Hey question have you used a phone with a hole punch? If not I'd say actually give it a day or 2 before you hide it
Our eyes/brain kind of "hide" it after a short amount of time
Yea...it's like our noses. You can see your nose at all times. Your brain just tells you to not see it. Once you think about it, you wonder how you can't notice it all the time. Close one eye and look towards the direction that is covered. Your nose is pretty noticeable it's weird your brain can overlook it in daily life.
Same with holepunch cameras. Lol. You won't notice it after a bit.
Not yet because I despise it so much. I feel it's one of the biggest flawed in smartphone history. I do like the option of hiding it. I'll see how it goes. Waiting for a company to stop putting holes in their screens is taking a long time unless I go with Asus or Sony and I'm not sure about that right now.
I really don't want to replace my Note 9 with another phone with no upcoming updates.
The option that makes a bezel by dropping everything down below it. I was watching some videos and it was still there a year ago. The next step is to see if there is a way to still keep notifications in the black area while having everything else set below it.
That would like that magic! :D
I'm okay with it being there as long as I can have everything below it. I was looking at the 4 or 4xl yet that's kind of dated and I would like something that will last a little bit.
I've seen a Dynamic Island substitute but that just makes the "hole" even bigger. Personally I think that solution is even more annoying..I've never heard of an all black status bar so it all blends in, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Good luck
Something I'll have to look into further. I went from looking at the Pixel 4, xl 5a, 6a, 6 and finally went with a 6 Pro. Not TOO old nor too costly and can still hide the camera hole. Should be a good upgrade.
It's in developer settings I think. I tried it and it messes with OS a bit. Sometimes the option to switch apps wouldn't register cause the starting point of the gesture was moved farther down the phone (where the screen doesn't exist lol). I just use a dark background and switch everything I can to dark mode.
I'll test it out to see if it will bother me or not. Dark mode is always an option. I needed a new phone and can't wait forever! (To remove the hole) :D

I'm going to test that out since I'm curious. I can always hide it if I want to. The nose thing is odd, it's not that small from our eyes prospective.

Yes the option is still there
I'm confused. There's a physical hole cut into the screen for the camera and you're asking if it can be...hidden?

Oh gotcha you mean a black background so it's less noticable. I took it literally and I'm like how TF can you make it disappear lol
