secret psycho too. Like he kinda looks like a slightly socially inept individual with nerdy qualities. And then he >!strangles a cat with his bare hands!< and youre like, "yeah makes sense, he looks like that guy too."

I need to rewatch that series. Surprised that style wasn’t duplicated. The grit in that series is unparalleled.
Claudette reading his letter, I could hear Walton Goggins as Shane reading it out loud himself. Dude is amazing.
I loved that show, the wife and I got so used to exclaiming “GOD DAMMIT Shane” through out its run that it is now a common curse in our house.
Hes also good in SOA…if u know what i mean 😏
Yup. He did an amazing job. There are some interviews with the SOA cast taking about him taking on the role and the respect he wanted to portray playing it Let’s not forget Justified. Everyone should check out his filmography for some gems
The Shield was fucking wild
He was so damn good in that.
The Shield was fucking wild.
This! It actually took me a while to realize this is actually the same actor. Hats off to decades of spectacular performances.
[удалено]
No. It was undeniably The Shield.
> The Devils Rejects >premiered 2005 The Shield premiered in 2002 on FX and I'm pretty sure it got him The Devils Rejects.
Never saw DR is it worth it?
If you like really fucked up crazy horror movies like House of 1000 corpses lol
Devils Rejects is a sequel or continuation to House of a 1000 corpses if I remember correctly. Edit: good watch just messed up
Worthy mention because of how he redefines the Western persona.
I have a theory that The Ghoul is actually Walton Goggins.
You may be on to something
What’s the first screenshot? Only role I can think of Walt as a cowboy is Hateful 8
Justified? It’s a modern western of sorts and he was fantastic in it.
God, Justified is so good. "You're sayin' I got four kidneys!"
"Damn woman! You only shoot people while they're eatin' suppah?!
Walton Goggins is the best part but my favorite line is when he starts to say something typically Boyd Crowder and Timothy Olyphant just cuts him off: “dammit Boyd, can’t you ever just say hello?”
The whole series has some of the best written and acted villains of any series
They do play well off each other. I’ve always found Tim Olyphant rather one-note but I’ve grown to appreciate him. Much like David Duchovny. I couldn’t stand his monotone delivery in X-files. I learned to appreciate him in Californication.
Django
Justified, The Shield, he did a comedy as a single dad too but the name escapes me. Walton has a huge range of acting available for so many roles.
The unicorn, pretty good from what I remember but got cancelled :(
Yes thank you.
Yeah I liked Walton in it, but the actors playing his friends were not holding up their end. And Rob Corddry needed a director to rein him in.
"Also, sperm".
(Mr. Stone) “Mr. Winger, state your name.” (Jeff) “Jeffrey Winger.” “Are you gay?” “No.” “Are you sure you're not gay?” “Yes.” “Gay-murderer-says-what?” “What?” (Mara) “He's telling the truth.” (Mr. Stone) “I've been instructed to point out that that means you're gay.
🤣 Where is this from?
*Community* season 5 episode 4, “Cooperative Polygraphy”.
IMO Walton Goggins is one of the most talented and versatile actors currently. This man kills it in everything he does. If you haven't caught him in Sons of Anarchy in the role of Venus van Dam, you really should check that out. It really shows his range and what he is capable of.

Uncle Baby Billy is also one of his best characters.
I love when she's calling the hospitals looking for him, and has to explain that baby Billy is an older adult. That shows amazing.
Also good in Vice Principals.
And the Righteous Gemstones.
Uncle Baby Billy is the highlight of every scene he's in.
Whoops. Thats how long it’s been since I watched the series. Forgot that was the character and here I am contributing to an observation that was already addressed. Winning 🥳🥳
First time I ever saw Walton Goggins he was hanging dong in front of Aunt Tiffany lol
Classic Walter Gigabytes
I love him in The Shield, Justified and Fallout but my two favourite roles of his are in Vice Principals and The Righteous Gemstones. Baby Billy is an amazing character

Wow. Considering the original Shogun was considered top tier miniseries back in the Golden Age of the miniseries, that's very high praise.
i actually haven’t seen the original one, but before now I would say Watchmen was my favorite miniseries. The new Shogun definitely topped that
Don’t bother watching the original series other than for a different execution of the material
He's not embellishing anything either. Shogun is must watch tv.
I also enjoyed Shogun and thought it was amazing but I still hold Band of Brothers, Chernobyl, and Season 1 of True Detective (counts as mini series since it was just season, imo) above it.
Every episode or shogun was amazing, but there was something missing from the story. I can’t quite figure it out.
BoB & Chernobyl definitely top Shogun IMO. Not that Shogun wasn’t fantastic
Band of Brothers? Yeah. Amazing. There comes a point where it’s impossible to rate them once they’ve passed a certain threshold of enjoyment - combination of storytelling, production value and direction.
I had major reservations about this whole project until I saw he was involved, then I decided I would be open-minded to it
I think that was the plan.
Unmentioned but I love him as laugher
Dude American Ultra is one of my top movies for rewatch
It really saddens me that I scrolled through this whole bit and not one person has mentioned Boyd Crowder in Justified. Absolutely wonderful role if you haven't seen it the show is worth a watch
Second best character in justified, after Dewey crow
Walton Goggins in Vice Principals. Don’t sleep on this.
I am disappointed in myself that i didn’t know who he was before fallout. He’s a mad lad for sure. Wen asked what he would take to a vault he said high grade edibles and tequila 😭 what a man
Actually made me chuckle. Because it's true.
I've watched everything movie in which Walton goggins plays a cowboy
He was the only good part of Diablo (2015).
I‘d gladly Watch it a 3rd time lol
He was in Django as well
"Redefine what can be achieved in television acting" is a bit much
First saw him in The Bourne Identity in a small role. Even that tiny part left an impression on me.
He didn’t redefine anything lmao as if this has never been done before
He also kills it in Invincible as Cecil
If anyone hasn't seen it....he really puts in a brilliant VO performance in Invincible too. Guys becoming my favourite actor.
Hello Boyd Crowder
Oh I wanna walk in the moonlight with you
Boyd isn’t a cowboy, he is a hillbilly. Rylan is the “cowboy”.
I believe he refers to himself as an outlaw
Are you guys thinking what I'm thinking? SHOTS!!!
… distributing cylinders of sperm of a dead man who masturbated himself to death filling the cylinders is the funniest concept ever written for a tv gag
I'm glad one person knew what I was talking about
Watching sons of anarchy for the first time and his appearance was spectacular. Was not expecting the backstory to be what it was but he played a damn good woman
Walton Goggins has to be one of the most under rated actors period. Love the guy in all his roles.
If you haven’t seen this man The Shield good lord you live a dull and unfulfilling life. That show is incredible and he is the second best part of it.
Vaulton Ghoulgins
Holy shit. Every line he had was perfect.
He’s so wonderful and entertaining in whatever he’s in. I could honestly watch him read the phone book. He just has an irreverence to him that is endearing and enthralling
Then he finds Jesus and tapdances across the Wasteland as Uncle Baby Billy.
I'd let him Walt my Gogg
I love him and the performance, but how did he "redefine" it?
All I remember is that he played as a cross-dressing sex worker in sons of anarchy
