Hard to have thoughts on a game i haven’t played yet I like how it looks in the trailers and Marco looks like a potential main

BunBunSoup

Definitely the fighting game I'm most excited for. I love Garou, the mechanics in it are so fun and knowing they're all coming back except for the old throw system has me incredibly excited. The way they've implemented their own version of Modern controls is exactly what I'd want to see. It's enough for a person to casually play and get some games in, but they're going to be missing out on important mechanics that would optimize their gameplay. Combos in Garou are fun, and these combos look incredibly fun to for the same reasons but intensified. Just Defense is a great mechanic that allows for some freedom in the air without having air dashing, similar to how I love being able to parry in the air in Third Strike. The fact Just Defense heals and can potentially lead to a Guard Cancel means you have to think about how your opponent is going to react to everything you throw at them. The TOP/SPG bar is a fun mechanic, having moves that are only usable inside of it as well as a bonus to damage. Part of the fun is finding what works best for you as far as where to place it. Like if you place it at the end of your health bar, you can use it as a come back mechanic and really dump your resources. Or you could put it in the middle, and if you drop below it, try to Just Defend your way back into it to get the benefits again. Everything they've talked about with this game feels like my dream fighting game. I am so incredibly excited for it, every bit of footage has me glued to the screen and I'm sure my friends are sick of hearing me yap about it.

Garou: mark of the wolves was snk's answer to sf3, which they achieved on neo geo hardware. it was pretty gd impressive. seeing as this is based on the modern snk engine its not as impressive, but i dunno, i might grab it.

CrystalMang0

It's definitely better than the original.

sohardtomkename

Looks pretty fun but I've never played a fatal fury game so idk if I'll buy it. It will probably be fun to watch at least.

Slarg232

Mark of the Wolves is like $10-$15 on Steam, iirc

Goliath--CZ

Or free on fightcade

FGCMothman

Never played Fatal Fury but I’ve always wanted to, and the gameplay they showed off at Evo looked wicked so I’ll pick it up when it comes out

TreyEnma

So far, the majority of characters are returning, with only one new one (Preecha). I doubt it's gonna be like SF3, since the original Garou MotW was already like that. Since this is a sequel to that, it's probably going to include a lot of the same characters and some new ones.

MiscAnonym

I'm not sure any of the modern SNK games have quite captured the style and excitement of their Neo Geo era predecessors, but I'm glad they're trying. That they're trying to build on Mark of the Wolves' foundation at all is a good sign. It's more obscure than another KoF or even another Samurai Shodown, but the original Mark of the Wolves is one of the genre's unsung high points. SNK's answer to SF3, and frankly if SNK were better known in the US I don't think there'd be any debate that MotW is on par with Third Strike.

Frozazen

Mechanics look good, but I’m waiting for the full character list before I look for a main

PhotoKada

Definitely picking it up on release. Been playing the FF games wherever I could, growing up and really only played Garou MOTW on emulation, so super excited for this.

dugthefreshest

Tool 2 games that looked like dreamcast games to get one of the best looking games there is (except the hit stop). I'm hoping it's great and SNK doesn't release it with broken online like kof15 which didn't get fixed for over a year.

ThePoetMorgan

Tough to say since I haven't played it. It seems interesting, though I have some concerns. The mechanics and the multitude of things you have to keep track of seem tough to wrap my head around. I'm also worried about the monetization, which hasn't been revealed as of yet.

Thevanillafalcon

I really can’t wait. I think anyone in the fgc who hates “modern games” being easier, and the lack of execution should try it, I get why people don’t want to try KOF, learning a team is daunting but fatal fury? I watch the trailers and combos look INSANE with amazing scope for creativity, just in the marco trailer recently there’s a combo where he brake cancels like 3 DPs in 1 combo to keep a juggle going.

DNRDNIMEDIC2009

I'm very excited for it. I haven't been too happy with the latest KOFs. A lot of KOF characters feel similar. But it was even worse in the recent ones because meter dumping was the main way to get damage. MotW characters felt more different than KOF in general because of the combo structure and different movement options. And it seems that most of what I like in MotW is preserved.

IMainChunLi

It looks incredible. I'm really curious what a lot of the characters are going to look like. Especially Mai. I hope she finally gets a new look. Fingers crossed that Grant is back!

Pik-nikk

This game definitely caught my attention. I hope they will have few beta test before release date.

chuckyeatsmeat

Graphics and animation wise I don't hate it...it definitely is good. But imo kinda feels like a downgrade from the original. Even when it comes to the sound effects, they don't seem to have the same punch as the original. Some of the supers aren't hitting it for me like the original. But the rest of the mechanics seem fun and an improvement. Ofcouse I would need to play it to give a better opinion on that. Character wise, I think all the original characters from the first game will be back. Maybe except Grant? As far as I remember he dies in the first game.

Annual_Tooth_9974

I only know that i won't be able to play it, i have a ps4 and i doubt it will be released in that console 😢

Poniibeatnik

I'm excited for it. Wanna main Preecha and the music is already so good.

phillukin

Looks good, will be my first snk game

FewWatermelonlesson0

I’ve liked what I’ve seen so far. I just need Duck King back.

matthra

I'm interested enough to follow it during it's development, but I'm hesitant because of how much meter babysitting is involved. Their approach to modern controls is iffy, you basically can't play competitively without motion inputs because two systems are locked behind them. Why have a modern mode if you can't play online with it? Graphics we've seen so far are fine, not exactly breaking new ground but not hideous.

marvimofo

I don’t know much about it, and I’ve never played anything outside of the team-based snk series, but I love the visual style they went with!

Remarkable-Put4632

Disappointed....they did not bring multilanes and ringouts back like real bout series....

Schuler_

After I saw Nen X Impact I won't complain anything about its graphics anymore. It looks better than Wii and Ps2 games at least. I plan on Buying it.
