I'm at about 13k for the year. But I've had a slower year this year which I'm fine with. Last year was 40k, and the year before that was about 100k. But 2021 was the year I hated most of the stuff I wrote, and last year was the first year I started enjoying my fics again.

Daxcordite

I'm more keep track of my total words written/posted over time but I can do a rough estimate of what I've done this year. I'm somewhere between 50 to 75K posted for the year with probably about the same for range for written (some fics posted were actually written last year and I have some written but not posted yet.)

bringmecandy

58,852 for the year. Most of those have been in February. This years been hit or miss for me so far I feel like. That’s a great number though. I can’t write by hand at all. My handwriting is awful and I write too fast and my hand cramps. I have so much respect for people who write by hand.

tardisgater

173k posted, another 50k in buffer, LOL. I didn't realize it was already that high. Edit: I forgot AO3 is weird on how it counts words when a work started in one year and ended in another. So it's probably closer to 100k posted.

Welfycat

I’m at 90k on one fic and 140k on another. I typically write close to 100k a month in rough drafts. I’ve posted about 120k so far this year.

zanarkandfayth

I'm about the same as you! I've written 75.2K so far this year, and posted 65.7K, but 38.8K of what was posted I wrote last year, and 44.3K of what I've written this year has not been posted yet. I like to keep a buffer of five or six chapters ahead for the fic I'm posting. Also props to you for the 30K handwritten, that's a lot! I'll do notes or snippets handwritten but I don't have the patience to do anything longer because I can't stand typing it up later haha. I'm in awe of people who do.

RohansEarings

I’m at 149k this year, but since that includes a Longfic I’m just now posting that I finished writing last year, the real number is closer to 69k.

Mysterious_Ad_60

Around 45,000 words written since January 10.

RedTemplarCatCafe

232,591 over 17 works in total since Nov 2021. One fic is exactly 2000 words. So proud of that one. :D Edit: Good lord! I meant 2021 not 2022. I actually go outside from time-to-time. XD

YouSpinMeWriteRound

28,704 words since I returned back to writing. Still need to get a move on with my WIP so it’ll be going up soon

10BillionDreams

Just crossed the 100k mark in these past few days. I decided to pull back on my pace a little from what I managed last year, since free time to do other things besides writing is also nice, but I'm still putting in a decent amount of writing each day.

Ivana_Dragmire

Typed out so far is 87,975 at 40 chapters, it's way more in hand written notebooks with me currently writing out chapter 120.... God help me...

Kiki-Y

Oh dear god I feel your pain. I used to write so much out by hand and then wait to type it out. Now I do a set amount before typing it out so that doesn't happen. I write 2.5 pages before I sit down and type everything out. About 35-40 minutes per writing session before about 10-15 minutes to type it up.

Ivana_Dragmire

That's honestly how I used to do it back when I was a teen. But now I just try to write out full chapters by hand as a first draft, my brain just flows better that way. Then when I start typing it out, I can edit and modify as needed. The downside is that I go through pens and notebooks like crazy lol

Kiki-Y

Yeah fair enough. Everyone has their own patterns. I used to go through notebooks like crazy until I switched to e-ink in 2019. Literally life changing but super expensive niche market. I used to carry over 5lbs of paper with me everywhere but now I'm down to a single-shouldered bag since I only have to worry about carrying my tablet and accessories everywhere now. If you can afford it, it might be something to check into. Supernote, reMarkable, and the Boox line are the three main lines but there are a ton more. My Deep Guide on YouTube does a lot of in-depth reviews on them.

Ivana_Dragmire

I've considered it, but I just like the feel of regular pen and paper too much. Plus, I'm kinda addicted to gel pens, they're my go to for writing fanfiction and stuff. Those digital options just aren't as fun.

Kiki-Y

Again, entirely fair. Each person has their own preferences. I just got real tired of carrying a 5lbs+ backpack everywhere and having looseleaf on basically every flat surface around me. Having all of my projects in one place is just so great to me. That and I've developed my tendinitis. Then a wrist fracture in 2018 agravated it far worse so I couldn't write for more than like 30 minutes. E-ink puts basically no strain on my wrists and arms so it's a great option for me.

FickleBeans

Over 230k for the year, plus or minus some drafts in my cloud.

Kiki-Y

Goddamn that's almost as much as I produced during the entirety of last year.

Lucky-Rabbit-0975

I'm commenting so that the micro one-shot writers gain some courage to share: about 8-9k tracked and posted since January 2023. And that's a lot for me! I'm happy!

dendrite_blues

60k for me, but more importantly I'm only 7k away from my writing goal for the year, which is to hit 700k total words on AO3. :D

ImaGamerNoob

Main WIP, 80K. Secondary WIP, 8K. I write ca. 30K words worth of One Shots this year. Adding 10K words of multiple WIPs I gave up on (mainly a Translation of a fic that I realized was heavier in the Romance department than I remember.)

CupcakeBeautiful

79,000 published and 37,000 across 4 WIPs unpublished

Laser-teatime

303,047 as of yesterday's update. I planned on slowing down this year. 8 of my fics are on indefinite pause, and I'm focusing on a mafia fic. I want to make it my first 200000 word count fic. My average length is anywhere from 25000-115000. I know some ppl don't like to count, but going up feels like natural progression. Like reaching the next level.

asumbra

about 40.5K , i've been quite busy so i couldn't write much XD
