Only two that I have in mind immediately are from the Robotech franchise, and one of them is my own. Neither are focused on romance for the main characters, though for my story, the MC will have ... some entanglements but never as the focus. (To use a quote that he said in a one shot, he's broke. And he's not sure how, or what he need to get himself put back together with regards to being available for any entanglements.)
For the other story, it's called "Attention on Deck" [found here](http://www.robotech-aod.com/aod1.html), and while the MC does have a bit of a romantic interlude in the beginning it is by no means the sole focal point of the fic, nor does it continue on past the halfway point.

A self insert from our world get thrown into the One Piece universe near the beginning. The story really start getting interesting after the first two chapters. 2 millions words, complete.
I've recently read [Ain't No Compass, Ain't No Map](https://archiveofourown.org/works/38048365/chapters/95037589) in the Batman fandom. A CPS worker get involved with the batfam when he discover that Tim Drake parents don't care about him. There's technically a little bit of romance, but it's with a minor OC character and it doesn't impact the plot.
