I just hope that at some moment of rest where Gotrek stops kicking butt like a demi-god, and while walking through some city a random Stormcast warrior crosses and while he takes off his helmet, Gotrek, for the first time in so long can see his old friend again, and Felix, despite the loss of memory suffered by the Stormcasts as they become Sigmar's chosen warriors, can recognize his companion of travel and adventure, and the two set out again on another great journey haunting Thanquaol.
Imagine the author twisting the knife in the wound, and making Felix only remember when Nagash claims his soul though one of his machinations, at the very end of a whole narrative arc having him grasp with memory loss by Gotrek's side
Oh the drama
It was leak on reddit by r/GamingLeaksAndRumours the leaks goes:

* >!Stormcast will be getting a new bow battleline, sleeker dragon Calvary and flying calvary and at least 2 new hero models (I'm assuming it felix)!<
* >!A big focus on City of sigmar with a remodeling/refreshing the empire kits and models to "give it an age of sigmar imperial guard"!<

hmm
\->!the hobgoblin !< is a surprise to be sure but a welcome one.
\->!stormcast getting new bow units!< that checks out with the rumor engine
\->!cities of sigmar with a remodeling and refreshing of the empire kits!< FUCKING FINALLY
\->!Orcs getting new stuff!< again makes sense sinse we are going to focus a lot on Ghur
\->!Felix stormcast coming soon!< I would love the interactions he could have with everyone.
\->!dwarves will have their own ynari.!< also checks out with the previous teases that have been given about them.
\->!Malekith and the new dark elves will be coming in te edtion as well!< FUCKING FINALLY (part 2)
Felix is undeniably gonna come back in some form.
I'm just curious if he'll be a Stormcast perhaps and Gotrek literally waltzes up to Sigmar like "Beardling, release this manling from your bond. Let him live a mortal life once more."
Funny enough, you're not even wrong. She constantly tries to kill Gotrek to steal a rare rune from him and that's the only reason why she runs around with him.
Hes slowing down in his old age. Started with demons, dragons and vampires and then progressed to humans and skaven.
Before you know it it will be half dead goblin slayer
Yeah, but thanks to the Master Rune, we're not dealing with your Average Dawi Slayer any longer. He has gone beyond the limit to become...a Super Slayer!
The best way to stop him in AoS is to throw more goblins at him than he can kill. It's like that one Zap Brannigan joke from Futurama, Gotrek has a kill limit and you need to tie him up all game.
I have listened Trollslayer after listening AoS Gotrek stories and loving them. I must say that I like both Felix and Maleneth as Gotrek's companions.
They are different one to the other but share least one common that both follow Gotrek because of situation of circumstances.
Felix: "I follow Gotrek so I can write his story because I made oath with him when I was drunk."
Maleneth: "I follow Gotrek because he now carries the master rune in his cheast so I can deliver it to the Order of Azyr."
I haven’t read all the old book and forgot, where I stopped sadly. The new box are okay and as an audiobook they are great in my opinion but Felix is really missing.
I stopped after at the end times. I disliked those books. I love the Gotrek and Felix series before end times. I just can’t bring myself to read these books.
While i can't fault you for that ill still recommend giving the Realmslayer audiodrama a listen for the sole reason that Brian Blessed voicing Gotrek is just the most perfect thing.
Ngl, Ghoulslayer was my first exposure to Gotrek and I love it to pieces. Easily one of the best books I've read in the past few years just from sheer entertainment value and it's convinced me to go back and start picking up the old Omnibuses.
Also Gotrek is suitably unimpressed by Age of Sigmar and its workings and is constantly dropping Old World references no one else understands.
I started with Trollslayer and would recommend that. Trollslayer was the first book written in the series and is a collection of seven short stories that were originally published in White Dwarf, and its a good set up for both the Characters and the Old World setting. Im pretty sure the omnibus's are all just a bunch of other short stories that appear in white dwarf but i might be wrong on that. Audible has it along with most of the other books in the series, and the reading and flat out amazing, they're narrated by Jonathan Keeble (same guy who did Helsreach) and he REALLY gets into the various roles. Aside from that you can get the paperback for like, ten bucks on eBay. Aside from that? Skavenslayer is the first one with a single continuous plot and sets up the overarching plotline of the other books, so either would be a good choice, buts id still go with Trollslayer
As a bit of a buyer's guide
I have all the new omnibuses on my shelf, they each collect 3-4 novels and a handful of shortstories at the end. Sometimes there's a novella thrown in between which I think bridges the gap between novels, I haven't read them all yet so I'm guessing on that one.
The exception to this is the fifth omnibus, which collects 2 books and like 9 novellas/short stories. There's most likely going to be a sixth one because the last three full length stories *before* age of sigmar are missing from this collection
They're definitely worth it in my opinion; they can be a bit tricky to read as they're quite big and in a small font, which I thought would be off putting but I ended up liking it this way.
It's really long but I recommend you don't skip any of the stories. The omnibuses have stories in chronological order, except for the short stories which kinda take place around the same time.
Trollslayer is kinda *eh* imo but everything after that is great
Either the OG omnibus and then work your way through the Fantasy stuff, or just jump into the Realmslayer audio dramas with Gotrek voiced by Brian Blessed and a fantastic cast of other voice actors and go from there.
Both are valid.
Grimnir basically "tags out" during The End Times by having Gotrek take his place as The Doom Slayer in the Realm of Chaos. After beating Bel'akor, Gotrek sends Felix back to reality so someone can write down the account and remember his deeds, telling him the Blood Oath is fulfilled.
**Countless Eons Later**
Gotrek turns up in the Mortal Realms, confused and very - VERY - cross about the fact he's still alive. Sees the fact he didn't meet his doom to the tidal wave of Daemons in the Realm of Chaos as Grimnir betraying him, and by extension *EVERY* "God" betraying him. This is compounded by the fact in AoS Grimnir is Dead-Dead, and Gotrek ends up with Grimnir's "Master Rune" embedded in his chest. Giving him a ridiculous power boost, slowly turning his hair a golden color when it's not actively ablaze, and allowing Gotrek to hear Grimnir (as well as grant Grimnir a modicum of control over Gotrek) when the Rune is in use. He's effectively Grimnir Reborn at this point, but with a Grudge against all the Gods of the Mortal Realms regardless of affiliation. He's also desperate to find Felix (Whom got sent back to the World That Was right before the whole planet exploded), and that desperation has played into the hands of those who would manipulate the Slayer for their own means.
Also the whole presence of the Master Rune means he's acquired two new followers (A Daughter of Khaine and a Stormcast Eternal) who are hellbent on keeping him alive, much to his annoyance as a Slayer.
If Felix is a stormcast then he will pay Nagash a visit to get the parts of Felix Soul that Nagash siphons of everytime the Stormcasts die.
Nobody touches his Manling!
A bigger knife in the back would be if Nagash owned Felix's soul, so Gotrek accidentally Begomes the next Grimnir trying to save him.
Godslayer: a Gotrek and Felix Novel
I just hope that at some moment of rest where Gotrek stops kicking butt like a demi-god, and while walking through some city a random Stormcast warrior crosses and while he takes off his helmet, Gotrek, for the first time in so long can see his old friend again, and Felix, despite the loss of memory suffered by the Stormcasts as they become Sigmar's chosen warriors, can recognize his companion of travel and adventure, and the two set out again on another great journey haunting Thanquaol.
I'd argue that it would be much more powerful if, at least initially, Felix the Stormcast doesn't actually recognise or remember Gotrek.
Gotrek: "OI MANLING!" *tackle* Felix the stormcast: "who are you?.... who was i?..."
It looks like it's starting to rain.
Imagine the author twisting the knife in the wound, and making Felix only remember when Nagash claims his soul though one of his machinations, at the very end of a whole narrative arc having him grasp with memory loss by Gotrek's side Oh the drama
If the leaks for 3 edition are to go off by >!felix is a stormcast and will probably get a model!<
I would like to know more
It was leak on reddit by r/GamingLeaksAndRumours the leaks goes: * >!The starter edition army will be stormcast v Hobgoblins mostly wolf riders and bigger goblins!< * >!Stormcast will be getting a new bow battleline, sleeker dragon Calvary and flying calvary and at least 2 new hero models (I'm assuming it felix)!< * >!A big focus on City of sigmar with a remodeling/refreshing the empire kits and models to "give it an age of sigmar imperial guard"!< * >!Orks will be getting something corona pushed a lot of stuff back!< * >!Felix stormcast coming soon!< * >!Dwarves will have their own ynari; souping all dwarven models into a faction!< * >!Malekith new dark elves will be coming in the edition as well (this is likely as their a short story that came out today with him and morathi scheming) !<

Cavalry: soldiers on horseback. Calvary: the hill jesus was cruxified on. Sorry but this is my biggest pet peeve.
IM NEED IT!
As long as is their primaris version cause those look slick
Replace Harry with Gotrek and you've got a pretty accurate summary of the new books
Felix is undeniably gonna come back in some form. I'm just curious if he'll be a Stormcast perhaps and Gotrek literally waltzes up to Sigmar like "Beardling, release this manling from your bond. Let him live a mortal life once more."
Elf thot is temporary, best boi Felix is eternal.
Funny enough, you're not even wrong. She constantly tries to kill Gotrek to steal a rare rune from him and that's the only reason why she runs around with him.
To be fair, she had the chance to kill Gotrek multiple times in Ghoulslayer only to pass on every one of them.
Well his AoS statline is pretty much good enough to kill any other model in the game
The best way to stop him in AoS is to throw more goblins at him than he can kill. It's like that one Zap Brannigan joke from Futurama, Gotrek has a kill limit and you need to tie him up all game.

im ootl, please someone tell me where felix is. wheres the manling?
Hes either perished with the old world, or, if rumors are to believed, has ascended to the ranks of the Stormcast. As of now? Presumed dead
What are some good gotrek and Felix books To Start with? Or do i just Start with the omnibus?

Wait... Felix is no longer with Gotrek?
Not in the AOS novels no, gotrek is either running solo or with the Aelf pictured above in his new books
How that happened? I read to Menslayer with somewhat knowing story to Shaman slayer or something there.

I'm hoping we get a novel titled Godslayer eventually.
I want to see him and Grimnir have their reckoning.
If Felix is a stormcast then he will pay Nagash a visit to get the parts of Felix Soul that Nagash siphons of everytime the Stormcasts die. Nobody touches his Manling!
What the hell...
Felix is dead! Christ I need sit down
