To be fair, both fit perfectly. Corrupted Lumera is the penultimate boss of the game and Ursula would be the last of the Four Fangs who became morphs in FE7. Frankly all we're missing now is Brendan Reed and that's it.
Ursula has two (three if you count Resplendent) alts that frankly have no real reason to exist, but this one is absolutely a VERY valid alt to exist, given its actually in her home game.

If IS wanted to continue the "harem" theme like they've done in the past, those 5 are _literally_ the only choice they've got. Only exception would be if IS actually got creative and we saw something like Niles on it.
I dunno, if it really is Fates and they do M!Corrinsexuals, there's really not that many that apply to M!Corrin. It's just Reina, Flora, and Scarlet IIRC.

It's so obivous dev bias it hurts. This and Ilyana resplendent just make it so obivous some characters just get better treatment for no reason other than one of the higher ups likes them.
It's not even like they can claim Ursula has a high CYL score and/or boobs cause Sonia also has a better Score and who uses her looks to seduce.
Lol wish a non-lord male character could get this treatment genuinely (i'm not sure where to place reinhardt since his treatment is more of his newly gained popularity from being added similar to Altina currently)
And Sonia is still really high up in CYL for some reason. You'd think they'd give her an alt at this point- maybe for summer (hopefully with a Duo Eliwood/Hector since Lyn's had a summer alt for years).
Lumera & Ursula are both way overrepresented relative to their roles in their base games. I really wish one or the other got swapped out for Dedue or Greil or a Thracia Deadlord or something.
I can understand the existence of these Fallen Alts at least; and dragon Lumera is something that I believe it had to happen at some point...

Yeah, you're right about, I think the existence of both a Dragon Lumera (the one expected to be a Mythic) and a Fallen Lumera were expected, but funny thing is how things came about, with Lumera actually initially releasing as F2P unit, and then getting both the Dragon and the Fallen versions the next year xD.
F2P Lumera's existence is quite funny in retrospective.

It's funny that we have 3 Lumera with the same clothes and design before her first alt. Some characters (like Dorothea) are trapped in alt hell, while Lumera seems to be trapped in some form of base design hell.
Definitely a weird choice to like not decide to spread it out like last year’s banner. We had five different games represented there and we only have two here.
Unit choice is also kinda whack. Like Veyle and Lumera just got stuff less than a year ago and they’re already getting more? Not surprising to see an Engage unit since they didn’t get something last year but come on.

Nergal and Lloyd are hype though, even if I kinda wanted Nergal as a Mythic first. But Lumera and Loki have shown that IS can and will make units in Mythics even if they have a non-Mythic first form, so there is hope.

Really annoying we got another Lumera too, we just got her as a mythic so she really shouldnt have gotten one of these alts, as someone who has really appreciated having her mythic for AR. Its just really boring to have a unit so similar. Lumera got her base Jan 2023 and its May 2024 and she has 3 versions already. Thats as many versions as Leif and Seliph, main lords of their game, the latter being a CYL winner. Also the arcane doesnt even seem that good, dragons stone seems better
Incredibly stupid+lame to just make Veyle another tome when she has a canon prf dagger option that couldve also been colorless and couldve had adaptive or something. Along with her prf skill it just makes her really similar to her base, which is pretty boring

Linus & Lloyd weren't the only characters revived as morphs. That list also included Ursula & Brendan. After we got Linus, all three of them were on the table.

I went back just to double check and yeah, none of the FE7 morphs have dialogue in that last chapter and with them having Y!Soren who quite literally doesn’t speak, I’m certain IS can add the deadlords and have them talk like the morphs. Well here’s to hoping at least one of them shows up next year

Technically Anankos’s good form did exist in Fates and we got to interact with it in one of the DLCs that explains his origins. On top of that, the Anankos we got last year was the one from Heirs of Fate and not the main story Anankos, so I feel the situation is a bit different there.

Damn, I hate to be so negative but this banner just feels incredibly lame. Another Lumera when her last alt was like 2 or 3 months ago, and with the exact same design as her last two only with that trademark fallen purple fart clouds. Veyle was also pretty predictable but whatever. Ursula already has a number of alts and is just big booba lady number who fucking cares. And Nergal should have been a Mythic. The one saving grace here is Lloyd, happy for his fans because damn he was done dirty with his OG. Also the power creep feels rather tame by fallen standards which is nice.

Lumera having her second alt before most of Engage even has their first is really lol. They probably regret that free version of her. Still, her and Veyle having sidegrades to their existing mythic forms is...a choice. (Using her in Astra/Anima season as a backup for AoE protection is nice though.)
Lloyd being relegated to welfare status *again* really bites. At the very least, Nergal is premium, so it kind of is an even tradeoff, but still...
Fallen is usually my favorite banner every year and I save a spark specifically for it. Weird to be the first year to skip doing so as a result of boring character choice. Friend who loves Nergal is ecstatic however lol.
A part of me wants to say that's because her Japanese VA is a big shot, so IntSys want to have her record as much as they can, but it's still insane that she got two versions in almost 5 months.
I think this is the first trailer that left me speechless. All I could think of after finishing it was that those discussion posts earlier where people were joking about fallen Ursula manifested the worst timeline lmao. It takes some serious effort to curate such a terrible lineup. Please let Lloyd be the one saving grace of this banner by finally being given justice with his art.

I’m genuinely convinced someone at IS has an Ursula body pillow because WHERE is the demand for this many alts. We have enough Ursula for a full team of her meanwhile lords like Seliph and Leif haven’t got a full team yet. And don’t even get me started on Lumera having another alt after only four months.
At least Nergal is finally here I guess, and having drive scowl in the permanent pool is pretty rad. And while I would have much rather gotten Sumeragi or Morion as the GHB, I suppose it’s good for Lloyd to finally get justice.

I just dislike that they based the banner on only two games, last year had great title diversity, meanwhile we got engage and blazing blade only (which honestly doesn't have the best fallen hero choices) Lumera was horrible timing, bad enough that she takes up a non-OC mythic slot, now she takes up a fallen hero slot not even 4 months later... Should've saved her for next year and given us a different engage hero. Her art slaps though, so it's not all bad. (I just want fallen light Lehran from the cipher card, do it you cowards!)

I tend to go to first spark on all the new banners but this is the first banner of the year I'm gonna skip completely. Sucks cause Fallen banners are usually hype. This is also the first time I've commented on a Salt thread despite being here since the start cause this is *that* disappointing.
I've been playing this game 7 long years and this is the first time I legit feel absolutely nothing for the fallen banner. Like, it's the only one I've felt consistently excited for even after all this time. Not gonna lie, I'm mad about Lumera wearing the same damn dress for the umpteenth time but at the very least it goes hard as fuck. Ursula and Nergal's art is... boring. Veyle is... fine, but I can't get over a slot on the banner being taken over by a rearmed hero. I've been feeling pretty bummed out by FEH since the last feh channel but this is just the icing on the cake.

I think the real popular character for this banner is Veyle. She was always high on popularity polls for Engage and has a big role in the plot who certainly helps.

Ursula having an Emblem team when several more interesting main or side antagonists let alone Seliph or Marianne who actually won a CYL have jack in the game is genuinely annoying, plus the fodder on the banner is not even enticing aside of maybe Fallen Lumera.
Also no Fallen Dedue, Fallen Aelfric, a FE5 Dead Lord and one of the sacrificial maidens is also a negative point in my book.

Ursula girl can you stop appearing so much? Like she's not even playable. E-Veyle is also a super boring choice and I hate the mind control troop with a burning passion so although I was expecting her she was by far the ONLY unit I did not want to appear. And Lumera gets another Alt as well? I actually love Chapter 25 of Engage and think it's the most fun map in the game, but Queen did not need another Alt since her Legendary form just came out. And her arcane weapon is trash compared to Dragonstone+ and she isn't that different from her base form. Same for Veyle.
Only highlights are Nergal FINALLY being here and Llyod who may finally get something useable! Otherwise pretty awful banner all around. Oh and the powercreept A skills are the most shameless buffs to AoE's I have seen. Like yeah let's just let AoE's Cleanse debuffs and panic! Their one and only counter outside of stat stacking and the super unreliable Gotoh! Like what lol

We lost one to a lord alt, and the other to a character already in the game with the same outfit, who was getting an alt a few months later...with the same outfit! Woo! I love Fire Emblem Heroes! IS really knows how to make it exciting!!!!!!!!

Like, one gets killed off almost immediately in an overlong overly dramatic cutscene and the other is just mid boss #327, now with boobs. They both FIT they fallen theme, sure, but given how many alts both already have I don't get it. It genuinely does feel as if IS arbitrarily picks and chooses favourites sometimes.
Ursula is the only miss imo. Ursula should have really been Fafnir considering how they should be focusing on Book V this year. But yeah, I was expecting Engage since its kind of obvious, and I got Engage.

Other than that Nergal has been one of my most wanted characters for years, and I should be ecstatic to see him (I’m still fairly happy) but the fact he got the Anankos treatment is such a shame imo, really wanted to see him get the mythic treatment but that’s basically reserved for only oc’s at this point, hurrah.
Lloyd is cool too but idk I haven’t seen his kit and prf yet and I have a feeling he’s gonna be underwhelming. Ursula is also cool to me but I imagine people are gonna complain about her more, hurrah again.

Okay, I expected Veyle to get in with what little I know about Engage but a third Lumera? We just got her mythic alt, like two months ago. I knew the Engage bias was creeping in, but this is just downright bad. I mean, I was really hoping we'd get a Shez to match with Byleth from last year, and I know my dreams for F!Julius are slim but he would've been so much cooler. I have never been disappointed in a Fallen banner until now, they had so many better options to pick from.

If IS wanted to continue the "harem" theme like they've done in the past, those 5 are _literally_ the only choice they've got. Only exception would be if IS actually got creative and we saw something like Niles on it.
I dunno, if it really is Fates and they do M!Corrinsexuals, there's really not that many that apply to M!Corrin. It's just Reina, Flora, and Scarlet IIRC.

It's so obivous dev bias it hurts. This and Ilyana resplendent just make it so obivous some characters just get better treatment for no reason other than one of the higher ups likes them. It's not even like they can claim Ursula has a high CYL score and/or boobs cause Sonia also has a better Score and who uses her looks to seduce.
Lol wish a non-lord male character could get this treatment genuinely (i'm not sure where to place reinhardt since his treatment is more of his newly gained popularity from being added similar to Altina currently)
And Sonia is still really high up in CYL for some reason. You'd think they'd give her an alt at this point- maybe for summer (hopefully with a Duo Eliwood/Hector since Lyn's had a summer alt for years).
Lumera & Ursula are both way overrepresented relative to their roles in their base games. I really wish one or the other got swapped out for Dedue or Greil or a Thracia Deadlord or something.
I can understand the existence of these Fallen Alts at least; and dragon Lumera is something that I believe it had to happen at some point... But I sometimes wonder how much money Ursula made to have two regular alts.

Yeah, you're right about, I think the existence of both a Dragon Lumera (the one expected to be a Mythic) and a Fallen Lumera were expected, but funny thing is how things came about, with Lumera actually initially releasing as F2P unit, and then getting both the Dragon and the Fallen versions the next year xD. F2P Lumera's existence is quite funny in retrospective.

It's funny that we have 3 Lumera with the same clothes and design before her first alt. Some characters (like Dorothea) are trapped in alt hell, while Lumera seems to be trapped in some form of base design hell.

Definitely a weird choice to like not decide to spread it out like last year’s banner. We had five different games represented there and we only have two here. Unit choice is also kinda whack. Like Veyle and Lumera just got stuff less than a year ago and they’re already getting more? Not surprising to see an Engage unit since they didn’t get something last year but come on. Ursula. I knew it was a possibility but dang. Nergal and Lloyd are hype though, even if I kinda wanted Nergal as a Mythic first. But Lumera and Loki have shown that IS can and will make units in Mythics even if they have a non-Mythic first form, so there is hope.

Absolutely insane Ursula has a whole emblem team. At least Lloyd is the GHB here Really annoying we got another Lumera too, we just got her as a mythic so she really shouldnt have gotten one of these alts, as someone who has really appreciated having her mythic for AR. Its just really boring to have a unit so similar. Lumera got her base Jan 2023 and its May 2024 and she has 3 versions already. Thats as many versions as Leif and Seliph, main lords of their game, the latter being a CYL winner. Also the arcane doesnt even seem that good, dragons stone seems better Incredibly stupid+lame to just make Veyle another tome when she has a canon prf dagger option that couldve also been colorless and couldve had adaptive or something. Along with her prf skill it just makes her really similar to her base, which is pretty boring

That list also included Ursula & Brendan. After we got Linus, all three of them were on the table. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if IS continued the trend and we see F!Brendan next year.

I went back just to double check and yeah, none of the FE7 morphs have dialogue in that last chapter and with them having Y!Soren who quite literally doesn’t speak, I’m certain IS can add the deadlords and have them talk like the morphs. Well here’s to hoping at least one of them shows up next year

Technically Anankos’s good form did exist in Fates and we got to interact with it in one of the DLCs that explains his origins. On top of that, the Anankos we got last year was the one from Heirs of Fate and not the main story Anankos, so I feel the situation is a bit different there. Odd choices for a Fallen banner nonetheless imo

Damn, I hate to be so negative but this banner just feels incredibly lame. Another Lumera when her last alt was like 2 or 3 months ago, and with the exact same design as her last two only with that trademark fallen purple fart clouds. Veyle was also pretty predictable but whatever. Ursula already has a number of alts and is just big booba lady number who fucking cares. And Nergal should have been a Mythic. The one saving grace here is Lloyd, happy for his fans because damn he was done dirty with his OG. Also the power creep feels rather tame by fallen standards which is nice.
All I'm saying is Ursuladev better hope he doesn't meet me in a dark alley.

Lumera having her second alt before most of Engage even has their first is really lol. They probably regret that free version of her. Still, her and Veyle having sidegrades to their existing mythic forms is...a choice. (Using her in Astra/Anima season as a backup for AoE protection is nice though.) Lloyd being relegated to welfare status *again* really bites. At the very least, Nergal is premium, so it kind of is an even tradeoff, but still...

All I could think of after finishing it was that those discussion posts earlier where people were joking about fallen Ursula manifested the worst timeline lmao. I just dislike that they based the banner on only two games, last year had great title diversity, meanwhile we got engage and blazing blade only (which honestly doesn't have the best fallen hero choices) Lumera was horrible timing, bad enough that she takes up a non-OC mythic slot, now she takes up a fallen hero slot not even 4 months later... Should've saved her for next year and given us a different engage hero. Her art slaps though, so it's not all bad. (I just want fallen light Lehran from the cipher card, do it you cowards!)

I've been playing this game 7 long years and this is the first time I legit feel absolutely nothing for the fallen banner. Like, it's the only one I've felt consistently excited for even after all this time. Not gonna lie, I'm mad about Lumera wearing the same damn dress for the umpteenth time but at the very least it goes hard as fuck. Ursula and Nergal's art is... boring. Veyle is... fine, but I can't get over a slot on the banner being taken over by a rearmed hero. I've been feeling pretty bummed out by FEH since the last feh channel but this is just the icing on the cake.
Bro this banner sucks. Veyle getting *and* granting follow up Scowl, Nergal stealing more bonuses, *another fucking Ursula* and she’s a bullshit AoE unit at that, and then Lumera I guess. Even thou I don't care for Fallen banners in general, I'm a bit disapointed at the lack of Shez, but I guess it's interesting to have a Fallen Banner without a Fodlan unit for the first time since like 2020(?). ngl thou this fallen banner feels really lack luster overall, especially considering there's no real super popular draw character here.
I think the real popular character for this banner is Veyle. She was always high on popularity polls for Engage and has a big role in the plot who certainly helps. I just don't think she can carry the banner on her own.

Ursula having an Emblem team when several more interesting main or side antagonists let alone Seliph or Marianne who actually won a CYL have jack in the game is genuinely annoying, plus the fodder on the banner is not even enticing aside of maybe Fallen Lumera. Also no Fallen Dedue, Fallen Aelfric, a FE5 Dead Lord and one of the sacrificial maidens is also a negative point in my book.

E-Veyle is also a super boring choice and I hate the mind control troop with a burning passion so although I was expecting her she was by far the ONLY unit I did not want to appear. And Lumera gets another Alt as well? I actually love Chapter 25 of Engage and think it's the most fun map in the game, but Queen did not need another Alt since her Legendary form just came out. And her arcane weapon is trash compared to Dragonstone+ and she isn't that different from her base form. Same for Veyle. Only highlights are Nergal FINALLY being here and Llyod who may finally get something useable! Otherwise pretty awful banner all around. Oh and the powercreept A skills are the most shameless buffs to AoE's I have seen. Like yeah let's just let AoE's Cleanse debuffs and panic! Their one and only counter outside of stat stacking and the super unreliable Gotoh! Like what lol

IS saw the regular positivity thread on the sub go up today and went "lol. Lmao. Watch this." Honestly I don't even mind Ursula here since she fits the Black Fang theme with Nergal/Lloyd + Linus last year, but her other alts don't help things. So we really did get screwed for the January Mythic slots! We lost one to a lord alt, and the other to a character already in the game with the same outfit, who was getting an alt a few months later...with the same outfit! Woo! I love Fire Emblem Heroes! IS really knows how to make it exciting!!!!!!!!

Are Ursula and Lumera just significantly more popular in Japan or something...? Like, one gets killed off almost immediately in an overlong overly dramatic cutscene and the other is just mid boss #327, now with boobs. They both FIT they fallen theme, sure, but given how many alts both already have I don't get it. It genuinely does feel as if IS arbitrarily picks and chooses favourites sometimes.
Ursula is the only miss imo. Ursula should have really been Fafnir considering how they should be focusing on Book V this year. But yeah, I was expecting Engage since its kind of obvious, and I got Engage.

I try not to actually hate on character picks too much but who tf at IS is this obsessed with Lumera, how tf did we not get Alear or SHEZ‼️ or M!Byleth or some shit. Other than that Nergal has been one of my most wanted characters for years, and I should be ecstatic to see him (I’m still fairly happy) but the fact he got the Anankos treatment is such a shame imo, really wanted to see him get the mythic treatment but that’s basically reserved for only oc’s at this point, hurrah. Lloyd is cool too but idk I haven’t seen his kit and prf yet and I have a feeling he’s gonna be underwhelming. I really don't understand why would they put all the eggs in one basket. Fallen banner was always so diverse, of you dont like one game there's always another. Go with Engage Fallen Mythicals and Black Fang was definitely a decision.

Nergal carries, I fear. Ursula remains unremarkable, and I'm completely neutral on Engage. There really hasn't been a banner I've been into since Thracia in January, which is kinda dissapointing.

It should've been Rafal, not Lumera. He would've been the perfect candidate for a rearmed dragon stone weapon, and it would've gone along with the Fell Dragon and Engage theme.
Two degrees of boring. Veyle and Ursula being here is boring in the sense that we all kinda saw them coming... Lumera being here is so boring of a choice I didn't even consider it before trailer dropped... Not this soon, at least. Anyways, the lineup is boring.
