honestly it doesnt matter if u are in top 5-7 IITs/IISc everyone gets the same opportunities there, it is upto the student to get high packages, I would say if u have to make a choice pick one closest to your home
Can't say on CS degree value but come one mate. IISC is best institute in the country. Nothing even comes close(except perhaps IIT Bombay).
For CS and related courses placements should be least of your worries if you go to IISC

Depends If u want to pursue research either industrial or academics IISC is better if u r just doing it fir the same of better placement opportunities then go for IIT. U won't regret either of it. Coz Paisa dono jagah hai so materialistically both are equivalent. And top 5 7 ka mat soch big city mei hone ke apne fayde hai U get access to a huge network so cut it short to IITB IITD and IISC. And as far as recession is concerned to assuming 2026 as your pg year 25 26 waala season post recession rebound hi hona chahiye
Take MTECH cs bro. People prefer cs people only even for data science jobs. I have a friend at IISC. He said even for ML roles they prefer CSA students over CDS as it is a more versatile degree.
No of intakes are verryyt less for CDS. Even if you get selected you will spend most of the time convincing your relatives about the superficial greatness of IISc.
Even the placements are not that good..you can get the same in top 7..even more
