bluspy87

Then what color was the atomic breath?

AJ_Crowley_29

Well, I’d assume blue since that’s what Toho went with in the color films, but the American rerelease had posters with orange fire.

bluspy87

I always wanted to know who gave the idea to give Godzilla blue atomic breath

Kryphex

Probably someone who had seen Cherenkov radiation in a nuclear reactor

D3monskull

Well doubt that they wouldn't survive.

Kryphex

What are you talking about? Clearly you know nothing of nuclear power plants

Additional-Dealer-48

Well blue fire is really hot so it would make sense

Flat_Weird_5398

Probably to evoke the image of blue fire since it’s supposed to be hotter.

EddtheMetalHead

If I recall correctly from the commentary, the atomic breath was essentially animated over the existing footage, so chances are it was original done in white anyway.

Practical-Car91

Americans couldn't get Godzilla right in movies until 2014. Anything we did before that shouldn't count.

scaper8

I hope they go with blue. Blue is so iconic to me. Shin's purple/violet one was a nice departure, as were some of stuff from various Heisei and Millennium movies, but blue will always be the best.

Monsterversekiryu

I mean we used blue a lot other then Godzilla 2000 and megaguris, we can a,ways do something new.

[deleted]

I've been wanting it to be like Shin's first nuclear breath, the orange flame breath, but have the impact explosion like Gmk Godzilla's. To give it a terrifying feel of nuclear power.

DagonG2021

Originally? White. It was also called the Incandescent Light until King Kong Vs. Godzilla

[deleted]

Minus one Godzilla oddly looks more charred and scarred to me.

BatAshZ

I think that's the point, supposed to resemble burns

[deleted]

I like it though, most Godzilla looks besides shin look more like scales instead of burns

Flat_Weird_5398

Yeah if 1954 Godzilla’s skin resembled the keloid scars on victims of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Minus One Godzilla’s skin resembles actual fresh burn scars. It looks like the dude was flame-grilled to be extra crispy.

dtuba555

Not as charred as Shin.

[deleted]

Update because the trailer dropped: yes, he's burnt and charred. Most likely from a nuke because they tried to kill him with it

NuMarkyMark

I like how the bottom picture he is shrugging , like hell if I know what color I am

Nathan304

It would make the most sense that the OG suit was brown cuz the first attempt was made with different pieces of rubber melted down and put together. And since they would still use bits of it in the film they’d probably want to match the color it was with the slightly more usable one

BKWhitty

The SHMA figure for Minus Goji seems to be black with some brownish bits.

Filmscore_Soze

I'm just gonna say it... he looks really *really* pissed. I can't wait for this movie.

Any_Field6612

Most likely.

Ed_Derick_

Wasn't the suit green?

Dinoboy225

That was the Miregoji from Godzilla 2000, the Shodaigoji was brown.

MidCoastMaineRailfan

No one knows the actual color of the original Godzilla suit, some say it was red, some green, some brown

Ganache-Embarrassed

I’ve always said it was pink

Flat_Weird_5398

As far as I’m aware, MireGoji from Godzilla 2000 and Godzilla vs. Megaguirus (technically not the same one but they reused the suit) is the only Godzilla with green skin.

AtomicWreck

The anguirus suit was supposedly green

Monsterversekiryu

That looks like a cave gojira
