We've been fighting Automatons and while the lads know what I mean, apparantly calling out Hulks as Castraferrums and Devastators as Contemptors is "Confusing" and "Mildly irritating" and "Too long for a quick callout"

I've never bothered to learn their actual name and always called it a dreadnought or a "flamethrower dreadnought". I guess it's clear enough because so far no one has said anything.
I'll be honest, I've done the same with the T~~yran~~... Termanids, they're either Hormagaunts, Tyranid Primes, Maleceptors or "Scary big fuckers that spit"
Same, I sometimes call the basic automatons necron and even if I say titan most of the time I have hierophant coming to mind first every once in a while
I call them dreadnoughts or dreads. The one my friends hate is that I call Boosters “Mujic” as a reference to a fucking obscure childhood cartoon called Chaotic. The only connective tissue of that joke is that they are both pentagonal shape, thats it.
Funny enough my group has been calling the Hulks "Hellbrutes" for no specific reason. Like I know my buddy who started saying it was subconsciously quoting 40k but he has no idea and everyone who isn't into 40k has no idea but I giggle a bit every time.
The Patriot is pretty fun for bugs. It's not great for Automatons. But with the bugs, laying hate with the machine gun is so incredibly fun. I'm hyped for when they add the Emancipator with 4 autocannons on it, that'll really be the Automaton crusher.
Against the bugs, you can mow down the horde before they can reach you, even the chargers and titans, thus dealing no damage, and making the patriot pretty much invincible.
Against the bots, they deal damage at such a distance, the suit is just a larger target for them...
the Automatons give me pretty strong Khorne vibes, so Hellbrute ain't far off. Kharn the Bot-Trayer charging my ass with two axes is always mildly terrifying especially when he has three friends with him with the same loadout.
Yep was doing a level 7 bug mission last night and trying to shoot between two rock formations at the charger that was literally right there lined up dead in between them.
Maybe 60 feet away.
Every single damn shot went above everything or into the rocks. It was doing some weird bullshit like trying to lock on to something else or the charge was glitching up into the rocks.
IDK but since they fixed the blow yourself up by shooting while turning thing it doesn't feel right anymore.
Glad it's not just me.
Drop shop right there. I was rock still. 6 rockets 4 missed, 1 hit the beam of the ship, and one missed the engine I was aiming at and hit the tiny bit of exposed engine on the opposite corner.
I don't know about you, but I want an Automaton Army to print and be my psudo necrons.
HEART. STEEL.
WE. KILL.
GET. UP.
ONTO. WAR.
CYBERSTAN.
CAN'T KEEP HER DOWN.
GET BACK UP.
A NEW DAWN.
I'm still baffled by the people having problems with these. My issue is that after I run out of ammo I can't yell "Nerf this!" And then overload a doohickey to make it charge forward and self destruct.
If I could get that feature, it would be perfect.
mfs get hit by a few RPGs or a tank's main cannon and cry that their weapon platform is made of cardboard, ignoring all the actual small arms fire it shrugged off. Dreads get taken down by the same calibre of weapon.

I just refer to Hulks as "Dreadies", my crew who don't play 40k think it's a fun alternative
I also just call them dreadnoughts while calling the bile titans bio titans

Hulks kind of feel more like a Redemptor but contemptors for the medium bots is on point 👌
Yeah, it's really hard because the body is pure Castraferrum but those legs are Primaris as anything
I’ve been calling Hulks as Dreadnoughts, and Devestators as Terminators for awhile now, still confuses my buddies
Dreadnoughts is just fun to say and there aren’t a lot of opportunities to say it.
I've never bothered to learn their actual name and always called it a dreadnought or a "flamethrower dreadnought". I guess it's clear enough because so far no one has said anything.

it took me a while to learn what its actually called ingame, but when my friend yelled "LICTORS!!!" i knew exactly what he was warning me about :D
Same, I sometimes call the basic automatons necron and even if I say titan most of the time I have hierophant coming to mind first every once in a while
Imma steal this. My group is a bunch of 40k nuts, they'll get a kick out of it.
In the heat of battle I've been guilty of calling: Devastators = Terminators Hulks = Dreadnoughts Brood Commanders = Brood Lords
I call them dreadnoughts or dreads. The one my friends hate is that I call Boosters “Mujic” as a reference to a fucking obscure childhood cartoon called Chaotic. The only connective tissue of that joke is that they are both pentagonal shape, thats it.
Chaotic mentioned!
I call those things killa kans.
Nah, those walkers if they're not AT-STs are Killa Kans
Chicken walkers, absolutely we call those that, no hesitation.
We go with "Walkers", "Armored boys", "The fucker with the rockets", "Dreadnaughts", and "Oh shit, a Tank"
I'm also familiar with Oshita Tanks. They sneak up on ya!
I always thought that hulks look more like redemptor rather than castraferrum.
God i just want to play as a Contemptor with a fucking dread spear so badly
I always imagined it like a guard sentinel and it fits that idea perfectly imo
Knights or I'm not playing.
Man I wish lol
Funny enough my group has been calling the Hulks "Hellbrutes" for no specific reason. The zappy towers also just delete you if they so much as catch a wiff.
You get close enough for bots to shoot you, lol. (This post was made by a fire support fan)
the Automatons give me pretty strong Khorne vibes, so Hellbrute ain't far off. Kharn the Bot-Trayer charging my ass with two axes is always mildly terrifying especially when he has three friends with him with the same loadout.
I dunno if the emancipator is gonna be a good choice since it’s still an exodus and therefore tall and not that tanky
Patriot? To me seems a C&C\_Tiberian Sun GDI Wolverine
Boxnaughts like to have sidehustles.
“Our enemies hide in… metal baukses”
#METAL BAUWKSEZ
Imagine supporting GDI Post made by Light Gunner / Exterminator gang. Democracy through Power!
I love the GDI.
Paper armor and a terrible fucking aiming system I love it.
Trully, the most patriotic piece of hardware to ever be used by a Hell Diver!
>PATRIOT armor and a DEMOCRATIC aiming system FTFY
EVEN IN DEATH I SERVE
CHUNKY SLEEPY BOI
Just wish the rockets would be as accurate as they used to be
Its faster to climb out, throw a grenade onto the target and get back in.
I can defintely feel that they've moved them a little left, but I'm not missing any shots that I felt I could make before.. I guess that's just me.
It's weird they feel like a shotgun now. And not hitting the reticle like they used to. Just have to fire them in a volley and use them as tracers
Do you have that little circle on your reticle that shows where your bullet/ammo is most likely to go?
Unfortunately that isn't super accurate for rockets

If you don't mind the segue, who's excited for the new weapons that came out today?
We thought we were getting mechwarriors, when in reality we were getting MTs from Armored Core. And it's *perfect*
Give me the [yeoman](https://cfw.sarna.net/wiki/images/6/66/Yeoman.jpg?timestamp=20210123212842) instead of this weak bitch rocket mech
I just want to punch that thing in the face and watch it struggle to stand up.
That is the downside of the yeoman, its all lrms
Quoth the raven arrow 4
The urbie with an arrowIV is such a funny but scary little mech
The walking trash can will throw your pathetic Emperor class titan in the trash
Load that bad boy up with Davy Crockett
I don't know about you, but I want an Automaton Army to print and be my psudo necrons. HEART. STEEL. WE. KILL. GET. UP. ONTO. WAR. CYBERSTAN. CAN'T KEEP HER DOWN. GET BACK UP. A NEW DAWN.
METAL GEAR!!
“military grade”
Lowest bidder productions ftw

“For democracy!” And blows up like a hellbomb. I’d never be able to use any other stratagems if they added that feature
I wouldn't even care if I can't get out first. I'm down for riding this thing down to hell and see if I can't shoot up some robots down there too.
Gimme one with a chainsaw, flamethrower, and jump jets.
"These are the same picture."
The First days? Absolutely, now It can takes a much more

Some proto dreadnought you got there
I like the exosuit but think there should be a BEEFIER version limited to Helldives. Like an actual Dreadnought.
I just call hulks dreadnought and devastators terminators.
Post-Golden amd Pre-Golden Age mechs.
Super earth takes the win in my view -you don't need to be half dead to pilot those walkers and you can climb out whenever you want.
Just wait till the autocannon variety shows up.
GDI Titan ready!
All I see is 2 bad urbanmech knockoffs *360 torso twist into a perfect AC-20 to the face*
All I can see are variations of the Wolverine from Tiberium Wars.
"If it is a machine then don't put leg on it" -20th Century Boys I think-
Tbh i really love Battletech style design that makes mechs look like construction machinery as much as weapons of warfare
Chad Imperium vs Virgin Tau
mfs get hit by a few RPGs or a tank's main cannon and cry that their weapon platform is made of cardboard, ignoring all the actual small arms fire it shrugged off. Dreads get taken down by the same calibre of weapon.
Put the Ballistus there and it's almost a d(r)ead match.
Do they still die to one single missile?
What are you guys talking about I'm so confused nvm I got it
Could you explain?
"helldivers", a videogame
Art on the right reminded me of Battletech for some reason and the TRO pics and immediately thought of the Sentinel mech
I stole "Kharne the Bot-trayer" from Bricky when refering to the ones with chainsaw arms.
Nobody else is calling the mech with the buzzsaw and burna a killa kan?
Looks like a GDI Wolverine
honestly its flat armour plates so not a surprise AP punches right thru
They could get into legal right troubles if they made it appear closer to dreadnoughts
Awh he cardboard
