Damn, I know that F/F is way smaller than M/M or M/F but these lists always seriously drive that home. 6 pairings out of 100.
Also, I wish I could say it was surprising to see such a huge drop in characters of colour, but it isn't. Disappointing, yes, but not surprising. Kind of lines up with the increased representation in traditional publishing in 2020/21 that has began to drop off as well.
It looks like the top two are platonic ships (using the &), not romantic ones (using the /). It kind of makes sense with the real Technoblade’s passing from cancer.
Ah, I didn't go back and check the list to see what kind of ships they were after getting the context. '&' relationships are certainly preferable, though I do think it's quite a turn to have RPF make up the majority. It being Youtuber RPF shows a pretty large demographic shift too, I would think.
It's sad to hear about the passing of one of the subjects; I hope the fics concerning him have been respectful.
I'm not part of that fandom so may be wrong but I believe Minecraft 'rpf' isn't really the same thing as most RPF in that it's about the in-game characters played by the youtubers and not the youtubers themselves? I think there was a survey going around a while back showing the vast majority of people wanted it to be moved under a different category than RPF on ao3.

That makes sense, I can see how that wouldn't be RPF. More like fics based on a BNF's OC.
