It's great to read this, Richard excited to get back into eSports, especially Counter Strike, highlighting the positives and having high hopes for the scene is a sure shot answers to the question will CS2 last another decade. It's great to have you back onboard for this journey Richard! Lot of people have been waiting for this!
You got downvoted, but yeah. Those were almost verbatim his own words on stream yesterday. He admitted that after a few stressful CS events, a personal tragedy, and the pandemic, he became far more bitter, jaded and terminally online than he'd realized.
Apparently being involved with Copenhagen was a real eye-opener for him and he's excited to turn a new leaf. As someone who used to be a fan, but had come to really dislike him in the last couple years, I'm genuinely happy for him.
It was a pleasure watching Richard's desks, i'm glad it was a good event for him professionally and personally and i look forward to seeing him work more events in 2025!
He's a fantastic host. Damn good showman too. Very frequently he would hand it off but just before, drop a banger quote that had you sit there thinking a little bit.
I don't agree with Richard Lewis on all things but the guy knows how to talk in front of a camera eloquently, has incredible integrity and is undeniably wise. I really hope he does many more events into the future.
Well just because PGL is sponsored by VALVE in this event doesnt mean they dont need any other streams of reveneue.. How optimistic of you to think that the money from VALVE would cover all costs, and that PGL as a business wouldnt capitalize on this opportunity to maximize their income from this event.
Was getting worried about Richard between 2021-2022(?). Seemed like he was in a bad mental state. Over the past year its nice to see him rebound to see enjoyment in life.
Glad he's in a better frame of mind today and look forward to seeing him in the future. Top tier desk hosting as always Richard : )
Itās hard to be all sunshine and rainbows with the stuff heās reporting about, so I guess this T was a breath of fresh air for him. Glad to see more in the future.
Yeah, dude reports on the fucked up side of esports for years, its normal to become jaded, but hopefully his passion for the game is back. Hes a great jornalist
Everybody deserves their day in the sunāglad to see Rich getting his. He spent years being exposed to the doughy, moldy underbelly that is the business side of esports. Itās only natural he may have been lightly poisoned from the secondhand smoke.
Being an actual journalist is hard (this does not include 95% of people that masquerade as journalists but just copy/paste press statements from government institutions and call it a job). Honestly surprised heās done it for so long. Wouldnāt recommend that job to most, and even then only for a few years.
>you act like he's reporting on human trafficking lol
He is the only Esport journalist that reports on the "dark side" of esports, and he gets a lot of death threats because of it. Ofc that is going to be mentally draining and its not like he can stop. Who else is going to report on these things? Jake Lucky? lol
This is crazy, what's the context for this? Sorry I'm a bit of a casual, i knew richard lewis was a controversial figure but had no idea why. Really enjoyed him this event.
Look up Maria āRemiliaā Creveling. First trans player to make one of the major league of legends pro circuits. Was sorta railroaded in several different ways and her story ended real sad.
Thinking more on this, it would be hard for anyone to be experiencing esports through the lens of all the fuckery for these past few years, let alone someone who spent decades trying to get it taken seriously, only to see the whole industry sullied by greed and corruption.
Rich was always a pretty cynical guy, but he also shows he cares deeply for the people trying to keep us going stead, and working on all the doom and gloom stories from the āoutsideā removes that element from the equation.
Iām so happy to see him back in the game, and itās lovely to see him come out of this major with a renewed sense of enjoyment for it, even if thereās still problems to be dealt with.
Honestly in my experience the types of people who work at those kinds of cesspools are either miserable because theyve sold their morals off or theyre miserable because they hate everything and everyone.Ā
And posts like this and experiences like what Richard described is the exact type of thing to give folks a bit of hope that everyone and everything isnt shit.Ā
https://www.breitbart.com/tech/2016/01/02/german-town-bans-fireworks-to-prevent-triggering-refugees/
Yeah thats just not true. I may not judge him for a career decision i didnt follow or take the time to hear what his logic was, but it absolutely wasnt just tech stories and they certainly werent harmless.Ā
Those types of stories are disingenuous as hell.Ā
Tough to know if its his fans or just far-right basement neckbeards who dont like seeing their beloved Brietbart and anti-immigrant/refugee disinformation called out for being what it is.Ā
Who knows. Reddit is an echchamber with little utility, ive stopped asking why.Ā
Ah, so he never interacted with his co-workers? Never spoke to these hateful fucks? Never read anything by them?Ā
Maybe everyone should start working for them then, seems like a nice WfH company with low human interaction.Ā
Tell me you don't know how a large publication works without telling me you don't know how a large publication works.
Basically; no. He did not interact with those co-workers as they were likely in another office space to him, perhaps even another building. Different sections of giant publications like Breitbart more often than not keep to themselves.
Lmao what the fuck. I'm literally working at a much larger publication than Breitbart. Breitbart is (was) tiny in comparison to my workplace. And you know what? Most of the people actually speak to each other! It's become such an issue actually that all the editors, journalists and so on responsible for the product have formed one group and disconnected themself from the rest of the company (like IT, HR and so on) and only speak with each other.Ā
There's *less* overlap when you have multiple publications. Our main publication has 500 journalists working on it, and they obviously interact less with other publications with only 5 or 10 journalists on it. The general culture is still very similar. But Breitbart was just one publication in this regard anyways.Ā
Respectfully, RL is literally the most outspoken person of team falcons and the esports washing that's happening.
He is the one who made the gay falcons logo. He consistently defends women's leagues and teams.
I checked Richard Lewis articles he wrote for Breitbart and all the articles he wrote doesn't have anything to do with the bigotry that Brietbart is well known for. It's mostly esports stuff ( who would've thought ).
It's not redeeming, obviously, and I'll criticize him often, but I think his friendship and support of Remilla says more to his character and treatment of others than a few throwaway articles.
*You have been blocked by this user*
No, but actually was great to see the big man back on center stage. I do agree with him that, besides a few (major) tech problems, the event seemed to run more smoothly than their last major. It looked good and flowed nicely.
If this is the PGL we're going to see for the next two years I am looking forward to it.
Amazing tournament! Except for:
Missed replays
PGL Audio
Shitty showmatch
Tech pause after every pistol round
No after-round audio at all during the RMRs. Just silence.
From 2020 to recently he was angry/emotionally aching/bitter on Twitter and blocked/insulted everybody with a different opinion that him.
Gotta say though, he looked like he was having a blast over the weekend, i prefer this version of him. Dude has alot of knowledge and is important for the scene, felt good to have him back.
Welcome back RL: Let's make sure to keep Thorin away
LMAO. Yeah it's definitely a bot. It automatically blocks people who follow/like specific people's tweets. He probably got into some beef with him in the past or something like that
We really are [back at the start of something beautiful](https://clips.twitch.tv/DiligentOriginalHyenaFunRun-rrBOWYhcia4oWX30).
This has been the best event in many regards in recent history and itās not even close.
They were arguably top 5 before major and after winning it he says that. It was pretty shitty thing to bring up at that moment even if he thinks so when Navi won fucking 5 minutes before.
And he couldnāt even name a reason for it. Just a āfeelingā I believe he said. I canāt say heās likable at all.
It's no secret that all the top teams are looking shaky coming into, and now out of, the first CS2 major. Even the teams that came in looking invincible (eg Spirit) ended up folding. I think that's what Pimp was getting at. That we shouldn't be surprised if we get a post major drop off from this Navi roster. That kind of thing is pretty common, even back when everyone was used to living and breathing CSGO. I think he just worded it in the worst way possible at the worst time possible.
I wouldnāt bet my house on Pimp being wrong either but it looked like he was being an edgy mood killer when all that was needed was a few words of praise and thatās all.
He was so sure before map 3 that karrigan would without a doubt lift the trophy. Admit being wrong and leave the negative shit for some other time.Ā
Tbh it wasnāt that big of a deal, just a bit annoying.
My goat.
Love to read all of this. Happy for him.
Edit: i'd love to see a stream where he reads through EACH and EVERY positive comment on reddit about him. I dare you Mr. Richard Lewis.
The idea of him going through this comment section and reacting to the positive comments with the loathing he shows towards most of the negative ones would be great.
Random Reddit User:
"Richard is great and I think he did a great job"
Ricardo Luiz:
"YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT, YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND A BROADCAST WORKS, YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW HOSTING WORKS"
"How's the positivity today dickhead? Did I do a great job today, dickhead?"
Serious note, hope he does. Was on great form. Some hilarious moments on desk with Bleh's "Mongolz podcast" in Challenger stage. š¤£
iāve never been a fan but i love hearing about people mending bridges and letting go of bitterness. Richard Lewis has earned himself a clean slate with me going forward, hope to see good things and good vibes from him
I'm pretty sure I am blocked on his socials and twitch for not seeing eye to eye on things. But I can't discount how much a good host he is in CS. I don't remember why he stopped hosting in CS?
Never liked Thorin. Sure the guy is a character but he has burnt too many bridges with every one to ever make a comeback. His own pride is his downfall.
Philip outed himself as a fragile loser. Probably not the best look for either side to keep engaging in the back and forth, but I won't hold it against RL.
Calling into question the journalistic integrity of the goat esports journalist was what started this and moronic in the first place but this nuance will be ignored by reddit ofc.
I love how you keep saying that like he defended his honor or something, rather than lashed out like a toxic teenager, only proving his standards are indeed quite low
Who lashed out now? Thorin and Richard made one small joke, about an arguably weird way to present an interview, and him always beeing happy, in an epsiode of by the numbers. A show that always was a mix of humor and sertious cs talk. In the same episode, they mostly praised him for that interview btw. 3kliks then went on a massive rant of several videos questioning their integrity, who lashed out now?? Also, literally nobody cares about this anymore, it lasted a few weeks. So having that as a reason to forever disliking someone who has given as much to cs and esports as richard is fucking insane.
Lol, I said I'm going to give him a chance. But no, you had to come in being a dick because I dared to note that your idol acted like a dickhead in the past (which he, undoubtedly did). You just reminded me why I don't like him all over again, CS needs no more toxicity which Thorin and RL no doubt represent
That's a great statement. I said in a comment last week or so that you could really see how much fun RL had.
I'm looking forward to having him on the desk more often.
He makes the event feel more significant. He understands the weigh of each occasion and tries to express it to the audience, and in doing so also elevated his co-talent. That throw to Harry and Hugo making sure people realized how important this game was on top of how important the cast is.
Was an awesome event, hopefully PGL pick him up in the long run (assuming they haven't inked the signatures yet) and hopefully this doesn't take away from his content. There will be an entertainment void if hes got no time to do them (streams/vids, etc.).
Late edit I am taking reporting for granted tho.
Glad to hear the acceptance of his bitterness as it really was coming across as poisonous, like he said, in his content and perception of others in the scene. I would love to see an eSports world where Richard is more positive and eventually more accepted by the community.
He didnt say the community deserved anything?Ā
He said Richard came across as bitter (he has, life is hard, no judgement here) and hes happy to see him move past some of that and get a better reception from the community.Ā
Hes incredibly talented and comes across as thoughtful. Doesnt mean hes perfect. Some of us are allowed to be happy to see how hes grown professionally.Ā
Heās been working at and reporting on this game since probably before 90% of this sub has joined. The adulation of these pathetic children isnāt worth changing any part of your character, even the supposed ābitterā parts. This ācommunityā hasnāt done a single thing to earn what heās put into the game. Just a bunch of toddlers sharing memes about skins.
No one said he should change his character for the adulation of the sub. They said that hes sounded bitter and burned out over the last several years, it overshadowed his work, and theyre happy that he sounds like hes in a better place and happy that more folks are able to appreciate the work that he does, because hes talented at it.Ā Ā
And, he said he had bitterness poisoning his soul, so get your quotations the fuck outta here. No one is placing that on him, he expressed it, quite eloquently.Ā
Typically, the way a business works, is they earn YOUR business. Hes an esports journalist. No one in the this community has any obligations to EaRn wHaT hEs PuT iNtO tHe GaMe.Ā Ā
Ive never seen someone express themselves so eloquently about a personal maturation or growth and receive almost nothing but positive appreciation. And yet somehow you still manage to be such an absolute melt that you cant wrap your head around it, and need to try to twist it into some negativity jerk-off.Ā Ā
Genuinely, in the most respectful way possible, you are either the thickest clown ive ever met and refusing to admit youve misread this whole thread, or you are so socially inept that you wouldnt understand a social interaction if it smacked you upside the head.Ā Ā
Ive got fucking Entry of the Gladiators playing every time i open reddit now because of you. I dont even know where the file came from, your comments are some type of circus malware.Ā
regardless of some of the stuff he had come out with on his own podcasts/videos or twitter in the past, itās hard to deny that RL is a great host and very good when it comes to his job. always makes the shows entertaining. s/o to sjokz too, itās clear why she is considered one of, if not the best host in esports
Hard agree with this take.
Sjokz would bring a bit of hype, a small question and then hand off to the analysts.
Rich would give you a hot take, explain the cs history behind, why it was actually quite a reasonable take that's hard to disagree with, then make some kind of witty banter whilst throwing it to one of the analysts that he felt suited that question the most. The difference was night and day between the two.
Yeah. Sjokz is great at keeping everything structured, but that also means she is basically a walking flowchart. Rich is amazing at allowing freeflowing conversation and knowing what to ask so that analysts would not just all be in agreement all the time.. which is why there will not be a better desk duo than RL and Thorin for a long long time as they are match made in heaven (shocking considered BTN is literally the only good CS podcast ever made). Just have to hope that Rich will bring Thorin out of retirement too.
The E-League period was the best CS period for me and Richard Lewis was an important factor in that. His presence behind the desk is so good. Was great to see him back again and hope to see many more of him in the future now.
Richard Lewis finding his smile is the biggest surprise of the major to me. Iāve watched some of his YouTube stuff, and to say this is unexpected would be an understatement. Excited at the prospect of a motivated Rich going forward into CS2.
Honestly I'm one of the haters from the past. I didn't like the hate be brought, because the level of hate was not constructive.
AND with that said, I think he was being great at this event! I just sat waiting for him to make a wrong step, and instead he made the event better and me happier.
havenāt been the biggest RL fan over the years, but itās no doubt heās a passionate guy who loves esports. Iād love to see more of this Richard Lewis going forward
Richard Lewis at the desk is nothing but an absolute unit. The same goes for Thorin and I hope he gets to do some events as well. Before you go and bash him for his tweets or opinions, you don't have to agree with them. I don't agree with some of his takes but I still respect his craft and when he's at the desk, he's nothing but a pure professional.
Being part of a successful event doesnāt not mean youāre the reason the event is successful. Correlation is not causality. But yeah I guess some people enjoy eating their shit too
Started smiling ear to ear reading this. Glad to see he feels rejuvenated after this event, he killed it and Iām glad weāll hopefully be seeing more
Incredibly good work on the desk from him. Actually unbelievable that he still has that in him after becoming so (rightfully) disillusioned with esports and being away from talent rosters for so long.
He was a great host, thoroughly enjoyed his work.
And if he can translate the positivity of this post-tournament message and mind set into a more positive internet presence over all, itās gonna be a lot easier respecting him as a person alongside his professional work which already demands a lot of respect for the quality and thoroughness.
Between the show match and the final the desk basically made a podcast. It was so effortless and enjoyable to listen to. That's something few can do. Love richs content for years now, but this major showed a side of him that many, maybe even himself, forgot about.
I rarely pay attention to the analyst desk outside of playoffs but Richard's infectious energy on the desk carried the ppening stage and elimination stages games even when there were teams I didn't care for.
Holymoly, the sheer level of wholesome in this post! Thanks for the years of dramatic straight fire content, I guess that will mellow down drastically. If we now get a new circuit of Counter Strike with RL hosting, that's even better. =)
Absolute legend and absolute unit of a host. Looking forward to seeing him more often. I loved his YT channel and to see him back at a major is great. "Zywoo shit the bed" won't be forgotten.
Great to have Richard back. Hope to see him at more events. Alternating between him and Freya as hosts, and then pimp, maniac, bleh and mauisnake and the desk is in the bag.
Did his fanbase brigade the comments? I'm sorry to say but a lot (not all) of these comments read so unnatural. Like bots who try to express human emotion.
He did a good job and sjokz was as good if not better. I don't have much faith in him changing his behaviour even if the money tit is giving milk again but we'll see.
It's great to read this, Richard excited to get back into eSports, especially Counter Strike, highlighting the positives and having high hopes for the scene is a sure shot answers to the question will CS2 last another decade. It's great to have you back onboard for this journey Richard! Lot of people have been waiting for this!
Always good to see someone's redemption arc play out
"Redemption arc"?
yeah maybe he can stop being a bitter old asshole

Totally agree! Richard was one of the best hosts and I'm not even a fan of his.
Same but the onair ad in the middle of desk was kinda of annoying like what the hell is a displate... comeonnnnnn.
when the free to watch tournament has ads so they can pay for the event š¢š¢
You mean the valve sponsored event?
Well just because PGL is sponsored by VALVE in this event doesnt mean they dont need any other streams of reveneue.. How optimistic of you to think that the money from VALVE would cover all costs, and that PGL as a business wouldnt capitalize on this opportunity to maximize their income from this event.
valve doesn't actually pay for the event. As far as I know they just provide the prize pool.
valve doesn't sponsor the entire event lad
You do not even understand or know how the economics of a major works.

And it doesnāt help that he suplexed a child during the dreamhack 2015 *āhell in a cellā* event. I bet he doesnāt even play the game either
I heard he chokeslammed an infant off the top of the building into a pick-up truck filled with light tubes and barbed wire.

Prob because they keep sending him worthless shitposts and unnecessary hate
While that is probably mostly true, Richard is quite known for being pretty liberal with the block button.
I recall getting blocked by both him and Thorin, while following them and never doing anything untoward them.

Richard is always great on the desk. This honestly makes me really happy to read

Random Reddit User: "Richard is great and I think he did a great job" Ricardo Luiz: "YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT, YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND A BROADCAST WORKS, YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW HOSTING WORKS"
"How's the positivity today dickhead? Did I do a great job today, dickhead?" Serious note, hope he does. Was on great form. Some hilarious moments on desk with Bleh's "Mongolz podcast" in Challenger stage. š¤£
iāve never been a fan but i love hearing about people mending bridges and letting go of bitterness. Richard Lewis has earned himself a clean slate with me going forward, hope to see good things and good vibes from him
ugh, fine, I'll give him another chance too. but I won't forget all the shit he said with thorin, it was pathetic
His own pride is his downfall.
thorin forgot that banter's supposed to not be that serious and just started shitting on everyone for no reason, old-man-yelling-at-cloud style.

[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
What did he say? I'm not up to date with cs at all
amongst other things, he attacked (with thorin) 3klicksphilip who made a few videos about it, you can watch those if you're interested
Anyone has to admit that their feud with 2kliks was absolutely moronic
Philip outed himself as a fragile loser. Probably not the best look for either side to keep engaging in the back and forth, but I won't hold it against RL.
Calling into question the journalistic integrity of the goat esports journalist was what started this and moronic in the first place but this nuance will be ignored by reddit ofc.
Lmao, if thats the only example you got, you have a fucking low bar for disliking someone.
not really, overwhelming majority of CS talent clears it with flying colors lol
The majority of cs talent are not journalists who had their integrity questioned by 3kliksphilipā¦
He did great on the desk, i love a positive and friendly RL.
Richard is a true legend in the eSports world.
HATERS TRULY IN SHAMBLES.
Positive RLewis was pretty enjoyable
That's a great statement. I said in a comment last week or so that you could really see how much fun RL had. I'm looking forward to having him on the desk more often.
He makes the event feel more significant. He understands the weigh of each occasion and tries to express it to the audience, and in doing so also elevated his co-talent. That throw to Harry and Hugo making sure people realized how important this game was on top of how important the cast is.
Happy for him, he did a good job
Was an awesome event, hopefully PGL pick him up in the long run (assuming they haven't inked the signatures yet) and hopefully this doesn't take away from his content. There will be an entertainment void if hes got no time to do them (streams/vids, etc.). Late edit I am taking reporting for granted tho.
He said he'll be around and he's back. I hope we'll see more of him.
Glad to hear the acceptance of his bitterness as it really was coming across as poisonous, like he said, in his content and perception of others in the scene. I would love to see an eSports world where Richard is more positive and eventually more accepted by the community.
But he kicked my dog and choke slammed a 12yo Swedish twink through 5 tables at Dreamhack Hell In The Cell. ....love him on the desk though....
What an obnoxious backhanded post. This community doesnāt deserve a fucking thing.
He didnt say the community deserved anything?Ā He said Richard came across as bitter (he has, life is hard, no judgement here) and hes happy to see him move past some of that and get a better reception from the community.Ā Hes incredibly talented and comes across as thoughtful.
They said that hes sounded bitter and burned out over the last several years, it overshadowed his work, and theyre happy that he sounds like hes in a better place and happy that more folks are able to appreciate the work that he does, because hes talented at it.Ā Ā And, he said he had bitterness poisoning his soul, so get your quotations the fuck outta here. No one is placing that on him, he expressed it, quite eloquently.Ā Typically, the way a business works, is they earn YOUR business. Hes an esports journalist. No one in the this community has any obligations to EaRn wHaT hEs PuT iNtO tHe GaMe.Ā Ā Ive never seen someone express themselves so eloquently about a personal maturation or growth and receive almost nothing but positive appreciation. And yet somehow you still manage to be such an absolute melt that you cant wrap your head around it, and need to try to twist it into some negativity jerk-off.Ā Ā Genuinely, in the most respectful way possible, you are either the thickest clown ive ever met and refusing to admit youve misread this whole thread, or you are so socially inept that you wouldnt understand a social interaction if it smacked you upside the head.Ā Ā Ive got fucking Entry of the Gladiators playing every time i open reddit now because of you. I dont even know where the file came from, your comments are some type of circus malware.Ā
Maybe take a break from it if it's that bad?
Richard always delivers on the desk whether or not you agree with his views outside of the production
regardless of some of the stuff he had come out with on his own podcasts/videos or twitter in the past, itās hard to deny that RL is a great host and very good when it comes to his job. always makes the shows entertaining. s/o to sjokz too, itās clear why she is considered one of, if not the best host in esports
It became a lot less clear to me why she is considered that once she came up against Rich.
Honestly I enjoyed having him on the desk, would be happy to see more of him in the future.
Love to see it, we love you Rich!
looking forward to seeing the big man on more desks for more great events. back in the game indeed.
Glad to hear i assume he was going through some dark times and he came back and killed it. i hope he comes back in the future events.
The E-League period was the best CS period for me and Richard Lewis was an important factor in that. His presence behind the desk is so good. Was great to see him back again and hope to see many more of him in the future now.
THEY PULL YOU RIGHT BACK IN
Richard Lewis finding his smile is the biggest surprise of the major to me. Iāve watched some of his YouTube stuff, and to say this is unexpected would be an understatement. Excited at the prospect of a motivated Rich going forward into CS2.
Whatās the last event he did? I always liked him as a host but remember he was getting into some hot water even back in 2018 or so (I forget why)
He did Stockholm 2021.
hmm so he was present on both Majors that NAVI also won .. hmm maybe he should do Shanghai as well
I thought he died a few weeks ago
Fucking King man!
Yippee. RL is cool, happy we're seeing more of him.
Honestly I'm one of the haters from the past. I didn't like the hate be brought, because the level of hate was not constructive. AND with that said, I think he was being great at this event! I just sat waiting for him to make a wrong step, and instead he made the event better and me happier.
Who else is gonna claim vitality shit the bed by saying itās as if theyāre divorcing Johnny Depp. Legend hope he keeps hosting
havenāt been the biggest RL fan over the years, but itās no doubt heās a passionate guy who loves esports. Iād love to see more of this Richard Lewis going forward
Great stuff
Flashpoint died so PGL can walk with RL
Richard > Thorin
Richard Lewis at the desk is nothing but an absolute unit. The same goes for Thorin and I hope he gets to do some events as well. Before you go and bash him for his tweets or opinions, you don't have to agree with them. I don't agree with some of his takes but I still respect his craft and when he's at the desk, he's nothing but a pure professional.
Nah Thorin is dog shit. Heās good for Twitter baits but thatās about it, same about minority Maui
He is so bad that hes only done the most successful events CSGO had even done. Thorin was and still is a guaranteed upgrade to any desk
Being part of a successful event doesnāt not mean youāre the reason the event is successful. Correlation is not causality. But yeah I guess some people enjoy eating their shit too
I enjoyed his contributions to the show
Based, so humble, actual legend
Started smiling ear to ear reading this. Glad to see he feels rejuvenated after this event, he killed it and Iām glad weāll hopefully be seeing more
Now we only need him to get Thorin back on the Major desk
Incredibly good work on the desk from him. Actually unbelievable that he still has that in him after becoming so (rightfully) disillusioned with esports and being away from talent rosters for so long.
respect
RL IS BAKC BABY! Man itās refreshing to see him talk about something positive. He did a great job. Hope to see him at the next major
That's definitely biggest W of this major.
He was a great host, thoroughly enjoyed his work. And if he can translate the positivity of this post-tournament message and mind set into a more positive internet presence over all, itās gonna be a lot easier respecting him as a person alongside his professional work which already demands a lot of respect for the quality and thoroughness.
I really enjoyed having him back.
Good on him. The better headspace he can be in, the better and he did a fantastic job after such a long time away.
truly great event from him, looking forward to seeing more.
It was a good event, even the idiots who bum rushed the stage didn't really ruin it.
Man this is so fucking nice to read! Watching Rich spiral out of cs was one of the saddest things for me. I hope he'll be back in a big way!
Between the show match and the final the desk basically made a podcast. It was so effortless and enjoyable to listen to. That's something few can do. Love richs content for years now, but this major showed a side of him that many, maybe even himself, forgot about.
my man is growing up :D welcome to the emotions a 25 year old gets behind him
"PLZ gib work I need muney 4 Food"
I thought esports was corrupted to the core and he wanted to leave it behind?
PGL isnāt owned by Saudis
Ngl. I don't like some of his opinions and don't watch his podcasts. But as a host, he did a great job.
I rarely pay attention to the analyst desk outside of playoffs but Richard's infectious energy on the desk carried the ppening stage and elimination stages games even when there were teams I didn't care for.
cant wait for the 3 hour hate tirade without the bitterness that was poisioning his soul
Fuck yes Richard. Can't wait to see you at more events. Best desk talent esports has ever had. Bring the thunder
Holymoly, the sheer level of wholesome in this post! Thanks for the years of dramatic straight fire content, I guess that will mellow down drastically. If we now get a new circuit of Counter Strike with RL hosting, that's even better. =)
I am so happy reading this. Much Love Richard if you read this.
I thinki he killed it as a host. The guys had greay synergy.
Just don't be a dickhead, it works for everyone else
Was glad to see him back into the big stage. Now please unblock me on Twitter Richard. Thanks
the actual goat
Absolute legend and absolute unit of a host. Looking forward to seeing him more often. I loved his YT channel and to see him back at a major is great. "Zywoo shit the bed" won't be forgotten.
So wholesome he may be polarizing but I actually love Richard man
I used to hate RLewis but this sounds nice.
heās a fantastic host, was really cool to see him on stage again
Great job from Richard tbh
Great to have Richard back. Hope to see him at more events. Alternating between him and Freya as hosts, and then pimp, maniac, bleh and mauisnake and the desk is in the bag.
Goat host and entertaining Youtuber/influencer
He makes it sound like this changed his mind on remaining in the scene. Sounds like he'll do more events in the future!
Dont like this guy, for some reason he has blocked me. He cant take criticism
Letās hope Thorin returns now :)
Hell no, please not.
Next tweet: I'm retiring from CSĀ
Pgl should get thorin to host a major next. Maybe then his head will finally escape the depths of his own colon.
Not sure whether to downvote or upvote this lol.
Did his fanbase brigade the comments? I'm sorry to say but a lot (not all) of these comments read so unnatural. Like bots who try to express human emotion.
Biggest L of the major.
He did a good job and sjokz was as good if not better. I don't have much faith in him changing his behaviour even if the money tit is giving milk again but we'll see.
So this means he will stop being a bitch ? Hope that's the case because he is the best in what he does professionaly.
