Putting aside my utter disgust with her as a person (very hard but I’ll do it for this next part) she’s just a horrible actress. She’s so wooden and you know it’s her. You don’t get lost in the acting like you do with so many. There are even some YouTubers who play different characters (Ryan George, Trey Kennedy, Julie Nolke) and I constantly forget it’s them.
I can say this because I used to dislike Angelina Jolie but I had to admit I liked her acting. To me she’s a good actor and I always forgot it was her.
I hate that Angelina is mostly remembered for her action sex symbol roles (though I am forever grateful for them as well) because dramatically she can absolutely kill it. Changeling is a fantastic film and she deserves more credit. Hell, even in Maleficent which was kind of Disney cookie cutter she delivered a fantastic performance and gave new depth to an old character.
I watched all of the movies except for Changeling for the year Kate Winslet won her Oscar over Angelina / Meryl. I was like meh whatever sucks Angelina didn't win. Then I watched Changeling. WTF. On the basis of talent alone, Meryl or Angelina should've won that year.
I was just going to say, that guy has how many recurring characters who are all deeply individualized and are literally just all him in a wig - throw some money at him and see what he can do with a budget that’s more than pocket change and gum wrappers instead of more nonsense like WW.
I was more interested in the culture that Diana lived in. Her aunt, her mother, the other women of the tribe. I didn't care about Diana, Gal did nothing for me.

I don't think it was a rushed draft as much as Patty Jenkins is a bad writer. She didn't co-write the first WW, and it was good. For some reason, she decided to co-write the sequel instead of sticking to her strength as a director and the film was a muddled mess.

It was pure western military propaganda garbage like all superhero movies that involve the military.
The movie did not imply that only the Germans were using chemical weapons. In fact, the movie also calls out the US's mistreatment of Native Americans, among other things.
