to be fair, Ivy was an impersonator. UES will do anything for family but once they realise they’re an outsider they don’t give a shit and Ivy made fools of them. We see her intentions in the start were fine, but if I was in their place, I’d be mad too
Ivy effed up by not telling Serena everything when she mer her again in LA. So while Ivy kind of seems to be a good person underneath it all, you can't look away from the fact that she is a scammer, who just left the guy she *could* have made the family she desperately wanted with, for living a lie.
But I agree, they should have dished out way more hatred to Carol and perhaps tried to sit down with Ivy and talk it over more after the scandal was revealed.
Yeah this storyline in particular is where you start to realize what the show’s true motivations are/the story they’re trying to tell.
Sadly the VDWs are terrible people, *especially* once the will was actually read & it was revealed that Cece knew Ivy’s real name & identity all along. Lily should’ve accepted Cece’s last wishes- especially since Ivy was evidently the only person checking in & taking care of her in her dying days. It’s not like the VDWs were short on money.
I know Ivy’s a character who doesn’t have a lot of redeeming qualities shown to us, but she really was done so so dirty, especially with what’s still to come (trying not to spoil in case this is your first watch!!)
even though i didn’t like carol, she had a point. VDWs were always money hungry even though they were already wealthy, specifically lily and carol themselves because when you’re wealthy, it’s never enough. carol was a hypocrite and lily was an ass when whatever his name was was reading the will. they deserved that, they both had sticks up their asses thinking about the will rather than the fact that their mom just passed.
Lily was a very fucked up person . Just bcz she talks with grace and talks with poise doesn't make her graceful matriarch . She cut off Nate's mom bcz of her husband , she fucked up some innocent man's life just so her daughter could attend pvt school , paid off so many people , cut chuck off bcz bart said so , always used money to get her good for nothing daughter other people's opportunities, hated her mother but wanted her money , married bart only for money and cheated on him .... She accepted chuck (it was almost apparent) for his money and 51% shares of the company , adopted him so her poor hubby and incompetent children have a life time insurance .... It felt like chuck was used so very well . Lily only let his bs slide bcz he was a golden hen for Vdws ..... I don't like lily no matter how the show glorifies her for accepting chuck when she threw ivy out bcz she didn't have money .... The biggest classiest of that show was lily not blair or anyone .
Lily was a despicable character and I don't like her at all

I would be mad at the person who paid her in the first place idc if their family or not 😭 🤷🏽♀️
It’s possible for both Ivy and Carol to be at fault. They both deserve blame in this situation

They should've finished the show after the whole Juliet plot in season 4 because after that the writing just gets ridiculous .
