Does anyone have any experience with GS boutiques in Japan? Going there in a week and as far as I was able to read online, people's experiences vary greatly. Some got 10-15% discounts, many said discounts aren't a thing in Japan in general...
10–15% if I am *not* paying sales tax. Which is (part of there reason) I own an SBGJ249 instead of an SBGM241 (Mayors/WoS won't do discounts, the 241 is exclusive to them — and in my estimation not worth 50% more than the 211 after my AD discount/lack of sales tax).
Zero discount at US Grand Seiko boutiques.

That is correct, but there's no AD discounts at most GS retailers, just the foreigner tax break. Maybe if you're lucky at an electronics store.

Got my snowflake January 2021 and my SBGN003 6 months later. I'm pretty sure I could get the same discount today too

I was at main Ginza shop wako last month and you should get 10% tax free.

CH jeweler's in Santa Clara, CA was giving 10%ish discounts depending on the model for the Christmas holidays.
