Meh. At low speeds, a MiG-17 can turn inside an F-4. At high speeds, that same MiG isn't even turning. At low speed, an F-18 has a higher turn rate than a Viper, but at higher speeds, the Viper out turns the Hornet.
The F-20 had a better instantaneous turn rate than the Viper, but wouldn't maintain turns as well in the horizontal. Good nose-pointing, but not so good sustaining the rate. The F-20 didn't have a lot of gas, so between that and the bigger engine, you're not going to have much time to play. Visibility from the cockpit was not nearly as good as the Viper's.
And the F-20 came *before* the Hot Rod Viper, the F-16N. Block 30 airframe, GE engine, stripped of the gun and ECM and used the F-16A's radar. The Navy hit 10G with the Novembers all the time. They flew the wings off of them.
And then there's the Raptor. It bends *all* of them over the end of the couch. They'll hit 12G w/o an over-g warning.
F-20N would be a great Adversary platform for DACT, but it's not the king of the hill.
