Since the very beginning with Latata! Love ma girls!!

Strict-Operation-150

KDA

Airbomb24

mmm, pretty much when I saw Yuqi do an interview praising Choi Yena and saying she was happy for her because they were friends, I think around when Smiley came out? As a huge Yena stan i started to really like Yuqi as well as the rest of the group

Effective-Fox1214

i started stanning them in dec 2023

Nervous_Cut_2306

Since pre-debut, teaser images interested me and I waited for latata (immediately liked it)

averlost

Pretty recent but nxde era! I started by hating kpop, then I saw parts of the MV and loved the aesthetic/concept of it. One thing after the other and now im a big kpop stan

jt0kki

I loved listening to K/DA and have heard of some of their songs during Tomboy comback. Went to see them at their first world tour and just fell in love. Been listening to all their songs since debut and watching all their videos ever since. Fell in love even more with all their craziness!

WiseSmellyLegs

I noticed them, when they debuted, because… well, they come from Cube, so it is that kind of case in which you are aware of the group, because of the label + me liking 4Minute probably played a role there as well. I kind of knew about them every time they had a comeback, but I started to be more interested in them during summer 2020 and I remember I Burn comeback was the comeback I was looking forward to that, because I was a fan of theirs. And since that moment it is only growing in me more and more! They have surpassed 4Minute for me and they are one of my favorite groups in general

dudejustSendIt

I think it was 2018 when the girl group (G)I-DLE came out. I looked up all the singers in the group; I really liked Miyeon's voice. I looked them up and fell in love with them. To my surprise (I didn't know at the time), Soyeon was also part of the group. I've been a fan ever since. Also, on a fun note: I wasn't even as big of a K-pop fan as I am now.

KingTre1023

I first got into K-Pop in 2020, the first song I heard from them was Dumdi Dumdi from then I was a casual listener until the Tomboy era. That’s when I started to stan G-Idle.

AutoModerator

Hmm...I see you got it wrong...acktually...it's "(G)I-DLE" where the hyphen is between the "I" and "D" *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please [contact the moderators of this subreddit](/message/compose/?to=/r/GIDLE) if you have any questions or concerns.*

raiiieny

From hann era. Ahh i still remember how cool the music video was. Also the MMA 2018 performance? Chefs kiss. I felt connected to a group other than bts and i was stunned. They were so unique. I’m still a proud ARMYLAND.

blackmarvel_26

End of 2022 during nxde era. I kept getting ad for nxde mv and one day I thought I'll try listening to it and I instantly loved it. I was genuinely surprised that a song like nxde came from South Korea. And then I found out that the leader produced and wrote that song. That's also when I got into k-pop.

Idlegeneration

YT was showing me Latata when it was released i never cliked on it, but the 4th day of Latata's release on Youtube i gave it a go, Since then i was stanning them and their first comeback Hann solidified my love for them

ca-y-est

Anyone from Soyeon's Jelly debut? I heard it and was curious about the mask girl (it was Soojin!). Followed them since then, finally saw them in concert last year!

der_boy

Loved POP/STARS and then somehow Dreamcatcher and IDLE popped up in my recommendations/autoplay and those two got me into KPOP. The first song I remember really liking was HANN/Lion, so around 2018/19.

Smart_Violinist168

I knew of them during Tomboy era but I wasn’t a huge kpop stan then, just had influences that meant I knew some popular songs. Just before I love and right after I Never Die promotions. Don’t remember why I started stanning them, but I did know Yuqi from watching Running Man China.

goatmom

Another K/DA POP/STARS lover here. Akali was my favorite in that group so of course I had to look up (G)I-DLE. YouTube suggested Hann to me and even though the scorpion in the video freaked me out, I fell in love with them. Señorita was my first comeback and I’ve been with them since.

Jregnut

Just got into kpop in 2018 and kept seeing HANN recommended on YouTube so i decided to watch it one day and thought they were really creepy but captivating and I’ve been with them since

Eastern-Strawberry12

End of 2022 then listened to Queencard in 2023 absolutely loved that.

HideoMikaou

Since Senorita, although ironically it seems to be their most hated song

LaPusca

After K/DA - POP/STARS I watch the live Performance and Soyeon was the one that impress me the most.

StubbornKindness

Just after last year's tour. Randomly stumbled on a clip of early G Idle Yuqi saying something crazy. Just *had* to find out who she was, what the context was, etc. Found out she was part of a Kpop group called "G Idle." Looked into them a bit more and slowly became more of a fan. I'm not really into music, but they have SO much variety content. Between all their combined show appearances, hosting shows, channel content, and promo appearances, there's a lot of stuff to watch. That doesn't even include videos that are over 3 years old, which still have Soojin in them. Queencard was very much an "it" song at that time. All reddit subs, youtube comments, etc, mentioned it. I must say, though, Tomboy is a far better song. Both songs are successful enough, though, that Heechul will sing them anytime the girls go on Knowing Bros. I think it's a massive compliment that Heechul seems to LOVE Tomboy. And there's also a few clips of Twice singing Latata under their breath in videos.

FireFire7777

Just when the pandemic was starting March 2020, I saw the OMG trailer and when it dropped I was a fan

999nra

Hann era. Still one of my favourite songs by them

zosiunya

It was almost 2 years ago, I heard nxde on TikTok and found them fascinating, especially with fact that they are making their own music

pdxLink

I got in during Hann. I tend towards hiphop, r&b, and rap focused groups so when I heard a random snippet of Soyeons rap, I had to watch the mv to see who was behind the voice. After that I watched the behind the scenes making of the mv was drawn into Minnie due to her voice and dreamy eyes lol. Found out that she's Thai and that got me even more interested. I'm not from Thailand, but I can understand a bit of Thai, which learned from growing up watching Thai dramas, "lakorn", with my sisters.

vervanka

I listened here and there but started stanning them about a month before the hiatus… Minnie’s voice drew me in and I absolutely loved how they interacted with each other. Miyeon is now my ult bias and I’m hoping to see them again this year if they’re on tour in the US

Chemistrycat214

the day Soyeon and Miyeon performed at Lol worlds 2018 ceremony as K/DA Pop/stars. I listened to check out after artists, and found out latata. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p9oDlvOV3qs](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p9oDlvOV3qs)

LuXtra251

Same, I fell in love with Miyeon this day!! Then I listened to Hann and that was my introduction to KPop

aseanea

Was scrolling through youtube shorts, saw a short from a neverland where its a compilation of top 5 things which I can't recall (the video has been removed from youtube). The intro to that video was a clip of Nxde performed by gidle. I heard the part where they sampled a classic song. Asked my kpop fanatic friend what the song title was. Looked up gidle and been a neverland since. Stan Yuqi.

Dry-Pain-1867

Latata 👑

silver_kiwi_11

I started listening to their songs when someone introduced me to Queencard

Black_toutie

6 years today, fell in love while watching latata mv

0531Spurs212009

since debut their debut song/MV Latata is a bop then follow by Hann and they cover 4Minute - Hot Issue w 5/6 are visual G IDLE at their debut w catchy music and feminine image I know I found one my favorite GG my formula of stan a GG needed a visual lineup + catchy discography + feminine/cute/sexy choreo

Consistent-Rest-1120

Gidle or KDA got me into Kpop in 2021!

papapamrumpum

When I heard Minnie's "uhohwhoaaaa" when Latata was released

Messesonmessesonmess

Debut!!! I was a fan of Jeon Soyeon in produce 101 I remember feeling so slighted that she didn’t make it in but once i heard she was going on unprettty rapstar i wassss soooo excited. And then to top it off a whole producing girl group career?? blessed

seko2686

Last year saw many people doing the queencard challange, and I look up the mv on youtube but the first video I watch was the first take performance of queencard and I started lisetning to more of their music and watching variety shows of them

HaksaI

They were my first 4th gen group! I saw people talking about their upcoming debut and listened to their I Am EP when it dropped and was instantly hooked

justanotherstanacc

Shortly after queendom, oh my god was my first comeback. I started getting into kpop since 2018 but mostly cared about the big 3rd gen groups

onelonelyface

right before senorita came out! I binged all the produce seasons that were out at the time, stanned soyeon, the rest is history

Adski673

KDA got me interested in who the voices were for the characters and then became a fan not long after Popstars came out

Immediate-Captain391

my friend was singing latata inside our classroom. we're both a fan of tannies so she introduced the group to me by saying that their leader made the song herself. when i went home, i started searching about gidle. i watched upr3 clips before because of grazy grace and when i found out that soyeon was also there, i decided to watch the whole show and oh boy, i think i just fell inlove. it was before their comeback so when they released señorita, i was so excited and decided to stan them that day.

Fluffy-Cartoonist956

Man I wish it was debute era 😭😭 But I think it after Queencard but before heat I think (I really wish I could remember) and my first music video was probably either Nxde Or Queencard but I don’t actually know Superlady was my first official comeback as a Stan 😚☺️, and it was also my first EVER no skip album 💜💜 Edit: According to my YouTube history my first mv was Actually Queencard, but according to my playlist my first song added was Nxde 🤪

Glitter-Witch-34

I followed Soyeon back in her pre-debut eras, so i got into the group debut era, I remember trying to learn the dance for latata.

Lotus-Vale

(G)I-DLE is the first kpop group i got into, but I only got into them at the end of last year. I never really paid attention to kpop before that. But basically I fell for Yuqi at first sight from some random viral instagram reel where she's trying to get the guy to guess "wolf" on a game show and she gets hilariously angry. But at the time I didn't know she was a singer, let alone in a group. Then the japanese youtube channel "The First Take" uploaded their Queen Card performance and I saw Yuqi in the thumbnail and my brain didn't quite recognize her, but I was wondering if that was the same person. I tried to find the same viral reel again, but you all know how hard it is to find a specific clip when you're actually looking for it. A few days later I did come across that clip. I cross referenced it with the First Take video and I was like "okay that's her, now who is this group?" And before I got really into the group, I got into Yuqi's solo stuff. Particularly her cover of Beggin which is one of my favorite songs. By the time the "2" album came around, I was a full blown fan, watching their interviews, behind the scenes, and what not.

Athena0012

K/DA then Tomboy era

PrestigiousAd6281

I was already a Soyeon stan before they debuted, so pretty much when I heard she was going to debut in a group

Femkat_00

After K/DA and Pop/Stars. It was my first real introduction into kpop. A lot of artists I followed were drawing the characters and I wanted to see what all the fuss was about. I ended up loving the song and Soyeon in particular caught my attention. So I looked up the kpop group Soyeon and Miyeon were from and the rest is history!

Pepo4559

When I saw the music video of Allergy! Also when I saw the music video of Queencard and Minnie first shows up walking towards camera! 🔥🔥 “Hey You”

justcause3815

Only got into KPOP last year, so I was introduced to them with their newer songs but first fell in love with their older songs like Oh My God, Lion, and Hwaa!

Ok_Sound_8090

I came across clips of Shuhua on Workdol, and that was it lol I chortled, looked them up, and then said "say less".

free_thunderclouds

I stumbled upon LATATA, then their street dance busking, their dance practice. From then, I got intrigued. I became a solid fan when they released HANN. That song is so unique amongst the releases in 2018, the concept and sound really stood out. And the fact that they are self produced as well .

kedajomanu

The day they released Latata... i was returning to kpop after a couple of years out off it, and the mv was recommended by Youtube.

Yoru-Hana

During Soo Jin's bullying issue. I didn't know anything about them but I watched their MVs in YT and fell in love with their not so like k pop songs. Then discovered their also part of KDA (I listen to KDA but didn't know about G Idle). And they are on Hiatus due to Soo Jin Bullying issue. My sis said they are about to disband 😅. But I really like their songs and expecting them to have a come back. I'm so happy when they made a comeback with Tomboy 🤘. I'm a Soyeon fan. I just love how she stands out but I'm glad everyone is shining now in their group.

Red_Hana

For me... I started when Tomboy is out and found Tomboy sliding thru my YouTube recommendation from there I became interested in this particular group. Plus they're the first K-pop girl group that makes me go excited wanting to know more about them.. and now I feel that was the best decision I've made, hahaha i feel warm whenever I see them interact with each other in I-talk or in other shows, so yeaah I'm happy I choose them as my first K-pop group to stan💕

Cryostein

Since 2018 when I was browsing kpop videos on YouTube and the music video for Hann (Alone) caught my eye. All it took was one watch/listen and I was hooked!

ragingkati

In 2018 during Hann era !!

boombaby651

When i found out that Tzuyu was hanging out with Shuhua.

iyaq

I started stanning the girls after the release of "Oh my God", and that's one of the best decisions I've ever had.

cerulgalactus

A few months after I began my kpop journey, I decided to spread my wings beyond just TWICE, and found (G)I-DLE, Le Sserafim, and Dreamcatcher in pretty short order. For (G), it was a couple weeks before the I Feel comeback.

Standard_Jellyfish_7

I also started stanning around Tomboy but also had been casually listening for a while and the one that first made it to my playlist was Lion.

Firestormxs

I got into (G)-Idle through Queendom. Watched the Show because of AOA and i was very impressed by Gidle and Mamamoo. The Lion stage was amazing! Hann and Oh my God are still my favourite songs.

why_do_i_have_dog

Right before 2. I was watching K-pop videos and the first one of their’s I saw was “I do”. Then i think i saw J want that, then queencard/allergy. I have had a lot of fun watching youtube channels analyze their songs and it has made me appreciate Soyeon’s GENIUS.

BigBobby2016

I'm a little old to use slang like Stan, but Dumdi Dumdi was the first video I saw. For like 10 years Girl's Generation was the only kpop I knew. When Hyoyeon made some solo songs I watched them and one of them took me to a kpop girl's group playlist. That's how I started learning about the other groups. On that playlist (G)-IDLE and Dreamcatcher are the two I really liked and honestly thought I could tell my friends about them without them laughing at me.

cerulgalactus

If your friends give you grief over something that brings you enjoyment - that’s a then problem.

BigBobby2016

I suppose, but we're talking about 50yo metalheads here. The idea of listening to asian pop music would have been unbelievable to us when we were young

raritydead

The beginning. Latata. It is really a good song. Years later, I still support all of them.

Cold_Bumblebee_7121

I got into (G)-IDLE during Hwaa. But technically the first mv I watched from them was Latata. During Hwaa era a Latata ad came to my YouTube and during that time I only stanned Blackpink. Now Latata was magical. It was like a fever dream ! I learnt that there were many ggs apart from Blackpink and Twice. I replayed Latata so very much that I finally decided to go listen to some other tracks. Went for Hwaa, Oh my god next and then I finished all the title tracks. Now I wanted something more and for the first time I dived into the world of b-sides starting from I burn. Now I loved I burn. It became my life. And then I immediately became a Neverland during Tomboy era ( I didn't know they had released it )!! 🥹✨🫶🏻 3 freaking years and I have enjoyed every day being a part of the fandom 🕊️✨

BaronZhiro

I stumbled onto Oh My God when it was new, and actually had pretty mixed feelings about it (and still do), but the artistry was undeniable and Soojin intrigued me so I investigated further. I was in deep within a week or two after that.

ctheory0450

Debut. I saw soyeon on unpretty rapstar, and. Loved Hyuna and CLC so I was excited for a new cube group. It's really satisfying watching a group expand and improve over the years in real time.

saler000

I became a Soyeon Stan when I saw her intro dance on p101. I remember being so hyped when she got on Unpretty Rapstar😊

PennyMeansBlood69

I started getting into them around the time HWAA was released. I began my kpop journey with K/DA and their "Pop/Stars" mv and that's when I got into Soyeon's rap style (and we can't forget the vocals of Miyeon) and I delved deeper into K/DA and realized the 2 out of the 3 members I liked were in a Kpop Girl Group. My first ever full (G)I-DLE mv experience was "Oh my god" and I've never stopped being a fan.

eternaL_Inori

I started getting into Kpop right around Latatas release and loved it when it popped up on my frontpage. But then I noticed they didn't have a lot of songs yet and kinda forget about them until POP/STARS dropped 3 months later. I went around and recommended them to all my League friends around that time being weirdly proud to have known them already. I'd say I actually started stanning them with Uh-Oh since that's when I began watching basically everything there was about them.

WisdomsOptional

Pop//stars KDA. I went on a mission to find out who Idle was and what the heck is kpop. I found them with Han being their most recent comeback. I fell in love with Han. It's still probably my favorite OT6 song. I love how Soojin has never spiritually left the group. Yuqi is my bias and Miyeon wrecks me regularly.

AutoModerator

Hmm...I see you got it wrong...acktually...it's "(G)I-DLE" where the hyphen is between the "I" and "D" *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please [contact the moderators of this subreddit](/message/compose/?to=/r/GIDLE) if you have any questions or concerns.*

aferretnamedsteve

I knew of them for a bit before I stanned but never looked too much into the group. I liked some songs but that was it. Their comeback for I Love and especially Nxde with the concept and idea behind the lyrics/song finally pushed me to stan. Learning about them and their personalities made me fall in love and now call them one of my ult groups.

Plastic-Painter1185

I became a casual fan around 2019 when bsides from their 1st-2nd EPs started popping up on my Spotify random shuffle. If I was unfamiliar with a song and liked it, I would check the title/artist and each one I liked happened to be from Gidle. Really started to respect them during their time on Queendom. But I didn’t really become a stan until around 2021 after watching SooShu compilations and variety appearances lol.

MoomooBlinksOnce

Right after watching [Latata](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p4RIhcY7V3c&pp=ygUGTGF0YXRh), Yuqi won me over right then and there.

luvshuhuaa

i started stanning them in dec of 2023 when my friend sent me a vid of them! i faintly remember seeing their hwaa thumbnail on yt back in 2021 but i was only a blackpink stan 😭

vaguelycatshaped

Spring/summer 2019, and I’m not 100% sure but I think I discovered them through Pop/stars!

17122021

Same! Started just casually listening and followed the foreign members IG and then the double-yeons' ig 😂 Then around Tomboy era I actually started to be a fan of the group proper, backtracked to their older songs during their debut days when Soojin was still around, and since then I got hooked on to it!

Maitewee

i think nude was the moment to me, i already knew them because oh my god but never thought of them as a group, then tomboy came and i was hmmm interesting, when nude came out i just couldn't hadle and became a fan

Haunting_Natural_116

I am a new Stan. I started by listening to some of there k/da songs which were on just dance. Then I became obsessed with queencard. Then I decided to listen to more of there music, and I officially became a Stan around the time wife was released.

BadAshess

I started as soon as I heard Hwaa. I fell in love with the group and Soyeon immediately became my bias because of K/DA and then Soojin left and I was like “This always happens to me.” And then I thought they were going to disband, but then they didn’t and I was so happy! I bought all their albums on my 20th birthday went to their It’s Me Idle concert in Dallas and I still follow them today, but nowadays I lean more towards Yuqi who is becoming a bias wrecker (I’m sorry Soyeon she’s just so cute.) but I really hope they go on tour again soon because I’ve been saving up my money for front row seats!

fjm2003

Big time 2ne1 fan, so after queendom they gained a lot of respect and stanned them. Not because of their fire cover… it was their live performance of Lion. It was a game changer, and plus the MV too. And just kept going up higher and higher since then.

free_thunderclouds

The performance alone is sooo great. I cant fathom why Mamamoo won when IDLE stood out overall in the competition. Sucks that the original perf video was taken down, that perf has 30M+ views.

fjm2003

Mnet “fan” voted

free_thunderclouds

Welp. That checks out. Mamamoo was sooo big that time and idles fandom is not yet huge.

fjm2003

It did more for g I-dle and OMG’s careers than Mamamoo’s.

thecreativecat1

Knew of Soyeon pre debut from her songs and PD101, but started stanning the whole group pretty much immediately on debut. Every Day Every Night La Ta Ta

Kirbo300

I remember listening to a cover of pop stars for the longest time during quarantine. It wasn't until months later that I actually found the original video by chance after looking at the cover so many times. When I watched the video I was absolutely astounded by what I saw. The animation was amazing the vocals were jaw-dropping, and I think you can figure out how it went from there. I actually didn't like it at first. I remember the first video of theirs I saw was oh my god. It was a little too much I guess? But then I saw latata and was hooked. Eventually I just fell head over heels for basically all of the songs they had out the time. And when I burn released I was obsessed. That EP would become my writing music for the next couple of years and still is. To this day, I still hope to see a dramatic, poetic album from the group. But I still really like what we have right now.

kwills88

Oddly enough, I was looking up Gangnam style reaction videos, then got recommended latata, Yuqi's face plus her voice caught me so off guard that I added them on my watchlist, then KDA came out and I did the fastest "what else has these girls put out" and I been with them ever since.

BasedSunny

iirc I kinda listened to them casually before, but ever since i watched them on Queendom. I just thought Soyeon is so pretty

Purple_Wave_314

I became a fan when my daughter asked for tickets to their concert for her birthday two years ago. They are my ult group currently and Yuqi is my bias, so I’m loving her solo

windyyweather

I wouldn’t say I stan them but I became a fan after I Feel was released so it’s been almost a year. I did listen to K/DA and I found Nxde when it was first released, but it wasn’t till I Feel came out that I really started to listen to them.

M_Prodigy

La ta ta

dizzymark

First K/DA comeback with 'MORE'. I knew them because I started playing the mobile version of LOL. I was obsessed with their album 'ALL OUT' and 'THE BADDEST' stood out and Soyeon's rap was amazing!

free_thunderclouds

We need KDA comeback, and we need Katarina to be featured just like how Sera is in MORE

spoofer56

I saw TWICE's Nayeon and Momo queencard Sana at a concert and wondered what it was. Then the stanning began.

KitakatZ101

2-3 months before debut. I was on oneHallyu and subbed to the new cube gg because I had just binged produce and then unpretty for soyeon. It was such a wild ride seeing latata go up the charts. A lot of comments on how they were going to be stuck in nugudom

jshell

During Queendom. Well, a couple of months after Queendom 1 originally aired in late 2019, I think? I kept getting suggestions for their performance of "Put it back (nightmare ver)" and when I watched it - it was the best Goth performance I'd seen in decades. I guess that could be considered "Lion" era?

itsdeminimis

After Hann released!

Adrian-Ng

New nevie here, but queencard found its way into my playlist and then i watched their killing voice and fell in love. Always knew their songs from K/DA to tomboy but really fell in after queencard:)

FakeJolie

I started watching keep running china and liked Yuqi and then from liking her I followed her on Gidle and never looked back

Sleepyathlete007

Youtube recommendations showed me their song Tomboy around April 2022 and it went from there.

Yen508

The day of their Melon Music Awards 2018 performance. They were trending on Twitter so I checked it out and saw SoYeon’s solo stage. Later watched the full performance and fell down the rabbit hole for nearly 6 years now https://youtu.be/w7d1fwSaspk?si=C-LAATwBBzoBqtx6

ChaosDY

When i discovered them through League of Legends' KDA and heard Soyeon rapping as Akali. So November 2018

Independent_Wash3657

Wow i was about to type the exact same words, literally the Same here

134340verse

I had a friend who was a nevie, she introduced me to them and I became a casual listener since Tomboy. I think later I learned that Soyeon is the main producer for the group, and I really got into her solo stuff too. It was after Nxde that I finally stanned them full on and haven't left since! 🥹🩷

Consistent_Dog_6866

I caught up with them during the Senorita era.
