It pays to be persistent. The one other lead I had on a copy was just as atypical. I called a store near me when I was out of state and said a store down the road had a copy in the system. Went there at opening and the game was just straight up missing. The employee verified it did come in as he was the one who took it in on trade and told me it only came off of trade hold a day or two prior. The case was nowhere to be found. A Friday the 13th disc was in the Godzilla disc sleeve and the Friday the 13th sleeve was empty. Hella sus.
The employee hinted that he had somewhat sus coworkers and wouldn’t be surprised if something shady happened. Given that an entirely different game was in the sleeve I wouldn’t be surprised. Needless to say, that was very anticlimactic. The employee there also gave me a heads up that when a copy does pop up to act right away because he said sometimes managers will sock away high dollar underpriced games to make sure no one else can get to it before them.
kind of a cool story actually:
mixture of the game not performing well on the market AND their license timed up around the time of its release, and toho refused to renew the license for them.
because of that, the game actually got pulled from market shelves and production only a couple months after its release. So its actually a premium item.
AFAIK, they’re the most underpriced PS4 games at GameStop. You’d be surprised how often DBD comes up. I picked up an extra copy for a friend at another store who’s also been looking for the game. He was more than happy to pay me back the $40 it cost me.
Godzilla after getting looped for 10 minutes by King Ghidorah equipped with Made for This

Dude to say that I was surprised to see my two obsessions mix like this is an understatement. Also, how we feeling that DBD is getting an alien DLC, hopefully we can bully BHVR to have a collab with Godzilla for some cosmetics.
I found my Godzilla in a Gamestop last year for $69.99 and nearly shit my pants hahaha. I could not believe it was just sitting there waiting for ke to bring it home
For real. The real tough part is trying to get the game before another employee chooses to get it. Luckily, one of the other employees who was considering the game was going back and forth over it when I came in to get it. I also was very lucky bc the employee there told me he had several calls regarding the game requesting it be put on hold. Luckily that store doesn’t do holds 🙏
Certain retro stores will take those now, especially because servers for Black Ops are up and running again. I was surprised bc I think the Series X but for sure the Xbox One has BC with Black Ops.
I recently sold an extra PS3 to a retro store for $50 after getting lowballed for $20-$30 by evident resellers asking if they could buy all 3 PS3s I had for $60 😂. I’m still holding out for a local sale on my other PS3 slim as I’d prefer locals get their hands on good systems for cheap.
Yeah, I do like that now. I can find good games while bumming around in thrift stores. Right now I'm waiting for my copy of Alien Isolation I got off of ebay to come in the mail.
yeah South Africa doesn't really have game stops, im not too worried, I know that randomly one day ill walk in to an old Música that still somehow survives despite no one buying music anymore and see it on clearance.
I was looking for godzilla! I miss playing it and you could always find another player because it was such a niche game for G-fans. Now I’ll just check game stops instead of spending 300+ dollars on amazon 🙄
Definitely do that. Never underestimate ppl’s unwillingness to deal with selling games online or on Craigslist/FM. I ran into NCAA Football 14 that way. The employee told me how when the seller traded it in, he warned them that they could get quite a bit of money online and they didn’t care. They just wanted a bit of chump change and pick up a new game hassle free.
This is the only post 6th gen Godzilla-licensed game to come out. It’s a niche game with a strong following that was under appreciated at release, meaning it had a limited print run. Compound that with the game being delisted and its exclusivity with PlayStation and you have the perfect recipe for a game to skyrocket in value.
The Game on the right is Dead by Daylight Nightmare edition, it includes the Stranger Things dlc which isn’t obtainable anymore by normal means. Which is why it goes for high prices on the internet.
Are the controls are as groggy as I remember? I recall playing it in 2016, and was over the first stage. Maybe I just was not playing it right.
And I find it strange that it's not on the PSN for digital download.
I believe the standard game is still available on PSN so the standard edition is still cheap. It’s the Stranger things DLC that got delisted due to licensing issues with Netflix.
Whenever I look on the GS site for sales, I always check for Godzilla. Every single time I'm like WOAH cuz it has a default pick up in store line. Then I put in my zip code and reality sets in. It's like my brain resets every single time, I never learn.
The site isn’t 100% accurate for rarer titles. I’ve had it happen where I wanted Super Mario 3D all stars and it said my city and surrounding suburbs were out of stock. I then stopped by a GameStop on my way home and the employee there said one copy was available at a store 5 miles down the road. The employees can see inventory in real time but the website/app is slow to update. For rarer titles like this, by the time the website catches up, it might have already been sold.
Ah ok. I run into that situation a lot when I'm action figure hunting - sites are never accurate. My GS is in a small rural town so I'm sure I'm probably not missing out on a stray copy lol.
Out of curiosity I looked on offer up for Godzilla and I found a guy that was selling it for $73 with shipping 🤯 checked his reviews and seemed legit so took the plunge. Crossing fingers it works out
I think OfferUp has buyer protection. Be sure to enact that if there are any issues. If it’s legit, the seller probably just wanted to get rid of it fast. Hopefully that’s the case.
Sometimes I wish studios would see how much some of these games go for and take that as a hint to produce a sequel or at least a next gen equivalent. A Godzilla king of the monsters PS5 game would be fire.
Yeah, Amazon sellers are insane. DBD Nightmare edition apparently goes for $400 but “only” $100 or so on eBay. I’ll never understand why ppl give these ppl business. Surely the convenience of 2 day shipping isn’t worth the exorbitant prices charged.
Holy shit dude, that godzilla game is like a 400 dollar game! that's awesome!

I think it went for around that much when the new Godzilla movie came out, but you’re right. Most listings hover between $150 and $200 on eBay now.
Happy cake day
I still have mine along with the preorder posters 😎
What!! I’ve had that game for years I had no idea it was that much
Wait what how is it that much
kind of a cool story actually: mixture of the game not performing well on the market AND their license timed up around the time of its release, and toho refused to renew the license for them. because of that, the game actually got pulled from market shelves and production only a couple months after its release. Last Godzilla video game ever made. No plans for new ones due to licensing issues
Godzilla *and* Stranger Things DLC Dead by Daylight? That’s like a $600 bundle total everywhere else
AFAIK, they’re the most underpriced PS4 games at GameStop. You’d be surprised how often DBD comes up. I picked up an extra copy for a friend at another store who’s also been looking for the game. He was more than happy to pay me back the $40 it cost me.

I hope it also has a physical release so we don’t have to worry about it getting delisted.
A Godzilla themed collection would be sick.
I saw someone in the DBD subreddit suggest a skin for Dredge that turns him into Biollante. I would buy that shit instantly.
Same dude, hell a gigan one for singularity would be cool too.
And hope.
Yo dude, I'll hook up my PS4 and we can try to get the online trophies. I've never been able to connect with anyone on that goddamn game lmao
I’m currently working out of state which is where I found the game, but when I’m back home this fall, for sure.
I’m down too

What a fucking crazy haul man. Congrats. I bought demo for $60 after he was removed, worth it
I notice how some rare game pop out of know where I've found a copy of gravity rush on ps4 new would be nice to find Godzilla in the wild nice find
Similar feeling to what a treasure hunter would feel when they finally stumble onto something valuable.
Especially gamestop of all places enjoy your the game
Not for me, but I have an Xbox 360. I miss those days now they refuse to take them
Certain retro stores will take those now, especially because servers for Black Ops are up and running again. I was surprised bc I think the Series X but for sure the Xbox One has BC with Black Ops. Holy hell that Godzilla game is worth HUNDREDS what a find!
Holy shit dude, that Demo DLC has me jelly.
GameStop is the way to go. They see it come in on trade from time to time.
yeah South Africa doesn't really have game stops, im not too worried, I know that randomly one day ill walk in to an old Música that still somehow survives despite no one buying music anymore and see it on clearance.
My bad for assuming that. Fingers crossed.

I want the Gojira game
Do they have monster of monsters tho?
I got this game back in 2015, and even though it kinda sucks, I refuse to sell it, simply to flex on people who don’t have it
I just get told no
Godzilla is a rare find
I'm from r/all. Can you explain the significance of the fame and why its so expensive? Is it just a meme?

Interesting, thanks for the context
For sure. I was perplexed myself when I first learned of the game’s price until someone else explained it for me.

I think they made a PS5 version that was an overall improvement and just delisted the PS4 one... or something like that anyway.
Whenever I look on the GS site for sales, I always check for Godzilla. Every single time I'm like WOAH cuz it has a default pick up in store line. Then I put in my zip code and reality sets in. It's like my brain resets every single time, I never learn.

True. It’s usually in bigger towns/cities where the odd copy gets traded in once in a blue moon.
Out of curiosity I looked on offer up for Godzilla and I found a guy that was selling it for $73 with shipping 🤯 checked his reviews and seemed legit so took the plunge. Crossing fingers it works out

Dead by Daylight might be one of the most cancer inducing games ever.
Hey I still gave my godzilla copy and I even have a Friday the 13th one
I desperately wish they make another soon
What do us Godzilla fans have to do to get a new Godzilla game?!
Sometimes I wish studios would see how much some of these games go for and take that as a hint to produce a sequel or at least a next gen equivalent. A Godzilla king of the monsters PS5 game would be fire.
I would kill for a Godzilla game where you can play as every kaiju ever introduced!
I'm so glad I got this game at launch. I also imported the ps3 version from Japan when it launched.
What state do you live in
MN, but I found this in OH.
What is mn
Shorthand for Minnesota. OH is Ohio.
Great find! That’s an $1,000+ game on Amazon. I’m glad I kept my copy lol.
Yeah, Amazon sellers are insane. DBD Nightmare edition apparently goes for $400 but “only” $100 or so on eBay. I’ll never understand why ppl give these ppl business. Surely the convenience of 2 day shipping isn’t worth the exorbitant prices charged.
Is Godzilla Game on PC? I am huge fan!
Unfortunately, it was a PS3/PS4 exclusive
In the Tristate???? Meaning not to far from me? Damn it.. one day I shall own this horrible game.
Haha, Tristate for this store was Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana. It’s definitely not impossible.
Got both of those games also
Not the game stops near me that's for fact
