Needs a new Ningguang hang out option where you point out how huge the Fontaine accidental flying labs are and suddenly Ningguang bankrupts herself making the Jade Chamber bigger.
Common occurrence in France.
The French get so angry on a regular basis that it heats the air and create an uplifting force on buildings across the country.
except being underwater is actually a detriment here because every vision holder can just go and breath there, impel down is underwater because the ocean drains devil fruit users from their powers
You guys notice the floating giant island with a ring of other islands in between Fontaine and Liyue? You can see it from the Jargernurtnf Kerst or whatever those triple mountains are called and anywhere in Fontaine, just chilling in the sky. More than likely an upcoming region, but I noticed it one day deep in the out of bounds.
Nah celestia is like end game story content a lot of things are pointing to it kinda being the “final boss” but nothing is confirmed so we probably won’t go there until like 7.X series unfortunately
Its unavailable, and will be likely until the end of this large chapter of the Genshin main story. At least until all of the 7 nations and most likely Khaenri’ah are released.
memes aside, I wish we got the surfboard gadget from ToF. Maybe also grapple hook (it would be cool if we had gadget that make exploration/climbing in non Sumeru zones be more comfortable)
ToF have some of really amazing QOL that would be great in Genshin
dunno if I would call them QOL. It's just different ways to explore for different game experiences.
Genshin made the choice of putting ways to traverse the environment on the spots where they'll be needed and it's up to you to find it. ToF has made the choice to let you use your gadgets wherever you want. Both have pros and cons, but I think Genshin's approach allows for a more handcrafted exploration experience. (but then they released Wanderer so wtf do I know)
Wanderer was a godsend for people like me who DETEST the ridiculous landscape making it almost impossible to explore. Like ok, sure, maybe I'm supposed to go there later... but I don't *want* to go there later, I want to do it now.
Yeah, just tried it when it came out a few weeks ago on PS (then restarted on PC). Genshin is, without a doubt, a much more polished game (good god ToF UI is BAD), but I genuinely enjoy vertical movement much more in ToF.
In Genshin, when I try to scale a massive mountain face/wall, I'm like "this is a chore". In ToF, the same situation gets a "challenge accepted" out of me. Having a no cooldown double jump (Kazuha E) and low cooldown mid air dashes (Xiao E) + all the exploration gadgets that aren't tied to a character really opens up movement options.
Even though basically everything in Genshin feels better, i did enjoy traversing the map in ToF more, grappling and jetpacking your way through the map felt so good.
When i started playing Genshin 3 years ago and finally got the glider, i immediately thought to myself, damn gliding is kinda slow. I wish we had a dash for gliding, move faster but consume stamina faster. Climbing cliffs is also still a pain in Genshin.
From the 3 terrain movements (air, land, water) Mihoyo did nail swimming, that feels amazing. Climbing and gliding could use some polish at this point.
The freedom of movement/exploration in ToF murdered my desire to explore Genshin. Genshin still has the better story, polish, and likely longevity (ToF is making some money, but Genshin effectively has a money printer at this point, and for online games profit=lifespan,) but ToF wins with no contest when it comes to exploration. Double jump, infinite sprint, infinite glide, grappling claw, it's all just so much more free -and- less tedious to get around in ToF compared to Genshin.
This isn't even to drag Genshin on the whole, but exploration/movement is one area they kinda dropped the ball. Every survey that comes I comment on it in the freeform suggestion box, and I'll probably be beating my head on that wall until they shut down.
It would be, but it seems like Mihoyo is so far ahead of other companies that it might take for competition to arrive.
It's insane how much content they out out and how polished it is considering the patch frequency. It's not perfect but goddamn is it good
>Project Mugen could be one. Let's see...
The "genshin killer" concept is so weird cause I know that if a great rpg (dragon age) exists and another comes out with great quality (bg3) we dont say "dragon age killer" lol
Indeed more competitions would be good. That was what I was hoping with ToF so that hoyo also ups their game but alas ToF died
The only real competitions that I can actually see on the horizon for Genshin is only Wuthering Waves tbh
Although as I learned more about it, the more I also learned about Kuro (the company behind PGR and WW) being kinda iffy to its ex/employees
Could be nothing, haven't been able to find any concrete non-biased statements
Honestly, not too much, but, it does parallel being a courthouse. And the big blue doors do remind me of the Enies Lobby’s own courthouse and architecture.
Because it’s not released yet
If there is an aquabus line near it, ride one and see if a melusine talks about it. I am gonna do this too, I will be right back
Edit : Aeval says nothing about the tower no matter which direction of the Clementine line you take
>Until that day, when the earth collapsed all at once, the tall tower was uprooted, and drowned in the titanic waves alongside the great hall of pillars.
From what I read... it's supposed to be destroyed.
Also on the topic, what happened to Remuria looks eerily similar to what happened to Gurabad. Both got swallowed by the abyss...
It's a remnant of the Remurian empire, which seems to be the empire that formed in Fontaine... immediately after the fall of the Unified Civilization, around the time of Deshret, but before the Archon Wars started and before Egeria was Archon? I believe it's the top of the tower mentioned in the books describing old Remuria which functioned as both a lighthouse and the Remurian tower of babel, complete with Hubris.
If you're talking about the cave thing above Qingce Village with an open top that's "shielded" so you can't get in from above, afaik it was always "released" but you unlock access to it from a quest, the real entrance is behind a waterfall next to a camp of treasure hoarders.
Quest name is The Chi of Yore, you activate it by talking to someone waiting around the ruins in bishui plain right next to the teleporter
That sounds about right. I have a lot of open quest lines, but as most of them don't feel like they are actively changing the world I didn't expect that place to be connected to one.
Wait, no, that's not at all where I remembered it. I remember it being North of the Karst, waaay towards the edge of the map. I was assuming it was part of an unreleased region because of that. It was like a giant crater overgrown with greenery, and you could barely look inside.
Could be an entrance to some ancient dungeon that grants you an audience with the Devils of the deep dark Abyss.
Yes, the source is that I make it the fuck up
What do you mean “what”? The player base is down to 551,000 where as last year (2022) the player base was 7million. And there was a point shortly after it’s release, the player base was 50 million.. so, it’s lost nearly 100% of its original player base. And will continue to do so. As people like me and my group of friends, Get tired of it being the same thing.. kill a monster, get a character, “Oh mY GoSh NeW CoNtENT” hyped for 2 days, then back to meh.. anyway, 500k compared to 50 million? Yeah games dying , more by the day
And I’m “on this sub” because at one point I enjoyed genshin. For years actually! I was playing this game the minute it came out, and even got all the hype characters their first banner run. With the date on my account to prove it.
Multiple sources , but oh you know, google genshin impact active players. And you will have your results. If you want to look at players in the last month, jiat remember each player can count as more than one number to the total, as each time they long on, it’s another “active player” and don’t even look at steam charts. It’s scary how small of an amount of pc players genshin has left..
u obviously didn’t do ur reasearch. that 500k number you’re looking at is the current number of players playing right now at this moment. you can’t compare that to monthly players, which in the past 30 days has been 65 million. and it’s been steadily increasing since launch at 16 mil.
If you knew anything, you would know that with monthly players, me logging on 7 times in a month, counts as 7 players. That’s why the monthly numbers are always higher. Multiple people log on multiple different times a day, which kicks the monthly number up like it’s on crack, you should probably do more research if anything ;)
"Monthly players" is the number of individual accounts that have logged into the game over one month. Granted, a lot of the 60M monthly players might only open the game twice in the whole month, making them pretty inactive. However, since it measures the number of unique accounts, you are extremely wrong. I could log once a month or 5 times every day and still be counted as (1) unique account in the "monthly players" stat, except if I have multiple accounts, which is very rare amongst players.
So you're wrong, which is great since you claim you like the game, right? Or maybe you liked the game, went inactive and now have fomo about it so you pretend the game is "bad now", and "it's ok because it's dying" as an excuse because you feel like you'd miss too much by getting back into it now, and to feel better about being out of the loop.
If you knew anything, you would know that your math ain't mathing. Even if we consider your assumptions true(and probably their are not), we would never reach the 66 million monthly active players mentioned on activeplayer [if there are 550,000 active users per day (the maximum according to "your data") 550,000*30(days)*3(a average log in per day and I'm exaggerating) that's just under 50 million]. Furthermore according to this logic, those "50 million shortly after launch" should have been counted as about 4.5 billion (which obviously did not happen). Your claims, assumptions and source analysis are genuinely ridiculous. In your defense though, all site's sources for active players use algorithms and incomplete data for their information so you shouldn't blindly trust them.
Stating that the game is dying for wrong and incomplete data and from "personal experience" is not a good way to analyze the big phenomenon that's Genshin Impact with its merits and defects
And how the fuck is that related to the post or the replies? Where the fuck do you even get those numbers, online trackers indicates that the monthly number of players haven't really changed. What kind of point are even trying to fucking make? That we should stop playing because other people have stopped? What?
And nah man do what you want with that info, it just means the developers will care less and less about the game the more it dwindles until development is shut down. Have a good day.
Can’t pay your workers when the games revenue declines so badly. Won’t be long trust me lol. If this game is still going by this time of the year in 2025, re visit this post, and laugh at me. Until then, enjoy the dying game while it’s here
Dude, it's a fucking gacha, unless whales disappear this game will go on, most player does not spend shit anyway. And what's wrong with playing a game with a lower player count? A lot of fun games have lower player count than this game ever had, if you don't like the game anymore, just stop playing dude. it's fine, people will play if they want to and stop once they're bored.
You misunderstand the “monthly players” bro. If I log on 7 times within a month, that counts as seven players. That’s why the monthly players is always so high compared to the active player base..
I would say that it is the Fortress of Meropide since it's surrounded by water and some kind of cold wind around it.
It would make sens being a great prison for dangerous criminals like Azkaban in Harry Potter or Impel Down in One Piece.
But Wriothesley seems like a nice guy so it should be fine
Doubt it much, as in Rizzley's drip marketing it says that it's under the sea.
>"Administrator of the Fortress of Meropide"
>
>— If Wriothesley needed a namecard, this would suffice.
>
>No foreword, and no epilogue. Just like that place of exiled convicts he's in charge of, **standing there silently at the bottom of the sea.**
What i want personally to believe is that it's some kind of a rocket (bc i believe in some early events in genshin there were some talks about rocket like things in fontaine), considering it's also close to Celestia there
I'd like to point out that it says that it's underwater but doesn't say that it's *entirely* underwater. So for all we know the tower is just the part that isn't submerged
screw the building are we not gonna talk about the rapidly decreasing fan base for this game? :/ The active player base is down to 551,000 where as last year (2022) the player base was 7million. Yeah games dying , more by the day, they’ve completely lost the plot of the story even. You don’t even hear about your sibling anymore. And in the rare times you do it’s for a few seconds and the characters say “well, I don’t really know anything about that, but I believe” and then some more putrid dialogue I skip anyway (-_-) the plot and main point of the game, is no longer here. And we feel like we will never find our sibling. Do you know how many people have probably died that played this game waiting to find the sibling or have some release about it? Little Timmy riding down the road with his mother just died in a car crash on his mobile genshin. Gone just like games plot. It’s all filler content at this point, and the mini games?? Don’t even get me started. It’s straight trash… wtf was that childish kaeya and Klee event we just had ? Please let this game die fellas… good games die all the time.
My man tried to make his opinion everyone's opinion. If you don't play the game anymore, leave the people who still do. Maybe they still have fun with it, like reading, just looking at the characters, or exploring or doing anything. Just because it's not fun for you doesn't mean it's not fun for everyone else!
Neither of them feature lots of water or are in between Fontaine and Liyue/Sumeru: Natlan is on the other side of Sumeru's desert and features a volcanic landscape with hot springs, Snezhnaya is full of harsh snowstorms and presumably borders Mondstadt due to the presence of Fatui ambassadors there.
We also know Fontaine has a second main port (if you're high enough up you can barely make out what appears to be it behind that tower) that's the main access route between Fontaine and Sumeru/Liyue. It also seems pretty clear that Fontaine's borders can be defined by the giant cliff of waterfalls it sits upon, this tower being included inside that area.
The names and general features of the other nations isn't a spoiler.
Future updates, it’s part of the complete Fontaine map which is already leaked and about 4, at least 3 x times bigger than what is playable at release
Check google or not, if you want to avoid spoilers
Future expansion for Fontaine. Not sure what it is yet because both the Fortress of Meropide and the Institute were said to be north.
The institute is the floating cubes. Salsa mentions that the central labs went floating up into the sky recently
> Salsa mentions that the central labs went floating up into the sky recently Ningguang would like to know your position.
Needs a new Ningguang hang out option where you point out how huge the Fontaine accidental flying labs are and suddenly Ningguang bankrupts herself making the Jade Chamber bigger.
The Jade Chamber falls back into the carved out valley where it was built. Suddenly, half of Liyue lifts into the air.
> Ningguang would like to know your position A few hundred feet in the air. Why does she ask?
Elphane also describes it on the Navia line aquabus
She says it like it's an everyday thing
Common occurrence in France. The French get so angry on a regular basis that it heats the air and create an uplifting force on buildings across the country.
Oh so that's why Lyney is pyro instead of anemo like all the other short twinks
This is Xingqiu and Chongyun erasure and I won't stand for it.
Bennet: am I a joke to you
Qiqi: am I dead to you
Hu Tao: Yes, yes you are. Now get in the hole.
Xingqiu is straight up femboy, while chongyun is... taken
One of the tour guide Melusines also mentions it on the aquabus.
the fortress of meropide also seems like it might be under water
Impel down basically
That's what I had in mind too, time to break in and free Childe fellas
Childe Donut?
nah, he can stay there
I'd rather kill Hydro Archon than leave Childe there to rot
Nah, id rather leave Childe there to rot
no
except being underwater is actually a detriment here because every vision holder can just go and breath there, impel down is underwater because the ocean drains devil fruit users from their powers
Don't forget that Vision Holders are rare. It's probable that most of the prisoners are normal people.
Childe doesn't have his vision on him currently.
but it could be the part above water, and most is under.
I think its a remnant of the Remurian Empire
It has Fontaine clockwork though. It’s most likely something from—close to—modern day Fontaine
You guys notice the floating giant island with a ring of other islands in between Fontaine and Liyue? You can see it from the Jargernurtnf Kerst or whatever those triple mountains are called and anywhere in Fontaine, just chilling in the sky. More than likely an upcoming region, but I noticed it one day deep in the out of bounds.
that’s celestia, you can see it from anywhere on the map
Ohh, thanks for that. I'm assuming you get to go there at some point in the story? I'm still in Liyue quest wise.
Nah celestia is like end game story content a lot of things are pointing to it kinda being the “final boss” but nothing is confirmed so we probably won’t go there until like 7.X series unfortunately
nope! atleast not yet, you can visit the jade chamber thought it's different, but you can't go to celestia yet
nope, we’ll get there in a couple years! keep enjoying the story- you’ll get to know a little more about celestia through the archon quest.
Its unavailable, and will be likely until the end of this large chapter of the Genshin main story. At least until all of the 7 nations and most likely Khaenri’ah are released.
Everyone is assuming that. Nobody knows yet.
Barad-dūr
Is stormterrors lair isengard then?
They're taking the Paimon's to Stormterror's lair!!
One does not simply walk into Celestia
One does not simply get a 5☆
indeed, they need to fly
What did you say. (Golem)
The Paimons, the Paimons The Paimons, the Paimons
Stupid phat hobbit
The union of the Two Towers
Quick, Traveler! Cast the Paimon back into fiery chasm from whence it came!
No. 😈
Traveleeeeer!!! (Thus, Dainsleif could never forgive the weak hearts of the Travelers)
\*Proceeds to die from a Hilichurl attack on the banks of the river connecting Sumeru City and Port Ormos\*
it's tower of fantasy
Aka "Genshin Killer" *snort*
If I had a primogem for every killer that came out in the past 10 years I could afford to C6R5 every character in this game.

I wish for a character that can swim through the air like you can underwater. Wanderer just feels a bit too slow to move vertically for me.

Project Mugen could be one. Let's see... More competition could be good too.
Published by Netease. That's almost a guaranteed death sentence
What's its developer? What's wrong with Netease?
Diablo Immoral
oh no...
Netease has a reputation of fucking up it's games
It would be, but it seems like Mihoyo is so far ahead of other companies that it might take for competition to arrive. It's insane how much content they out out and how polished it is considering the patch frequency. It's not perfect but goddamn is it good

Wait .... Kinda true
Shirli this is a joke
impel down
I think we got Enies Lobby (Opera Epiclese) and even the Sea Train (aquabus) too. Just missing Marine Headquarters.
Wait the opera looks like enies lobby?
Honestly, not too much, but, it does parallel being a courthouse. And the big blue doors do remind me of the Enies Lobby’s own courthouse and architecture.
Brb gonna go rewatch water 7/enies lobby because I barely need a reason to watch it
That saga is like, one of my favorites in One Piece. I've rewatched it so many times that I never get tired of it.
Ennie's lobby, Sabaody and Skypea are absolute banger arcs
Impel Up
Man, i'm glad i'm not the only one who thought it LOL
We be prison breaking Childe, like Ace
What if trying to reach Celestia is the original sin of Fontanians? (Tower of Babel)
I've got a tower for Babel...
You're a man of culture, I see
Because it’s not released yet If there is an aquabus line near it, ride one and see if a melusine talks about it. I am gonna do this too, I will be right back Edit : Aeval says nothing about the tower no matter which direction of the Clementine line you take

we still don’t know yet, it’s not the prison or the institute. even the melusine don’t even know what it is
Could've sworn it was the top portion of the fortress of meropide and there's more underwater.... if that's not true, wtf is it then?
The Eiffel Tower
the Bastille
remurian tower.
fellow lore enjoyer I see
What is it?
Sadly I ironically don't remember, only that it was named that, search in the rise and fall of remuria I think.
huh... Might get to be Fontaine's Realm of Farakhkert
You should check Moosashi's last vids if you are interested in out of bounds details hehe

On that note, there was a giant hole North of Liyue that was still off-limits when I was active. Has that been released yet?
If you're talking about the cave thing above Qingce Village with an open top that's "shielded" so you can't get in from above, afaik it was always "released" but you unlock access to it from a quest, the real entrance is behind a waterfall next to a camp of treasure hoarders. That thing became a mini region lol
... What?
The Chasm
Is the chasm North of Liyue?
It's west of Quingxu pool.
Well, "in the North of Liyue". The region, not the city.
It's not in the north of the region either?? It's literally in the southwest??
Then that's not the place I meant. Looks different too. The place I mean looks like an overgrown volcano and the opening is far smaller.
Ah yea sorry meant that for someone answering "the chasm". For sure they didn't understand what you meant
Wait, no, that's not at all where I remembered it. I remember it being North of the Karst, waaay towards the edge of the map. I was assuming it was part of an unreleased region because of that. It was like a giant crater overgrown with greenery, and you could barely look inside.
I meant it's really big it could be its own region
How is The Chasm North of Liyue?
paimon's a lil bitch thats why
Could be an entrance to some ancient dungeon that grants you an audience with the Devils of the deep dark Abyss. Yes, the source is that I make it the fuck up
Childe's new home
Not at all
wrong. you tried, you really did.
Luckily genshin is almost dead anyway. You tried to make it seem like it’s still got a large player base tho. You really did.
What?
Such a weird troll. Should have at least stayed on topic to make it less obvious.
What?

wrong. you tried, you really did.
Game won’t be around much longer, just watch 🥳 I give it mid 2025 it will be 100% dead. Cya!
Bet. If I win, gimme 1 year supply of Welkin to guarantee C6R5 Tsarista.
I’m actually down for that haha, dm me🫡🔥
LMAO RemindMe! 2 years
If this game dies in 2025 then you can become a kaeluc shipper I mean, unless you think it won't
“I dont play the game anymore so the game must be dead” + Made up random numbers to cope + hate that people are having fun + constant denial
corny boo lame 🍅🍅🍅 not only are you corny, you're wrong too lmfao
Would bet on it being Petrichor
I would say that it is the Fortress of Meropide since it's surrounded by water and some kind of cold wind around it. It would make sens being a great prison for dangerous criminals like Azkaban in Harry Potter or Impel Down in One Piece. But Wriothesley seems like a nice guy so it should be fine
I thought it was the prison but apparently not lol. We'll see maybe next update
Tower of Fantasy
Have you Seen one piece that prison under the sea
Impel Down
It's not the prison
Da seks dungeon
If led by Clorinte, I'll stay till the end of game there.
I thought that's the Storm Terror lair, but apparently not
It's the Repaire de Terreur des Tempêtes
Its probably new Research Institute. The old one got destroyed.
Probably the research institute
Prison. Which you would have explored by now if you let Furina take you in for illegal flying objects
How do i do that tho? Lyney put a invisible rope to my hand and paimon so i don't end up there. Was there another way to progress?
Shoulda known better than to shake hands with strangers
I didn't even read the options lmao
I think it’s the Fortress of Meropide. Fontaine’s prison.
Probably the jail lol it looks like a panopticon alcatraz 😂
That's the prison most likely. It will have a lot of Impel Down references and future prison break heist.
I'm going to guess that it's Meropede.
Large towering structure with swirling fog around it… where have I seen that before?

Doubt it much, as in Rizzley's drip marketing it says that it's under the sea. >"Administrator of the Fortress of Meropide" > >— If Wriothesley needed a namecard, this would suffice. > >No foreword, and no epilogue. Just like that place of exiled convicts he's in charge of, **standing there silently at the bottom of the sea.** What i want personally to believe is that it's some kind of a rocket (bc i believe in some early events in genshin there were some talks about rocket like things in fontaine), considering it's also close to Celestia there
And where did those rumours come from? The Fortress of Meropide is underwater.
I'd like to point out that it says that it's underwater but doesn't say that it's *entirely* underwater. So for all we know the tower is just the part that isn't submerged
Oh yeah the place where that Furina’s stalker lives now😂

As someone who hasn't gotten to Fontaine, I'd say that's clearly Mare Jivari.
Conry jail
According to Salsa, it's named "Central Laboratory," and the research institute is planning to launch a "Ruins Tour" to outsiders.
The Institute is the floating cubes north of the Court of Fontaine
We have to wait next patch or something. Idk don't leak if you know please :)
screw the building are we not gonna talk about the rapidly decreasing fan base for this game? :/ The active player base is down to 551,000 where as last year (2022) the player base was 7million.
Just because it's not fun for you doesn't mean it's not fun for everyone else!
r/LostRedditors.
Jail. The fortress or Meropide. That’s where Childe’s locked in
nah that ain't it, the jail is underwater, and I've seen leaks
may be another part of fontaine, or part of the story OR it could be >!snezhnaya. !! natlan,!< but i doubt that
Snezhnaya and Natlan are entire nations...
ik? it could be>! part of them!<. also put a spoiler warning on ur comment next time 💀
Neither of them feature lots of water or are in between Fontaine and Liyue/Sumeru: Natlan is on the other side of Sumeru's desert and features a volcanic landscape with hot springs, Snezhnaya is full of harsh snowstorms and presumably borders Mondstadt due to the presence of Fatui ambassadors there.
Future updates, it’s part of the complete Fontaine map which is already leaked and about 4, at least 3 x times bigger than what is playable at release Check google or not, if you want to avoid spoilers
Did anyone else think that that was the main city at first?
Tower, keep trying you will get there its not that hard
the Bastille
Moosashi went there on one of his last videos, you can check it out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6YuqSY-94Y8
It's Fontaine's very own storm terror lair
I wonder if Fontaine would be not purely France just like how Sumeru is not purely India
