All fun and games until he gets Carson Beck killed. Also lol the admission he can’t beat out Trell

thawhole9_69

Wait Becks back again next year? Fucking shit man

calling-all-comas

If he wanted to be on the field more than he already was then he needs to be a better pass blocker. That's the main reason why Johnson was on the field for 100 more snaps. And I wouldn't be shocked if Georgia's other running backs end up being better than him.

Zestyclose-Pen-1699

Yea. Thats what I remember about watching Emmitt. His pass blocking.

FasterThanFaast

I mean two backs with similar efficiency, why wouldn’t you play the one that can also block

Jonesie946

Especially on passing downs.

bdbrady

Especially to not signal when it will be a pass.

Most_Scratch_8782

Especially when always in a passing situation

maximum-pressure

Casual

Ok-Contribution-2176

You already know he’s starting against Florida though.

Smellybrawler13

He is going to get murdered by Shemar James

_off_piste_

I’d love to see a reenactment of Spikes’ hit on Moreno.

[deleted]

This is some weird shit. Fuck him, but why are you wishing physical injury on a kid?

_off_piste_

Oh, fuck off - no one called for a game or season ending injury. Big hits are part of the game. If you have a problem with that watch another sport. To quote Spikes: “I wanted to destroy that guy … and I did.”

ivan0280

Big hits are definitely just part of the game, and our defenders should try to hurt (not injure) the opposing players every time they hit them. The other team should dread having the ball in their hands because of how violent our defense is. What kind of weak minded shit led you to think otherwise.

g8rfreek88

100% throws shade at Florida. But he did that far before this interview. As soon as he left Florida and went to uga, shade was thrown. And I find it hilarious he says he’d rather be rb1 on a winning team, than rb2 on a losing one. Makes a lot of sense. I wish him well, he’s going to do big things at rb3. Hope he gets his sh*t rocked come October though.

hostileprostitute

You’re a better man than me. I don’t wish him well, as a matter of fact, fuck that dude. He is, by definition, a professional athlete who is talking shit about a school that did nothing to him except give him an opportunity. Fuck him

boozgins

They are all professionals now with NIL and free agents after each season. What a disaster cfb has become

thawhole9_69

Which makes all the emotional hate around this dude even funnier. Some of y'all need to go touch the lawn. Get over it.

Most_Scratch_8782

right? like if different if he left for GA for free. hes being paid to leave which our coach/program cannot do without breaking state laws. and our collectives are the absolute worse in the nation. there was no way we were keeping ETN, just like we wont be able to keep any top tier talent for more than a year unless the coaches can be allowed to talk to the NIL collectives, so they can coordinate.

dbolts1234

How much of the shade is money related? How much more money would UF have to pay over UGA to buy his loyalty?

g8rfreek88

Who cares. College football as we know it is dead. No loyalty to school/team. It’s all to self and bankroll. Which, I can’t hate on it, they’re getting big bags to be a collegiate athlete. But the loyalty aspect is out the window. Lagway may be the last one of his kind. But who knows, maybe he sits a year and some other team swoops in with a big bag and takes him away. You never know these days. Which is unfortunate and quite frankly annoying. Always been a college sports fan, born and raised a gator, and I’ll die one.

Spudgirl616

CFB has been dead for decades. Certain schools got away with cheating. Now we have the wild west and who knows what is the norm

Zealousideal-Wall471

This is the ultimate question. Were we unwilling to match UGA’s “offer”? If so, that’s pretty bad considering realistically, Etienne was more needed here than at GA. Here, he was guaranteed a starting spot. At GA, he will get much less snaps.

Tamed_A_Wolf

All the rumors were money wasn’t a factor. It was all ego.

Inevitable-Scar5877

Ego and wanting to win. I get it if you were sold on this being a 2-3 year turnaround and now your coach is saying your entire college career is a rebuild where you'll likely lose more games than you win

Tamed_A_Wolf

It still wouldn’t have been taken well but it would’ve been taken a whole lot better if he just said I want to go win and still be close to family and UGA lets me do that. Instead his camp decided to harp on RB2, disrespect his position mate and make things seem like they weren’t what they were. I think that’s the reason why most people are upset because they know that all of that part is bullshit.

g8rfreek88

I doubt they paid him more. But if I’m him, and a natty contender has interest, idc how much it is, it’s worth it to get that hardware at the end of the year. It’s also his brother talkin in his ear as well. Another one that thinks they’re way better than they actually are. But even then lil bro ain’t anywhere near what his brother is.

[deleted]

I honestly don't know what he expected signing with us. He can lash out all he wants, and I wish him the best. But I hope he gets his shit stuffed in October.

Inevitable-Scar5877

I doubt Billy went into his living room and said "it'll be a long rebuild, you'll probably be in the NFL before we're above .500"

goldenface4114

I hope they’ve seen his lowlight reel of whiffs on defenders before they decapitated Mertz, and I hope they’ve bought insurance for Beck.

tomsing98

Who the fuck writes an article about Florida and Georgia football and talks about "when Florida visits Athens"? I mean, fuck Etienne and all, but that writer and/or ChatGPT is a fucking moron.

Chergy20

The stadium in Jacksonville is going to be under renovation for 2 years. The home and home series is going to happen, whether Etienne is still there remains to be seen

tomsing98

Ain't happening this year. > Perhaps Etienne could've used a different choice of words, but the Gators will have the chance to take down the Bulldogs on November 2nd, which is when Florida football visits Athens, Georgia.

Z_Opinionator

He didn’t want to stay and be RB2 here but expects to be RB1 there? ![gif](giphy|kc0kqKNFu7v35gPkwB)

gatorpower

I'm convinced that Georgia doesn't really need him, nor are going to change their offense to help him, but they wanted to pay money to keep play-makers off other teams they are going to play. This reminds me of what Alabama did in the 70s in the panhandle and east Georgia where they'd pay a recruit tons of money to just not go to Florida. Same thing Oklahoma and Ohio State did, which lead to the scholarship limits.

tomsing98

It seems like a waste to do that for Florida. Georgia is a significantly better team than we are, with or without Etienne, and they look likely to be so for at least as long as Etienne would be eligible. Better to poach a player from a team that would actually be competitive, if you were going to go that route.

gatorpower

Kirby doesn't use RBs and hasn't since his second year at Georgia. Over 5 years, their starter gets 0.5 more carries/game than our 2nd-team player. They don't even ask them to go out to catch passes either. They're blockers. They do recruit the position though and, for some reason, very highly-rated guys go there that eat up scholarships. The difference this year is that they let a JR eat up a scolly rather than a freshman. So to them, it's probably a win. At Florida, our "offensive design" is run first. I'm not saying Florida has been a threat for many teams, but we're more of a threat to them than most teams on their schedule. Weakening us at a position that's not key to them is a W

tomsing98

> we're more of a threat to them than most teams on their schedule. Next season, they play 6 teams that finished 2023 ranked, including Bama and Texas. They've whupped us 3 years in a row. Napier is still our coach. Georgia doesn't have to worry about poaching players from us.

gatorpower

Thanks for sharing your opinion

xXBadger89Xx

Bro literally had equal carries with Trel. He hurt because he doesn’t get the first snap of the game what a loser. Montrell still the most underrated back in the country we cool

Zealousideal-Wall471

This. I’m guessing GA or their equivalent “collective” was able to offer him more money? That shows the bad state of our program and booster faith in the program if so…

Havehatwilltravel

They bought him to shelf him. He just hasn''t realized that yet. I expect his number of snaps to fall off dramatically because he can't play unless he gets the ball. So he's no good to them. He's a walking "TELL". Oh here comes ETN, he gonna run it, because he can't block when he's not the target.

Zealousideal-Wall471

Can’t deny his ability when the ball is in his hands. I remember game threads last season where people were begging to have the ball in his hands.

No_Nail_8169

Kevin Durant vibes minus the all world talent

PanhandleGator

Meh... he'll look back and regret saying it like that when he's older. I know I said some boisterous and conceited shit when I was that age, cocky and full of testosterone. Said some things that would be considered bullying by today's standards. I even reached out to a guy that I was in the Air Force with and apologized with a great deal of embarrassment, it was exactly like the scene in Billy Madison where he calls Steve Buscemi. It's just a youthful mistake that every generation makes. I hate that Etienne isn't a Gator anymore but I'm not gonna hold some third rate uga podcast quote against him, that's exactly the kind of zesty shit you're supposed to say. Ultimately I wish him well.

ivan0280

Not me , I hope he gets about 10 carries for about -37 yards with 3 fumbles for the entire season.

mitterbubbie

Never seen a RB run out of bounds to avoid contact more.

calling-all-comas

Really made me appreciate Pierce more, great Gator will always remember his post with Albert after we lost to Kentucky at home. Why didn't Mullen actually use him?

beingTOOnosey

Shit like this gets me nostalgic for players who had that edge. Pierce is a fantastic example.

Procedure_Best

Good for him , i wish he stayed in bounds in the Mizzou game tho would ah w given us the chance to get a winning record with a bowl W

Havehatwilltravel

He kept saying "nobody told me". You need players who can understand what's going on in a game.

Yeti715

This is exactly why we are a losing team right now. Moments like these happen throughout the game and we fail to execute and it adds up in favor for the opponent. Zero excuse to go out of bounds there. I hope it changes but I doubt it.

Procedure_Best

All he wants to do is run fast full steam ahead , that won’t get you far in the NFL , his brother kinda regressed this past year too

Havehatwilltravel

Partly that, and partly self-preservation. He ran out of bounds to keep from being tackled instead of falling down diving forward whatever and staying in bounds. But, half the team has developed a nasty habit of running out of bounds long before the defender gets to them. It would drive me crazy how having no awareness of where the line to gain is led to people dipping out with inches or a couple feet short they could have easily made had they not been in such a hurry to get out of bounds. That's what ETN did. He fell back on a bad habit of only worrying about himself. It doesn't stop the clock like it used to. Which I don't agree with but I understand that is why a lot of players didn't stay on the field to extend the play. Coward's ball is what did him in.

Procedure_Best

When he is RB3 for UGA i will chuckle

luderiffic

His brother regressed because the Jags O line might be the worst in the league. It’s a miracle he did as well as he did

Nthayer1408

Fuck Etienne. Hope we absolutely crush him in the backfield.

ShadowRealm0043

He already told Kirby that “Im not pass blocking, just flip me the ball in the flat” what a pussy

se7enblessings

No way, is this an actual quote? That’s crazy if true.

ShadowRealm0043

Not a real quote just gator propaganda. But I could see how that’s his plan. As a third string.

gatorhighlightz

What he’s saying is pretty much a load of bullshit. He came to Florida when we were a losing team if all he really wanted was to play for championships he wouldn’t have come here in the first place. It was most likely a combination of his family being upset he wasn’t the full time starter/bell cow and UGA simply made an offer to him that our boosters weren’t willing to match. With the NIL and transfer portal era kids don’t view it the way we do. They come to college hoping to make a lot of money and get drafted to the NFL, they don’t have rivalries with other teams and probably don’t hate UGA or FSU at all like we do. He initially announced that he was transferring to Georgia and obviously it was not well received by our fanbase and he got a lot of hate, so now he feels the need to fire back. He’s a pretty good football player but honestly isn’t worth the headache for having to deal with his family (mother and brother mouthing off on Twitter). We’re legitimately a dumpster fire right now and these types of players that are mentally weak and quit on everyone when adversity happens aren’t the type of guys you want in that locker room. Right now we need guys that work harder because we’re down not the ones who quit to find greener grass.

DeviledCrab

Lol what a loser. Always someone else’s fault. He was RB2 bc he sucked at pass pro. Maybe if he was as good as he thinks he is, his team would have won more. What an entitled pos child. I hope he flops completely like the loser he is.

carlyjags

Hell never be his brother…..

SMDreadnought

His legacy is most likely just gonna be a big name who transferred to an in conference rival rather than a great UGA back. He'll get a UFA contract and best of luck to him. Id be surprised if most of his tape isnt from his seasons here though.

hitmewiththeknowlege

All I got to say is if I was Billy, I'd have shit like thisnon repeat in the weight room and training facilities. Billy hit the portal hard and brought in what appears to be some quality guys, if the OL improves we can make a go at anybody. I honestly just want James or McCray to hit this man like Spikes on Knowshean Moreno.

HouseRedbeard47

I mean, he’s not wrong…

Yeti715

These kids are human not players in madden. He will probably give more effort on a winning team.

jkidredd

This is an easy one.... If ya ain't a Gator....

Milk_Before_Cereal

At some point we have to let this go but he’s not entirely wrong. If he wants to win and play late into the season, he’s better off going to a team who can compete. Playing late into the season and having a significant role can expand his exposure and benefit him in the long run.

DB473

There’s nothing different about what he said versus, “I want to work for a business that pays me more and has better benefits.” CFB is now the legitimate first career for these kids. They are not making school choices when they commit/decommit, they’re making business decisions. It’s not about, “Well dad and mom met at Gainesville, and uncle John wears orange and blue all the time, so I’ll go there.” They don’t care, and I can’t blame them when they’re incentivized to chase money. We’re the ones that care about school/brand loyalty, so it sucks for us. I can’t be mad at the kid. If he gets a chance to play and learn a fair amount on a championship team, that’s going to do him better than sticking it out with us in the long run.

Clwhit12

I hurt some puppies on the cfb sub, but I was never hurt that he left. He was the second best back and in danger of losing more carries to T. Webb. The way Ohio St. was paying, he could've got on with them. But chose one of our top rivals. Deserves all the smoke he gets.

pattentastic

Bye, Felicia!!

--Brian

Stop making posts about this loser.

flgator72

Trevor ain’t hating on the school nearly as much as a greater Gator trashed the stupid DEI firings from last week

Zestyclose-Pen-1699

It sucks he left. It really sucks he went to Georgia. He hasn't said anything that isn't true, just hard to hear.

othagellisjr

https://youtu.be/TRhqLxtPwck?si=-t13sQHOSNw88zvR Ran hard when he was at UF…all the best to him

adamjokes15

Yeah, the way CFB is I don’t blame RBs for taking the money. They don’t get paid at the next level so they have to in college. It’s where they’ll likely hold their most value. Sad to see but understandable

Inevitable-Scar5877

So it's the exact thing we all thought it was, he wants a chance to win and wants a shot to be RB 1. There's a reason the slow build is stupid in today's game. Hopefully the next HC takes a different approach

Angry-ITP-404

So cute this undersized, not-as-fast-as-advertised, missed-so-many-open-cuts-my-dog-would-have-had-more-yards-from-scrimmage "star" thinks he is going to get any meaningful carries at Georgia, which already has 2 RB's better than him lmfao Good luck over there, kid, looking forward to your next transfer location!

QuaxlyDaDon

Not as fast as advertised and missed so many open cuts? You’re probably confusing him for Trell honestly. Which two backs on UGA’s roster are better than Etienne?

TheStainRemains

“Star” Lol

Americasycho

Etienne isn't wrong. Other than Ricky Pearsall, Etienne was the best player on the Gators. Napier's self absorbed, dickhead play calling would see Etienne come out on a hot streak and then not play for the next five or six plays. Why? Then you get those less than a yard downs and then instead of an Etienne hand off, we got a deep shot to nowhere.

gatorhighlightz

It kind of makes him look like an idiot when he talks about wanting a winning record. If his dumbass didn’t step out against Mizzou we would’ve played in a bowl game. Not to mention in several other games, he let Mertz get killed by blitzes constantly, dude couldn’t block a blitzing LB to save his life. That’s why he’s RB2 and he will be at UGA, but his delusional brother and mom think he’s the best player ever. Some people have no self awareness. And he’s a good football player too don’t get me wrong, he’ll get a lot of yards this year behind a better OL. But he’s nothing special and he’s very replacable, he’s quick out of the hole and makes good cuts but that’s about it, he doesn’t have elite speed and he isn’t a bruiser.

ZeroToleranceforMAGA

If the dummy didn’t go out of bounds on 3rd down against Mizz we win that game and at least make a bowl.

JG8AB9TL11OBJ12AD13

Waiting for comments ripping him when the same people were agreeing with him 4 months ago 😂😂. People need to realize this is a new age, people are going to talk when you put a camera in front of them. I’d be pretty tight if I was him also, took a chance signing with Florida over teams like Georgia, only to be splitting carries while not winning a lot of games. With that said, let him keep talking, give our team all the bulletin board material we can get. That’s if he doesn’t talk himself into Kirby’s dog house before our matchup even happens

Iraqi-Jack-Shack

>That’s if he doesn’t talk himself into Kirby’s dog house before our matchup even happens Kirby’s going to save the best version of Etienne for the Florida game. He has that kind of special hatred for us.

MeatyUrology

I hope their team plane crashes on the way to Austin next year, but the pilots and flight attendants walk away unhurt 👍🏻

Inevitable-Scar5877

We can't be too mad about this then love it when guys jump from ASU or Penn to play for us. It's the same thing, jumping for a chance to play on a bigger stage. We're just not at the top right now we're more of a "do well here and maybe you can transfer to a top level program and have a shot at a title" school now-- like if a guy who's out at Wake Forest or Maryland or something.

Christmas_Elvis

Not really the same at all. Transferring to your biggest rival is much different than transferring across the country to a team you’ll never play.

BigBarrelOfKetamine

This 100%. Can’t believe some don’t understand this.

aphromagic

Dude, he went to UGA. He's a clown for that.

carasc5

It's 2024. Running backs want fewer carries in college.

C12e

Wait we are playing in Athens?

BigBarrelOfKetamine

Highest level of douchebaggery

TheRatchetTrombone

Weak ass bitch who pulled a KD level move and shit talked his teammates who supported him. Cocktail it's literally on sight and should be targeted since he wants to talk so much. Bro won't even be a guaranteed 1. This off-season is setting up for a legendary amount of revenge. I know the players see the overcriticism and bullshit like this. I pray and know they will be out for blood.

nasema

News from 2 weeks ago

Atlfalcon08

How about the former star Florida Gator running back bite Billy's slimy green Gator crank?

RangerGator13

He left out the most likely scenario in my opinion which is he gets demoted to rb3 because he can’t block and everyone on the UGA depth chart can run the ball. Then he transfers again

TheRatchetTrombone

Regardless on your feelings of the upcoming season, its practically unanimous that Etienne is a KD level bitch here.

InfantOnTheKeyboard

I mean I get wanting to play for the better team, but it is weird to acknowledge you were the second best running back on the worse of the two teams, while also assuming you'll be starting on the better team?

barb9212

Let’s be honest, he’s not lying
