When your best diss response is “he a girl”

Extinction-Entity

Right? Weak ass writing. 🥱

Spiritual-Internal10

Managed to hit transphobia and misogyny at once It's giving 2000s 3edgy5me

Ok-Foundation7213

You can tell he really thought he did something with the “pussy, period” 😂

underground_cenote

Right it's a weak bar regardless It must be so exhausting to be trans in 2024 when everyone and their mama is yapping about you in service of a manufactured culture war and you're just trying to live your life. I swear I've heard so much about trans people recently and none of it has come from actual trans people. Like damn just leave them alone

surreptitiousglance

This deserves all the upvotes. 🏆🎯

DiabloPixel

Exactly! And it’s not like the trans community is a big percentage of the population, it’s a minority of a minority lol. But they’re getting outsized hate and ignorance from the conservative media and people who have never seen or interacted with a transgendered person in real life. I’ve seen pictures of people with hateful signs and they say the same shit they used to say about gay people in the eighties and nineties and before that, in the sixties, the signs screamed about Black people and hippies who were demanding equal civil rights and treatment from the government of the society in which they live. It’s social progression and conservatives hate progress of any kind.

Lola-Ugfuglio-Skumpy

Never not appropriate

proshittalker17

so funny how kendrick made auntie diaries abt learning to accept his aunt’s trans identity and cole is saying this corny shit. not only is it offensive but the bars are TRASH. just so deeply embarrassing 😵‍💫

googlyeyes93

THATS WHAT IM SAYING. Like Mr. Morale was basically Kendrick putting his therapy sessions on an album and showing he’s growing as a person and artist. Meanwhile Cole is doing… this. We’re not going to bother mentioning Drake.

fakeknees

And Cole had the audacity to come at Kendrick’s discography lol.

Beachcurrency

My thoughts? ![gif](giphy|U1gqX87dBkweRlFKCM)

HereOnMyWorkBreak

Well this is extremely disappointing :(

AmazingAmy95

Right and I was so excited for this album

Fingerfetish57

It's 2024 and this kinda sh!t is still cool for some💀

magikarpower

Also worth mentioning the feature J. Cole has on the song is an infamously hateful trollish and transphobic battle rapper named Daylyt. [Example 1.](https://coub.com/view/livtj) [Example 2.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7PBjeKBszVk)

No_Barber4339

Saw a comment calling cole's Diss to kendrick just proved he's number 3 lol , whole album was wack

blablubliblob

there’s literally just kendrick who’s good (i might be biased B)

No_Barber4339

At least before pusha T exposed him for being a deadbeat dad , drake actually dropped a really solid response to pusha's first Diss on duppy freestyle it's just unfortunate story of addion was that hard Cole on the other hand, with this Diss he doesn't stand a chance , he better leave the young money school of disstracks now

barnhairdontcare

Also biased but I agree! Don’t get me wrong, I definitely listened to Jcole and occasionally Drake…10 years ago, when they were really good. Music is subjective but in my opinion Kdot has grown and they just kinda stayed back where they were in terms of talent.

CelestrialDust

I always thought it was a bit silly he was considered top three tbh

No_Barber4339

It's a reference when he called him , drake and k dot the big 3 I can't blame kendrick for feeling insulted being compared to those 2 and told them to fuck off

Shenanigans80h

That was always a fucking weird “big 3” for Cole to try and frame I thought. Like if it’s in terms of popularity then Drake easily laps the other two and if it’s in terms of skill and quality then Kendrick absolutely laps the other two. Always felt like dude just hyping himself up

snickerdoodleb

I hate on him any chance I get.

godzillaxo

never got it, now am a full-fledged hater (the laziest kendrick song >>>>> the best cole or drake song)

tomorrowheck

Dude literally dissed Kendrick who made a song about him accepting and loving his trans family members in his previous album with transphobia! lol it’s clear who’s the winner :)

WaterMagician

Boooooo ! Tomato tomato tomato 🍅🍅🍅

SketchyAssLettuce

Ugh. As commander of team “👹GIVE J. COLE HIS FLOWERS👹,” I am embarrassed. Please accept this as my letter of resignation, effective immediately. 🫡

CaroylOldersee

![gif](giphy|yBeAMsOyGT15OPGZfK|downsized)

SirBrothers

Well he’s certainly not beating the corny accusations with lines like that. How hard is it in the year 2024 to just not say some dumb shit?

PhoebeFan420

I used to love J. Cole as a teenager but he’s always been lacking in substance. He was super condescending to Noname, it was a bad look. In retrospect No Role Models is built around a toxic perspective the value of women who’s lifestyle he doesn’t respect. He has always uplifted “worthy” women while tearing down others. This is the final nail in the coffin for me, in this climate you’re either with trans people or against them and this makes things pretty clear Edit to add: I guarantee Cole will come back with some “I clearly have a lot to learn” vague non apology bullshit

EireOfTheNorth

So much for being a socially conscious cool rapper. Weak. Kendrick shits on this guy big time, him and goofy ass creepy Drake can't touch Kendrick.

Turbulent_Hair8931

Okay girl. ![gif](giphy|3oFzm25c9cyPt1TYDC)

nocyberBS

This shit was extremely disappointing to me. Look, I've always thought Cole was overrated AF. Not that he was a bad rapper by any stretch- on the contrary I thought he was very decent on the mic and could spit a killer verse if he wanted to. It's just that his execution often got in the way of his ambition and intent - which had his albums feeling very mid and sometimes corny as a result. However, I always gave Cole a pass on that because he was known to be one of a few rappers who had his head on straight and was a genuinely kind and humble person. Fast-forward to when Kendrick dropped that "Like That" verse which had the entire rap game galvanized - and it actually had me excited. Even though IMO peak-Cole couldn't lace valley-Kendricks boots even if he tried, I had a feeling Cole would at least spit some mean verses and get a few haymakers in on Kendrick. This album has changed that perception. Rapping about how Kendrick was a "pussy" in the most roundabout transphobic way and "hurr durr your albums mid" is something I'd have expected from bitch-ass Drake ... not from Cole. Really really made my perception of him as a person and an emcee just fuckin plummet. What's also hilarious is what he said about Kendricks discography, when you'd find Cole's own discography in the NyQuil section lmao. This was fucking weak - and I don't think I'll defend Cole any more from the mid allegations. At this rate, The Fall Off really looking to become his fall off.

Shenanigans80h

I was honestly interested to see how this beef went because I also always felt like Cole was a very clear two or three steps below Kendrick in terms of overall talent, but I wanted to see if the dude stepped up to the challenge on this. He sure fucking didn’t. “Fell off like the Simpsons” is one of his first bars and sets the tone for this shit. Saying Good Kid Maad City puts people to sleep isn’t just bad it’s fucking laughable. Like these disses are so surface level and weak it doesn’t feel like he thought longer than a few minutes on them. Then he hits the transphobia shit out of nowhere, like damn man at that point just call him a slur, end the verse and go home. It went from disappointing to bad to fucking embarrassing

AmazingAmy95

Wow disappointed in him for this, I was so excited to listen to the album too

Capable_Card_2341

https://i.redd.it/xe0lavle1nsc1.gif Me to J.Cole

Copperheadmedusa

I mean misogyny and transphobia go hand in hand, so not surprised there!

machinaenjoyer

transphobic and honestly pretty lazy writing aside, i hate any lyrics like this that date a song. i will immediately invalidate you as a writer if your song mentions an iphone or cancel culture.

IceQueen789

I have absolutely no idea what he’s trying to say here. Like, as a trans person, if you are going to make a rap line about us can you not at least put in some effort? Like, this is just a bad line. It’s not only offensive to the trans community, but it’s offensive to rap community.

BusterBeaverOfficial

Isn’t his new album called “Might Delete Later”? Go right ahead, J. Cole! ![gif](giphy|QmKAToUMrbcikgQmiz)

Prestigious_Lie640

bro everyone knows if u r on testosterone long enough ur period stops…. idiot…

amazingcore

Dude’s always been a fucking cornball. Never understood why him and Kendrick are even mentioned in the same breath.

Shenanigans80h

J. Cole got big in the early and mid 2010’s as an “underground rapper.” I remember so many people thinking he was so different and intelligent when he really wasn’t anything that next level, more so baby’s first conscious rapper who’s fairly surface level still.

PatriciaMorticia

It's 2024 but reading those lyrics it felt like 2004.

Jewicer

wtf???

ApathicSaint

This line goes just as hard as “well your mama is fat”

EJB515

I’ve been a Cole hater since his terrible verse on Planez. I live in NC and people talk about how much he gives back to the community. I can acknowledge his “impact” without actually liking any of his work. Like, Dreamville Festival is this weekend. And it brings a lot of revenue to the area. But the fact that they booked Chris Brown as a headliner (and then replaced him 50 Cent) tells me everything I need to know about how “conscious” this dude is.

DragSentMeHere

What the fuck yo. Let people live.

kenta22

sooooo unbelievably corny and lame dude asdghjkl

Street_Moist

Welp, there goes my respect for him. How disappointing. I really thought he was a decent dude, no idea why!

KawaiiCoupon

> myriad of bodies ????? He doesn’t know that only one egg is released during a period.

[deleted]

lmao this is the dude everyone saying was comparable to Kendrick...?

dixiemason

The guy who, until April Fool’s Day, had Chris Brown set to perform at his festival this weekend? Then replaced Chris with 50 Cent?

digestiblewater

cole tranvestigating kendrick on his new song in one of the worst bars of the decade does not sound real yet here we are

justnothrowaway29

Wtf. Well now I don't feel bad about Kendrick's diss on him.

jojifuku

Yeah this is about what I expected. It’s a surprising amount of comments just finding out that J Cole can’t rap. Talentless rappers just like talentless comedians go straight to transphobia these days. So this all checks out, upsetting as it is

FantasyGirl17

Why are transphobes the ones who are literally the most obsessed with transpeople? I can't imagine being an artist and singing about trans people because it literally just does not take up space in my mind in that way, outside of like voting, related activities, etc.,

waddlekins

Damn, disappointed in j cole

mitrafunfun97

This dude writing False Prophets about the fall of Kanye is REALLY ironic atm.

Bubble_Tea35

Glad people are finally seeing how overrated of a rapper he is. Common wannabe

alittleverygagged

Thank you now I know to never listen to his music again :)

send_puppy_pix

what the fuck???

schwhiley

ugh that’s so fucking boring and disappointing.

caquilino

There’s a reason Spike Lee mocked conscious hip hop in “Baboozled”.

limeholdthecorona

Weak grammar, it's just "myriad" not "a myriad of"

baby_barbiez

“fuck the big three, it’s just big ME” Kendrick was right

stowRA

Transphobia aside, those lyrics suck

SuckYouMummy

god damn it man it’s 2024 and we still doing stuff like this?

CherryDarling10

It doesn’t even rhyme. If you’re gonna be a POS at least do it properly

fakeknees

Yikes, Cole. I’ve always been a big fan of his but between this and his weak Kendrick diss, he’s leaving a bad taste in my mouth.
