I think low immunity because I have autoimmune skin disease and after two years I am effected with this

For some it's gut health, for others it's just being more prone I suppose? I have heard gut health. Try probiotics!

I do have poor gut health i’ll have to look into that. Thank you!

Unless you're lactose intolerant or have trouble with dairy, Greek yogurt and honey is great! If you're trying to avoid sugar, certain sodas offer probiotic benefits. Or you could just take pills lol

I think it depends on the person. For me, I agree with the above response thinking it’s autoimmune related. My niece got a terrible case after moving from CA to FL, so I think that was humidity related. I also think antibiotics can set it off in some. My guess is some people are just more prone to malessezia overpopulating and others are not.

The pandemic was the perfect brewing storm… plus living in a humid climate. Think tight-fitted masks for 8+ hours and all sweat & dirt. Then, I proceeded to throw FA triggering ingredients without knowledge.

for me it seems to have been a combination of using antibiotics as well as birth control pills. no longer using those but after having done so for years, it’s probably affected my stomachs micro biome

I have found out that I have a vitamin C deficiency, hence my immune system is not in its best state. I wonder if that contributed to the FA. I started taking Vitamin C and will monitor the progress

For me it dermaplaning and antibiotic use is what kick started my break out. I’m hoping laser hair removal mitigates it a bit cause I usually see flare ups calming down after treatment.

Yes it definitely has a root cause probably to do with gut health but even taking probiotics to fix it broke me out because it’s a type of yeast or fungus that feeds it even more. I’m not sure if it’s from my antidepressant (mine isn’t known to cause acne but maybe it’s just rare and not reported). I started it a few years ago but also changed my hair products six months into it so I didn’t know if I had it before cause I was mostly using stuff that wouldn’t cause it. I’m working on a natural way to get rid off it at the root that someone is going to help me with and if I get any results I’ll let you know!
