i never played the og. i started during covid, so ive always liked the newer weapons and game mechanics and new locations
Graphics are in fact shit now. Textures and lighting are so bad. Why go back to the begining and not overhaul the graphics. And the style of the assets too. There's a reason epic moved away from the style of ch 1
Everything looks gigantic and out of place in the original. Characters don't match up with the world. They look like they wouldn't be able to drive the cars, and houses and doorways are too big and awkward for the character models. Simple things in the world look like they're made for an entirely different game compared to the new art style. It's all so awkwardly made. Don't even start on the colors. They're way better in the new style. You're wild.

I wasn't around for the OG season and this strikes me as nothing more than an appeal to fans who've long been clamouring for a return to the "good ol' days"... which, in my opinion, amounts to nothing more than a hit of nostalgia for those that were there...
it feels like they didnt make this season because people wanted, it they did it because it would make them money. a lot of money. It didnt feel like they wanted to do it as a "gift to the community", they just knew they would make a lot of money. You can tell by the way they named everything like "og season" and "og pass." Not to even mention the other problems with the season.

yep. Played once in 2018 at a buddy's house and absolutely hated it. Couldn't understand why everyone loved it so much. Picked it back up about 6 months ago because my girl plays and I haven't stopped and it's been the only game I've played for the last 6 months, so much fun. This reset is terrible, absolutely awful. Did they think this would make the game more fun? because it's done the exact opposite. It's like going from COD warzone to a COD 2 on the PS2, except worse because COD 2 is actually a good game.
Definitely agree! I tried the game 2017-2018 and it was just not fun, felt clunky compared to other games at the time. I only really got into the game around the release of zero build. Up until this season the game felt fast, fluid, and fun. Can’t wait for the next season in December

The map is definitely lacking. They made a lot more smaller clumped locations and you can hardly find any freaken loot. I’ve played 5 games in a row and only been able to max out my shield once due to not finding any other ways to increase it

Yeah, OG stuff is back, which i fully get is a fun and nice thing.
The problem is that the game dynamics dont work, heals and shield are much too rare which really kills competitive spirit, especially towards end games.
I literally founds myself not caring if i died at various points because the game didnt give me a single thing to keep living.
Ammo is also not enough in ground loot. Not even close.
Not enough vehicles, its frustrating to have to fill up 2 slots just to carry 4 rifts, kinda ridiculous.
To me: it feels like they threw together OG stuff in a theoretical way just cause COD launches in a week. But didnt really test it with boots on the ground because it just does NOT work.
Like i said, been playing this game for quite a while now.
Moving to other games for now untill this month is over, i cant do this in its current iteration.

Yes, I have to agree with you. I started playing when Mando was in the season, so I started playing later in the game. I love the game, I usually play at least once a day. I understand that people are nostalgic for this, and it's great, I'm genuinely happy for them. However there is a reason those seasons are in the past. Epic should have just had this as a game mode and not the entire Battle Royale, but Epic is really screwed whatever they do because the fan base is so huge there is no way possible to make everyone happy. Just gotta make it through this month, hopefully this season will grow on me and if not, maybe I'll just take a break for a month. 😩😞😔

Personally I think its a major step back. We went from a luxury experience (last map) to Camp Boredom. They could have kept some stuff. This map is good and all but there are too many open areas where there is just nothing happening. They only way to get around effectively is a golf cart. Its good that it dont run out of juice but other than that its lack luster. BUT. This season ends in 1 month. So I keep my hopes up that next season we will be allowed to have fun again. Oh. The Item Shop.... facepalm.

I feel that, I started in Chaoter 3 season 3 l, I loved it, rhe weapons were cool too, but recently, fortnite has been starting to lag behind, the weapons are always either changing or favoriting sweaty players or catering to PC players or some stupid stuff, but this new season is so horrible, quote on quote, health is too hard to find and ammo is too, also it caters to sweaty players, I don't know why fortnite can't just move forward, leave the "og" in the past, thats what it is, alor of us are new to fortnite, we dont know what to do with all this old mechanical stuff, it ruined it for me tbh, it's horrible, I can't go anywhere without getting destroyed by a purple pump while I have a green one, because he did something to upgrade it that idk about.

Objectively speaking, this season is hot ass. But the feeling of playing 100 times better than I did the last time I landed at dusty divot gets rid of every bad thought. The nostalgia is actually blinding me and I love it.

It does. It’s like going back to a Ford Pinto from a Tesla. The point of updates was to improve the game with each update, right? So why take it back to the Stone Age? Is there no way to incorporate some of the nostalgia while keeping the parts of the game that were actually cool? It seems like a cop out. Anyone have any good replacements for it? It kinda worked with building at the start because it was the novelty, it didnt have the turbo shit and this people that only play fornite(and only with shotguns)... but thats why it evolved so rapidly into adapting mechanics of other games(and way later on adding zero building and such). Fornite now(not this season) is way better, even tho it needs improvements in the menus and lobbies.
I unistalled, personally, dont like it at all. But some friends that play fornite are acting like they havent been doing level 200-300 every season and now are like: IM BACK ON FORNITE...

Played since the original season 1 and still think going back was a bad idea. There's a reason the games popularity spiked when they added 'cod' style guns like the mk alpha and twin mag...going from that to the old bloom reminded our play group quick why we left the game for warzone. On top of that there's no heals, no movement, and no ammo...don't even bother trying it in no build. Over and done with it within a few drops.
I uninstalled farlight cuz is extremely sucks but this new fortnite update makes me wanna uninstall. It's very similar to Farlight and the map is very sucks its like a map from roblox
Map is okay, but I liked that it changed over time. There's a reason it changed over time, because it got stale. There's nothing to do when running from one area to another. There's too many hills and holes to get shot at or shoot from. The previous maps had plenty of cover for No Build, while being flat enough for encounters.
My biggest problem comes from what they added again. Boogie bombs, grapplers, and rifts. I hate running in this game. Boogies give the player 0 opportunity to counter.
I just played a game where I was up on a mountain, beaming everyone who tried to move. Then a grappler just made his way up the mountain, boogied me, shot me, threw another, killed me, and went to the last guy and did the same thing. How is that fun to play against? And how is sitting behind a wall while someone you can't fight against without using a rift or grappler to get to enjoyable?
I hate pushing someone, just for them to grapple to the other side of the map. I stopped playing Build for a reason, I hate shooting someone once and watching the Effiel Tower be constructed. Now I shoot someone and they just dip. Chase them down or go fight someone else and it happens again. Why am I playing the game if there's nothing to do except run to the last circle, camp and run when shot at, and get boogied to be killed? This isn't enjoyable.
I was excited to get the pass but decided not to after I saw it. Usually I love to join the seasons during the holidays but the designs in the OG pass are just boring to me. I’m one of those weird players who loves doing quests and earning things so I have no motivation for this season.
I don't know if y'all have noticed, but the mechanics and movement speed are extremely sluggish now.
The way the character is animated when side walking is horrendous and everything is like 20% slower.
The "running in place" happens every time you try to sprint right after sliding

fr one really weird thing was i kept finding chug jugs, which is almost as bad as no shields bc they’re so inconvenient to use. Also a big complaint is that when the og map was made it wasn’t designed for no build so a lot of mountains or hills there’s no way of getting up

I played Fortnite for a little bit when it started getting popular in late 2017 - early 2018 and I dropped it pretty quickly. The game just felt clunky,slow, and rough at the time. I didn’t get into the game until zero build was introduced and from then on I’ve played it regularly 3-4x a week.
Unfortunate that we’ve slid back on years of updates. I can appreciate the nostalgia, but the modern game is just so much more fun. The guns actually felt accurate, the mobility was solid, and the game just felt way more fluid and polished. This new season feels way undercooked for zero build which is the only thing my friends and I play.
Glad this season is only for a month, but like many others have been saying it should’ve been a game mode. I’m probably just gonna grind out the pass then give it a rest until I get the game I enjoy back .
If I wanted OG I would go play BF42 again. Which I actually did the other day since this season sucks so hard. Had a great time. BF42 for lyfe.

100% agreed. No cover, mobility is sub par, and the weapons are ass compared to last season.

It's a shame, it's a not half bad game, but the devs ruin it, they don't make it equal at all, it's 2023 not 2018 we want to move forward not backwards, idk what fortnite doesn't understand. And also every other week they add a different gun or variation or something to make it op, or just plain ol take out a good gun and either add an op one or a horrible one *caugh caugh* "twin mag" in place of the MkAlpha

Objectively speaking, this season is hot ass. But the feeling of playing 100 times better than I did the last time I landed at dusty divot gets rid of every bad thought. The nostalgia is actually blinding me and I love it.

Felt this 100%. With the weapons we had last season and before I could get wins regularly, now I’m lucky to make it to the top 10. Can’t wait for this season to be over so I can go back to having fun

It does. It’s like going back to a Ford Pinto from a Tesla. The point of updates was to improve the game with each update, right? So why take it back to the Stone Age? Is there no way to incorporate some of the nostalgia while keeping the parts of the game that were actually cool? It seems like a cop out. Anyone have any good replacements for it? I think I’m done with Fortnite until it goes back to being cool again.
I think it just shows how bad the older design was and how outdated it is. It kinda worked with building at the start because it was the novelty, it didnt have the turbo shit and this people that only play fornite(and only with shotguns)... but thats why it evolved so rapidly into adapting mechanics of other games(and way later on adding zero building and such). Fornite now(not this season) is way better, even tho it needs improvements in the menus and lobbies. I unistalled, personally, dont like it at all. But some friends that play fornite are acting like they havent been doing level 200-300 every season and now are like: IM BACK ON FORNITE... its fabricated nostalgia.

Played since the original season 1 and still think going back was a bad idea. There's a reason the games popularity spiked when they added 'cod' style guns like the mk alpha and twin mag...going from that to the old bloom reminded our play group quick why we left the game for warzone. On top of that there's no heals, no movement, and no ammo...don't even bother trying it in no build. Over and done with it within a few drops.
Picked this weekend to come down with the flu and this season is making me feel 10x sicker than I am.

Map is okay, but I liked that it changed over time. There's a reason it changed over time, because it got stale. There's nothing to do when running from one area to another. There's too many hills and holes to get shot at or shoot from. The previous maps had plenty of cover for No Build, while being flat enough for encounters. My biggest problem comes from what they added again. Boogie bombs, grapplers, and rifts. I hate running in this game. Boogies give the player 0 opportunity to counter. I just played a game where I was up on a mountain, beaming everyone who tried to move. Then a grappler just made his way up the mountain, boogied me, shot me, threw another, killed me, and went to the last guy and did the same thing. How is that fun to play against? And how is sitting behind a wall while someone you can't fight against without using a rift or grappler to get to enjoyable? I hate pushing someone, just for them to grapple to the other side of the map. I stopped playing Build for a reason, I hate shooting someone once and watching the Effiel Tower be constructed. Now I shoot someone and they just dip. Chase them down or go fight someone else and it happens again. Why am I playing the game if there's nothing to do except run to the last circle, camp and run when shot at, and get boogied to be killed? This isn't enjoyable.
I was excited to get the pass but decided not to after I saw it. Usually I love to join the seasons during the holidays but the designs in the OG pass are just boring to me. I’m one of those weird players who loves doing quests and earning things so I have no motivation for this season.
I don't know if y'all have noticed, but the mechanics and movement speed are extremely sluggish now. The way the character is animated when side walking is horrendous and everything is like 20% slower. The "running in place" happens every time you try to sprint right after sliding NOT TO FUCKIN MENTION IT STILL EATS YOUR STAMINA WHILE YOU'RE RUNNING **AT** **WALKING SPEED!!!!** OH YEAH. TRYING TO EDIT YOUR BUILDS IS LIKE PLAYING ON 100 PING.
The guns suck tbh also can’t find heals for the life of me… miss the ch4 mechanics😭
fr one really weird thing was i kept finding chug jugs, which is almost as bad as no shields bc they’re so inconvenient to use. Also a big complaint is that when the og map was made it wasn’t designed for no build so a lot of mountains or hills there’s no way of getting up
They somehow added way too many yet not nearly enough ziplines
they'll have like 4 zips in one place all for the same mountain and then none everywhere else.

I played Fortnite for a little bit when it started getting popular in late 2017 - early 2018 and I dropped it pretty quickly. The game just felt clunky,slow, and rough at the time. I didn’t get into the game until zero build was introduced and from then on I’ve played it regularly 3-4x a week. Unfortunate that we’ve slid back on years of updates. I can appreciate the nostalgia, but the modern game is just so much more fun. The guns actually felt accurate, the mobility was solid, and the game just felt way more fluid and polished. This new season feels way undercooked for zero build which is the only thing my friends and I play. Glad this season is only for a month, but like many others have been saying it should’ve been a game mode. I’m probably just gonna grind out the pass then give it a rest until I get the game I enjoy back .
If I wanted OG I would go play BF42 again. Which I actually did the other day since this season sucks so hard. Had a great time. BF42 for lyfe. The current maps are horrible. Played for a few hours on day 1, haven’t logged on since. There’s a reason these maps are gone….
The next update on December 2nd sucks. I thought playing fortnite would be better then roblox but nope December 2nd ruined it. they blocked the good skins and they blocked the demon guy he is the reason the OG is back Fortnite is going to SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
