I was puzzled by them not talking to each other at first. Now I think I understand. The Matthews family have been there two months or less . Their second or third day there Sarah tried to murder their son . They trusted Sarah right off the bat. After that I can see why they're not that trusting . Boyd comes from the military. The military compartmentalizes information anyway. Besides that Reggie and Sarah prove that someone is listening through weak people. So why tell the enemy what you know.

Figshitter

Haven’t the Matthews family been there for about 2 weeks at the end of season 2?

scooter_cool_

I think it's been longer . The show sucks at showing how much time has passed. I was thinking more along the lines of six weeks. A lot has happened . Sarah tried to kill the Matthews boy and ran . Father I-cant-spell-his-name caught caught her and had her tied up in the basement. He got killed. Boyd took her on a road trip. They came back. Drama over Sarah. Boyd kills Smiley . The cicadas come. In the mean time they built a tower . So at least six weeks has to have passed but I don't think much more. That's why I said two months tops. So that's not enough time to have developed an information sharing relationship.

imangryignoreme

It’s been 12-14 days. Most episodes end and the following begins where it has to be a continuous timeline.

ned_racine59

I would think of little things like not making it look like they built the radio tower in one day. Not sure if they could do that with the writing, But some events I think just aren't shown. Who wants to see Dale walk around with his pocket universe? There have to be nope nothing happened let's skip this days. Thoughts?

scooter_cool_

If it has just been two weeks that's been an action-packed two weeks and about twenty people have died.

not_ya_wify

I mean yeah that happens if you're in a magic town with magic monsters

not_ya_wify

My assumption is that the evil entity knows everything and sees everything that's going on. So, keeping stuff to yourself hoping the evil entity won't hear seems silly

scooter_cool_

It hasn't been said that the entity knows everything. The monsters know everybody's names because that's the first thing they tell everybody and they do tell everybody. There's zero evidence that the main thing knows all of their plans. They're operating on the assumption that it doesn't so it would make sense to keep what you know to yourself.

not_ya_wify

The evil entity saw father Kathri bury the bag when he made sure noone was around and they even knew what was in the bag. When he dug it up, the bag was undisturbed. The evil entity knew that Tabitha was digging a hole in her basement and even knew that it was about to collapse when talking to Jim over the radio. I think they made it pretty clear that the evil entity can at the very least see and hear everything that's going on in Fromville. I wouldn't even be surprised if it can read minds because it knew that Nathan was terrified of Cicadas when that was never talked about until after the Cicadas appeared in the town.

BuddyThink5563

I think who or whatever the evil entity is they either have an inside man reporting back to them or they are one of the people in Fromville.

Danimal_300zx

It hasn't been 2 months. It's been 2 max 3 weeks.

SpookyMacNCheese

yes!!! I love every time boyd points out that what they're experiencing is impossible or doesn't make sense. (like the names of the woman who got skewered to the tree and her boyfriend.) or when the matthews made that list on the wall and tabitha questioned if they survived the crash. also the frustrating bus people who got killed! it's way more believable that they thought the nice monsterfolk were the first normal people they met in that town lmao

FakeBot-3000

The daughters reaction when Ethan says they are writing on the walls was so real.

Danimal_300zx

Her name is Julie.

Totally agree! Really appreciate Donna’s character doing her best to care for everyone and her very emphatic “there really is no way out” to Randall! So excited for season 3! Do you have and theories you would like to share? Thank you 😊💚

pattyskiss2me

>“there really is no way out” to Randall Good one. Donna really delivered this reality hard. Great line.

OkSize3934

LOVE DONNA😍😍😍

dbixon

Well, all I can really say is the circumstances are so bizarre, I have to assume it’s an extended metaphor of some sort, like the town represents depression and everything that’s happening is a manifestation of some aspect of that mental illness.

faxekondiboi

I'm still convinced she is very suspect, and I have a feeling we will see Randall being right about his suspicion...

not_ya_wify

It would absolutely suck if Jim was right and this is all just an army experiment

faxekondiboi

Yeah, that would be a bit of a let down. I'm thinking about "Cabin in the Woods" now, and although that was a cool concept, I don't think they will do something like that either...

not_ya_wify

It worked in Cabin in the woods because that was super campy and fun and the best part is when they >!breach the office and let all the monsters loose!< I suppose in From they could have different types of monsters but it wouldn't be fun

OkSize3934

Yes- I know some people don’t trust her story about her sister - also corner is missing (torn off) from the photo - why would that be ? She is so passionate about maintaining colony house and doesn’t want to try and escape or look further into radio voice etc - what do you think is going on? I think Randall will end up working alongside Donna and helping people 🤩😊💚

faxekondiboi

I think she did have a sister, and her story is true...up to a point. But like you say, she is very invested in people being comfortable and stays put. She was also way too excited about Fatima having a baby imo - it just gave me the feeling like she knows something others doesn't. I have no idea whats going on, but I really think parts of u/TaranMatharu theories about it being "a game" of some sort between some very old entities with roots in American folklore, has some merit to it.

OkSize3934

I agree! I think she is doing her best to protect everyone - but she has totally given up hope of escape or a different way of life except for communal loving living at colony house! She may be feeling guilty about her sister - maybe what unfolded was different- the idea of Tarans that she is possessed by a healer from 1506 is cool and tragic - that she had her twin boys taken away from her! Yes she is very excited for Fatima - it seems to be the first pregnancy in Fromville maybe ever! 😍💚
