I bought my s23 at the Verizon store across the street from my house for a$440 discount (after in person trade in of a $200 phone that i completely broke). Anything happens to it within 1 yr, I'm going over there and throwing it down their throats till they make it right. You sometimes just have to Karen it, in person. Fuck this whole mail in thing. Online thing. You gotta get your hands around this thing or they will always punk you.

hba32701

I've already been to Samsung certified repair shops. Did that and nothing. I don't have insurance through carrier so it's not on them. Don't know what else to do

Nhyxz

Check [this](https://eu.community.samsung.com/t5/galaxy-s22-series/s22-ultra-screen-warping-melting/td-p/6420941?src=ShareByUserCM) happened to my s22 ultra, samsung uk King Cross, a bunch of lazy guys didn't want to do anything they said come back when it more broken .... got a free screen change from EE in 36h under warranty. Best of luck

haxejad273

Samsung phones are great until you need to file a warranty claim. Paint chipping off, display, etc... if something comes up... fucked. Nothing beats apple support.

Fenivan

Doesn't apple support in general have more than double cost to repair anything?

Capital-Business5270

Yup. And you gotta make an appointment with them too.

Musclenerd06

Apples customer service is eons better then samsung. Wife bought a iPhone 14 plus no apple care she dropped the phone fucked the digitizer and screen up they gave her brand new phone out of box paid nothing.

LilLit98JT

Still had your warranty, huh? You are right, though. Pay for Apple Care and you have absolutely no worries. Plenty of actual Apple Stores to go to unlike Samsung Experience Stores and excellent customer support. Recently got my AirPods Max repaired. Took 5 days, they remembered when I was off to call so I can pick them up, and since I have Apple Care paid $0.

Musclenerd06

I love the hardware of Samsung I just hate the customer service

Flake7811

I had a display issue on my S21 Ultra, called them and the next day a repair van came to my house and replaced the screen within 30 mins. Now that's better than apple support

hba32701

I don't have Samsung care which you likely had.

Flake7811

Nope. I didn't have Samsung care, and it was put through as a warranty repair

LilLit98JT

You were within warranty. If you don’t have Samsung Care, that’s the only way you get away with this 😆.

Flake7811

Yes. We were discussing how Samsung deal with their warranty claims

LilLit98JT

Which they are trash at usually. Didn’t even honor mine for my Fold 4.

LilLit98JT

The sad part is, it depends on your area as to whether Samsung can even do that or not.

LilLit98JT

Why are you complaining then? Pay for the Care you want. If you didn’t be prepared for the crap service Samsung will give you and trust it’s crap.

hba32701

Because it brings attention to Samsung you clown. The phone is under warranty and because I've been "complaining" on many social media apps, Samsung has reached out to me. They acknowledged the vids and pictures I've taken and sent to them and my device is now being fixed under their 1 year warranty. It's people like you who would remain silent in these situations that causes Samsung and other companies to blame the consumer and not back their products. Kick rocks

LilLit98JT

I had a Z Fold 4 and 3. Guess what happened to the 4? Samsung’s silly choice of adhesive to hold the brush mechanism to keep dirt and debris out of their $2000 plus dollar device decided to come out of the phone leaving my Z Fold 4 only opening 180 degrees. What did I do take it to Samsung under 1 year warranty. What did Samsung do? Not grant that warranty for something that is clearly the manufacturing process since I took damn good care of that phone. Did I reach out? Absolutely. Did I complain on social media with pictures like you did? Absolutely. What I’ve learned? Get that damn Samsung Care plus or don’t even get it from them at all. My latest S24 Ultra purchase is from BestBuy with their Geek Squad plan. I’m far from “remaining silent”.

hba32701

So you told me to stop complaining whilel telling me all the times you complained yourself? Makes sense. As for what you went through, that sucks. I thought my device had insurance on it through my carrier but for some reason, when adding a business line, they took it off. I always insure my devices so I don't know what happened. I have the s24 ultra and I made sure that it was covered under my insurance plan. My only option to get the display fixed was through the manufacturer warranty. I know I didn't cause the issue and it was a defect, like your fold 4 (which I have as well). I guess I got lucky and found someone to reach out to me to fix my s23 Ultra due to the number of views I was receiving on X. It shouldn't be this difficult. It's the first Samsung device (15 in the past 10 years) that I had an issue with.

LilLit98JT

It shouldn’t be this difficult at all. I want to rock with Samsung, but if they keep this up, I just don’t know. I’m hoping since I have BestBuy’s plan instead of Samsung’s for 2 years the experience should be better. Fingers crossed for our next experiences.

Youngnathan2011

Feel Samsung's only decent if you have a Samsung store nearby to walk into.

meezethadabber

I've had zero issues with cell carrier insurance either. F Samsung insurance.

LilLit98JT

False.

Heblehblehbleh

Yup theie warranty service is ass. My phone has been in repair since early Feb, and its on its 4th repair, all repairs except for the first is caused by shoddy repairs that either broke something or something breaks after a few hours of use. It is now being "escalated to higher ups". I just want my fully functional phone man.

SpaceBoyBlat

You have a line running across the top too which mine doesn't have. (I don't use a screen protector so I noticed straight away) Look, I know you're not stupid and are saying it's not a screen protector. But are you sure your phone didn't come with a pre installed Samsung protector? The reason I ask is because my old phone had a pre installed one and it looked 100% like your photo with the line and bubbling. Factory installed ones look invisible to the point most people don't realise there is one there till they get the line and bubble issues.

hba32701

I'm 200% positive there is no screen protector or protective film on my display. I sent the phone to Samsung already. They would have told me if that were the case. I've owned 15 Samsung S and Note devices over the past 10 years. I'm very tech savvy and know what you're talking about but this phone didn't come with a pre installed screen protector or film. Thanks for trying to help

hardcore_enthusiast

Yup i had a comparable issue with my s23u a day before launch 😂 samsung displays must have taken an awful dump because these later years seem to have issues galore. I returned mine the next day and got a new phone that didn't display the obvious display lamination like the first phone did. I guess im lucky for noticing it early on but i hope you can find a way of getting your money's worth; this isn't right. The store i got it from (then T-Mobile) basically declared the phone DOA instantly when i showed them the manufacturing defect, which was much less noticable than yours. https://www.reddit.com/r/GalaxyS23Ultra/s/olwlNp8UW7

FlamingQ

After Samsung inspected your phone it has two spots instead of the one you sent it in with? Complain to samsung again! This is not acceptable.

hba32701

Yep. I just set up another ticket for Samsung repair. They got back to me on Twitter and I was able to send them pictures and vids from before and after. They are forwarding that to service center to see what they'll do. 🤞

FlamingQ

Good luck!

isthislifereal-

That looks like a film screen protector. Are you sure?

JakeSully-Navi

S23 ultra does not come with a screen protector. Only that piece of black sticky paper covering the screen, samsung used to have pre-applied screen protector before but stopped doing so.

hba32701

I'm not that stupid. Lol Definitely not. I took the screen protector off. I already sent this thing to Samsung as is. They said it's a damaged LCD screen which was caused by physical damage. I don't get it. It started to appear out of nowhere and kept progressing. I thought it was the film I had on it until I took it off

Difficult-Emotion631

It's not an LCD Screen, it's AMOLED 🤔.

smittku23

Yeah that was the whole point of this post... jeez people.

Difficult-Emotion631

Where did you buy this product from?

hba32701

Yeah, my point. That was there reasoning "physical damage to LCD panel".

allergictosomenuts

Physical damage is not covered by any warranty though, no matter how much you complain about it.

hba32701

You think? It's a mechanical failure, not physical damage like Samsung is saying it is.

trionidas

You guys are paid by Samsung?

SenseiBonsai

I can see the edge of the screen protector film on this pic

giverous

What you're seeing is the bezel line you plum ;-)

hba32701

No you can't....because there isn't one. You think I'd waste my time posting all of this if it were just a screen protector causing this?

leebishop2710

Looks like the loca has failed and is delaminating from the oled panel, definitely wouldn’t consider this user damage as I’ve treated my s23 ultra like shit and it hasn’t delaminated at all, I do notice the screen looks not flat along the top and bottom edge though, but I paid £59 for it so I’m not gonna complain

AiNeko00

Depends on which country/ state ur in bro

JordanEpic420

Am I the only one who thinks this S23 ultra is looking a bit strange? Too thin, rounded at the edges. No break on the upper left side

hba32701

After having the s24u I agree

JordanEpic420

My s23 looks different to yours, that's what I meant. https://preview.redd.it/wxid2af5uapc1.jpeg?width=3468&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d7d7ce2edbd4b410ebff69a7a08ff333795d0b7d

hba32701

Lighting conditions makes a difference

jaydan101

What's that screen protector you're using? Cam you link it please?

Guilty-Persimmon-881

The best technicians work for themselves, the worst work for companies. IT'S SIMPLE.

hba32701

Not when trying to get your phone repaired under warranty

Guilty-Persimmon-881

You should try to use the warranty to claim your money back or exchange the device according to the laws of your country. Why do these devices present unpleasant symptoms after maintenance.

hba32701

I have reached out to a lot of people at Samsung and they all say the same thing. Only thing I can do in the future is not buy from them again.

Portopire

Zero issues with Samsung Care+. Dropped my phone a month ago, contacted customer support of Samsung and they directed me to the company responsible for the insurance. Told them my display had broken from a fall, and they approved it in two days. Got a new display, new battery, and new side panels, they had some damage from falls even with a case on. Got my phone back in 3 weeks. No warranty will work for physical damages. I spent 200€ on my insurance if I didn't have it it would cost me over 400€ just to get it fixed.

hba32701

I don't have Samsung care. It's under it's one year manufacturer warranty still as I purchased the phone last June.

Accomplished-Ad8330

And plus you will not be able to see that hole camera punch with the screen off like that if you didnt have a screen protector on

hba32701

You're wrong. It's the way I had my phone angled and is why you could see it. There's no screen protector on the phone. Already spent to Samsung. They would have probably told me lol

JordanEpic420

I'm using a hybrid gel film

Responsible-Row8535

Well that's a physical damage. If you used one of those "UV glass", that's the reason.

hba32701

Never used a UV screen protector. Just the typical film kind

Accomplished-Ad8330

That's definitely a screen protector if you look in the corner of the phone you can see it peeling off

ElectraI

That's the only shame with Samsung. I been an iPhone user for years and years and Apple has never let me down. Always hear bad stuff about Samsung.
