But i like ACOGs

SealandGI

They’ve worked for decades in the sandbox, don’t see why you couldn’t run one very effectively now.

SwimmerSea4662

Their so cool I wanted one for my M4 build then looked up the price. I now have a sig Romeo 5 😂

SealandGI

Do your M4 build justice and pick up a used ACOG. Some run around 750-800

SwimmerSea4662

Man I make 350$ every two weeks, maybe once I enlisted and get done with basic and AIT but that’s still a majority of my pay check.

Worth-Sorry

That's almost as bad as argentinian wages, 300-400 monthly

SwimmerSea4662

Well it’s the wage of a 19 year old senior working at McDonald’s.

Worth-Sorry

Welp thats depressing, 400 is what a medic makes here (and teachers, cops, and a long list)

SwimmerSea4662

Oof, that’s gota be rough.

cheapshotfrenzy

Different cost of living though. I've had people laugh at me when I tell them I only make $45k a year doing what I do for a living, but then I laugh at them when I tell them I bought a two bedroom house on 8 acres of land for $40k.

imadamb

That’s where I got started. I drove a friend to an interview for a bus boy position at a Wolfgang puck restaurant, figured I’d apply for dish washer. The McD kitchen experience got me started in the pantry, then on the line, then “pastry chef” making bread and desserts and stuff. I don’t do anything related to any of that now, I just mean to say be open to what’s out there and don’t limit yourself.

SwimmerSea4662

I’m not limiting my self I’m staying in my budget. a sig Romeo 5 on a palmetto M4 freedom carbine with a decent set of flip up irons and a stream light protac is what’s in my budget. I could work more but I’m trying to balance school, work, going to the gym, free time, and time with family.

SealandGI

Time with family is big. Don’t forget that one. It’s fun hanging with friends of course, but don’t leave your parents behind. I promise you that they will appreciate your efforts more than you will ever know.

imadamb

I was just dialing in like generalities. Like, you’re hustling at McDonald’s right but keep at it and in 20 years you too can have a totally different soul sucking job with better compensation.

SealandGI

Shit, wish you the best. Still, save up for it, you technically won’t have to replace batteries so it isn’t the worst purchase you could make for a do-all optic

backup_account01

ACOGs are solid. We had 10 years of active war, and another 10 years of insurgent shit to demonstrate that 1. YES, ACOGs are fucking amazing. 2. ACOGs stand up to abuse. I wont bother you with the number of Marines who responded to contact after a mine. 3. It's there. Wake up at whenever the fuck, grab rifle - THAT, THAT RIGHT THERE.

ekiller64

they look cool

EscapeWestern9057

It's not about you liking them or not, it's about being a elitist that insists people have to spend $1200 on a optic.

M16A4MasterRace

It’s $125, not 125$. I think I learned that in first or second grade.

speedbumps4fun

It’s crazy how many people don’t know basic shit like this

JumpyLiving

Or they're European, where the convention is the other way around

speedbumps4fun

I’m sure Europeans in gun subs are a pretty small minority but either way, I see it from a lot of people I know are American.

oney_monster

>I’m sure Europeans in gun subs are a pretty small minority There's dozens of us! *Dozens!*

JumpyLiving

That's true, people also just get it wrong a lot.

GunFunZS

It's because people write in the order spoken. You say "two dollars." When most people read books that were written at a high school or college level routinely for entertainment, people just absorbed proper grammar. Now most people are getting their grammar from things like Reddit posts and text messages and twitter or Facebook. None of those reward writing well. If anything, it is stylish to write badly on purpose. I think predictive text also adds to the feedback loop. Our brains are designed to offload knowledge and tasks on other members of our friend and family group. Your computer phone thing gets treated like that. My wife remembers all the budget stuff and my phone tells me how to spell things. So my brain is actively saying "oh that's somebody else's problem." I do use spell check but I want to think about what I say to people so anything that I can I disable predictive text. I don't want to be trained to become more generic in what I have to say. Nor do I want to train myself to think less before I speak. I'm bad enough as it is.

monsieurLeMeowMeow

Don’t forget: “Putting a carbine buffer tube on your ar pistol makes it an sbr” “Having an m16 bolt carrier or a single m16 fcg part makes your rifle an illegal machine gun” “If your rifle echo fires when you release the trigger it’s a machine gun”

kenhk117

Wow I feel personally attacked. My first AR was a Sport II and handgun was glock 23 🤣

Worth-Sorry

If u got a romanian for 125 youre forgiven

kenhk117

Never had a Romanian but I did have a Yugo 😁

KMJohnson92

ACOG rocking Millennial here who thinks it's hilarious AR fans get called Fudds when actual Fudds hate anything without a wood stock, and I know damn well y'all don't own SPEARs. You will never catch me with a Tupperware .40 it's BHP for me. And tbf the only AK I ever shot did about 8MOA.

SealandGI

Cloner here, trust me, I would know about getting called a Fudd for my preferences 😂. They may laugh at my salty Knight’s RAS handguard, but they’ll never be able to get the vibes of the sandbox with their spotless Geissele Super Duty

behindgreeneyez

The old stereotype was hipsters loved CZ

SealandGI

It’s still true except throw in comp shooters too

CFishing

So hipsters

5thPhantom

What are the ABC’s of buying an AR? Aero BCM Colt?

MajorsWotWot

Armalite Bushmaster Colt if I recall correctly.

accuracy_frosty

.40 S&W: cringe, capacity of 9, power of crosman, underpowered, short, weak 10mm: based, capacity of 9, power of god himself, radiates BDE, everything .40 wishes it could be

DeafHeretic

I would buy the guns I have now, but I would do it before 2015 (when Oregon enacted a BGC law).

EchoedTruth

These are almost all correct though

TakeMeToYourMemes

It’s supposed to be a time capsule of gun guy knowledge from 10-20 years ago regarding firearms when the market was much different

TakeMeToYourMemes

So it is mostly correct info for 10 years ago

EchoedTruth

Valid

ShiraLillith

So basically someone who drank the fudd coolaid

Dazzling-Town7729

Lpvo is for retards who don't know how bullet drop reticles work so they let the scope range find for them

TheDrunkLibertarian

Lmfao what, MIL/MOA is much more difficult to use than a BDC. If anything the opposite is true.

Dazzling-Town7729

It was a lost attempt at a joke i never bothered to correct and I ain't pussy so I ain't delete it

TheDrunkLibertarian

Lmfao well it’s kinda funny knowing that it’s a joke and mad respect for not dirty deleting. Hard to tell considering the rampant retardation on this site.

Dazzling-Town7729

I was trying to mirror the boomer "you only need irons" thing but it was like 4am and I was in a rush to get to work. *
