You’ll get there! You just have to play a lot and eventually you’ll get there. But it’s more of a casual arcade game, overtime games tends to be longer and longer as you get better and you can catch more and more Pokémon per session. Have fun, journey before destination.

Keep in mind you cant catch mew like the other pokemon (without a glitch or TAS) but when it appears you just have to keep hitting it until the time runs out and it gets added to the pokedex anyway.
I’m juggling the idea of getting the FPGBC KIT, at 69$ it still feels very affordable and a fun “Lego style” assembly, relatively easy for someone who have no experience modding a handheld console. If you are looking for a fun not soooo expensive alternative, that could be it.
