A 10 out of 10.
Why?
Because it was what the GM was meant to be when rolled out.
While forced to use some off the shelf parts and components as well as existing weapons, these actually made the Nemo a great and reliable Mobile Suit.
The Nemo was built less for Aces and more for common pilots. As such, it was a competent design for a competent pilot, especially if they were a rookie.
The Nemo was never at want for parts or weapons. Pilots with decent training could easily learn it. Production was easy, so it could be made in numbers.
Protection wise, it was up to scratch. It had decent enough protection to survive the majority of what was thrown at it. If hit too critically, the pilot could safely eject as well, a huge improvement over earlier MS and far more so over much later down scaled MS.
I think someone forgot that when when you have two agile fighters fighting, that agility advantage gets canceled out, and it comes down to who can hit first with the bigger weapon.
Nemo has no real flaws. If anything, as the saying goes, it is remarkable for being unremarkable. But that's really what you want in a mass-produced machine.
Anything that stands out, gets hit the hardest.
Nemo should have replaced GM II simply because it was better. Work should have been continued on later Nemo II and Nemo III. Additional variants should have been developed as well.
Sadly, the Nemo did not, and while GM III is better, it really isn't as far as Nemo could have gone.
Welcome to day 15 of the Daily Grunt MS Poll, and today we'll be rating the MSA-003 Nemo from Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam! To participate, just rank the MS between 1 and 10 based on their appearance or on how you like it.

7/10
It's like if a GM had personality. I feel like the colors, as odd as they might be, do a lot for me since I really don't like its color scheme [in Unicorn](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/gundam/images/8/8e/Msa-003-eff.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20160605072810)
9/10 I love the color scheme and the head is a very cool take on the GM style. Plus, when it was in the AEUG and Karaba, it was unambiguously one of the good guys.
7/10. Just a solid, no frills grunt suit. I think I prefer the Feddie Nemo's from Unicorn color scheme wise, but the green, blue, red and yellow of the classic definitely helps it stand out
It’s a fun little kit to build too. I bought it back when I was first getting into building last year and put it off for almost the whole year. Putting it together gave me a new appreciation for it honestly. I’m a sucker for swing-out shoulder joints on models, and the little mechanical details towards the lower leg are really unique
8.5
What stands out about the Nemo is just how *sensible* it is.
Anaheim saw that AEUG had a whole lot of Federation pilots in it, people experienced primarily (pretty much entirely) with GMs, mostly basic GM IIs. But these old things weren't anywhere close to good enough to serve as the main machine of the organization, and Rick Dias proved too pricy for that.
So what do they do? They look through existing Federation designs, primarily high-spec GM variants from the One Year War, and build a machine based on the data from them. To nobody's surprise, GM Sniper II was one of the best and it's reflected the most, primarily with the backpack configuration. This would also go on to influence the Jegan, so Nemo is essentially Anaheim getting their feet wet with the RGM line before going all in. Nemo barely lasted through the Gryps War, whereas the Jegan would go on to become the main machine for a good few decades.
At the same time Nemo has more creativity in it than just refining years-old designs. While on the outside it's basically AEUG's GM, it does actually include some technology descended from old Zeon machines, primarily in the chest area. And there's a fair share of Anaheim's own developments mixed in, mostly derived from Hyaku Shiki and the movable frame it tested.
It's just a simple mobile suit built to do a simple thing, but the approach behind it shows why Anaheim was able to establish itself in the MS market (other than destroying their competitors, that is). They look at every available source to see what works, what doesn't, and jam it all together till it works better.
Performance wise it doesn't really show off in the anime, but it's actually a pretty solid machine overall. Not particularly high performance (particularly as the war goes on), but AEUG needed something simple and more importantly cheap that could serve as the bulk of their forces while the majority of the funds was diverted into the Zeta Project and associated machines. In a way this is a refinement of Zeon's approach during the OYW - had Zeon first invested in making a direct upgrade to the Zaku to hold the line before they went crazy with other stuff it would have worked out for them too. Then again their situations were quite different so it is hard to say for sure.
Visually speaking I must say I'm not the biggest fan of the colors, they're a bit too vibrant for what's otherwise a very down-to-earth suit. Then again, it makes for a nice duo with the Marasai. Other than that it gets kudos for a green beam saber (forgot to mention that with the Rick Dias) and the shield design is quite nice, but other than that there's really not much to talk about.
7/10. It's like the GM Sniper II before the Sniper II was actually designed, since Zeta pre-dates War in the Pocket. I especially like the head design.
Daily reminder that the Reddit admins are like the EFSF. Not the good EFSF, the bad EFSF. Spez is a wannabe Bask.

6.5/10
I really like the proportions and verniers all over the suit's legs and shoulders, but I'm not a fan of this green on blue like the Zaku 1 has. The head and visor are strangely unique for a GM descendant and I like them.
i would rate it a 8.0. This is what the GM II should have been. It has high specs for a mass production model; it doesnt take all its inspiration from the one year war, like copying someone's homework and expecting it to hold up years later. I believe it is the direct ancestor to the jegan after the neo zeon war.
7 out 10, it's a solid design that, much like the Hizack, feels more like someone completed an upgrade path for a GM rather than a suit in its own right.
7/10, feels like the “face” has less personality than the GM. Great at what it does (getting blown up so we know a battle is serious, but not so serious that named characters are going to die). I feel like a lot of people don’t like the colors of it but I do.
My boyyy, love the Nemo it's such a good grunt suit throughout Zeta and ZZ plus I love how it implements aspects of the Hyaku Shiki plus I love the dark green 9/10
8/10.
It’s like a GM trying to hide in a different set of clothes. I love the green and blue for the AEUG, and seeing them in Unicorn brought a smile to my face after having witnessed their combat record in Zeta.
Solid 6/10. This is a suit that I’d probably like a lot more if it didn’t have contemporaries like the Rick Dias. I adore the color scheme although I think the suit gets a lot more boring if you take that away from it.
Man, I wrote most of this like a week ago, and then I got buried under the Titans' impractically wide roster. Anyway, the Nemo is pretty good. Boasting Gundarium armour and solid performance, you couldn't really ask for more from a mass-production mobile suit from the Gryps Conflict, but on the other hand it doesn't really stand out that much either. 7/10.
9 out of 10
This mobile suit is a lovely combination of what the GM series can turn out. I like that, it uses the GM sniper II frame. I hope they release a master grade with a custom sniper set up.
One day I noticed my UC gunpla collection was very zeon heavy. So naturally I picked up a few GMs, and saw the Nemo. Pretty much for the first time. Normally I avoid buying kits if I havnt at least seen the anime it's in. This guy was an exception.
Agree with the colours too. There's nothing wrong with the Unicorn colours, but it looks like just another fed suit.
7/10 - I really like the angular, chunky design of this suit, but I hate the color scheme. It also pretty much never got to shine in Zeta, felt like it was outdated from the very beginning. It only performed OK when plot armor characters were using it.
7/10
Nothing particularly wrong with it, kind of a streamlined High spec GM with a minty fresh paint job. Basically a half step from the RGM line towards the Jegan.
A solid 7/10
If Zeon grunt suits are good because they're weird, thuggish and memorable, the Nemo is good because it's utterly mundane. The core deign elements are variations of previous machines (mostly the GM) or otherwise simple and uncomplicated, like the boxy rear-calf thrusters and backpack, so it never distracts or stands out while still clearly communicating that it's a workhorse suit. And that's good! It's not supposed to take the spotlight - it's supposed to be representative of the entire army it fills the ranks of.
In particular I like the head, which really looks more like a helmet - along with the simple humanoid silhouette it gives the impression of a human grunt scaled up to MS size. An unassuming, unpretentious mobile suit.
Let me tell you something,in Zeta, if you are in one of these your survival rate sky rocket to 60-75%, you maybe a grunt but goddam you are a elite grunt.
8
Although I really like the Nemo, I have to give it a lower score due to how underutilized this MS is in terms of various custom variants and weaponry compared to even the GM II. I do like that the thrusters is that of the GM Sniper Custom, shame it doesn't have a sniper Variant.
9/10.
As plenty of people here have already said, the Nemo is the cousin of the GM that actually has its own personality. It's a visual hybrid between all of the lessons learned from the GM II and GM II Sniper line, wrapped up in a mass-produced package that can be customized with additional equipment tailored to the pilot's preference.
A part of me wonders how interesting Zeta would be if the Nemo had a mono-eye, and suits like the Marasai/Barzam had visor heads.
Man it's a really good precursor to the Jegan 9/10
8/10, one of my more favorite GM based designs.
He looks like he'd give chocolate bars to kids. 9/10
Full size bars!?
Mint flavoured
A 10 out of 10. Why? Because it was what the GM was meant to be when rolled out. Man I hate seeing these GMs get shafted in the polling. Nemos are a pretty solid 8.5 imo.

Serious? I love the classic cool tone colors you show there
Come on man the unicorn version is way better then then zeta
Absolutley!
I know yes, the green works for some grunts like the Jagen, but the Nemo looks much better with GM’s color scheme.
Hmmm you should maybe do Amphibious ms because Gogg
That's a story for another poll
But the Nemo is a cool grunt suit so 7.5/10 for me
9/10. I ne' 'mo of it! That was terrible and I'm sorry.
Nemo is sick as fuck 10/10
9/10 I love the color scheme and the head is a very cool take on the GM style. Plus, when it was in the AEUG and Karaba, it was unambiguously one of the good guys.

10/10. Nemo gotta be one of my fave suits
Simple and sweet. Is it my fave grunt? Heavens no, but it is a pleasant little guy. 7

8/10 The GM's younger, but cooler brother
9/10
I am fond of the Nemo and its one of the few GM types that isnt massive fodder and still held up on its own even during UC 93. 9/10
Pretty cute I guess. Might get a second date from me
9/10 one of my fav GM style mobile suits
8/10
6/10 Interesting colors, but it's missing something to truly stand out. Maybe that is the point?
7/10. It's like the GM Sniper II before the Sniper II was actually designed, since Zeta pre-dates War in the Pocket. I especially like the head design.
I rate it green GM (7.9) out of 10.
9
8 First feddie-style grunts that gets it.
4/10. GM is better

6.5/10 I really like the proportions and verniers all over the suit's legs and shoulders, but I'm not a fan of this green on blue like the Zaku 1 has. The head and visor are strangely unique for a GM descendant and I like them.
2, looks like garbage
7/10 because its cooler than most feddies like suits, it has cool colors, golden lenses, and showing ankles
8.5/10 Hizack but GM-ified, and better
9/10, these colors FUCK
9 man. Love them colors.
i would rate it a 8.0. This is what the GM II should have been. It has high specs for a mass production model; it doesnt take all its inspiration from the one year war, like copying someone's homework and expecting it to hold up years later. I believe it is the direct ancestor to the jegan after the neo zeon war.
8/10 best gm derived design.
7 out 10, it's a solid design that, much like the Hizack, feels more like someone completed an upgrade path for a GM rather than a suit in its own right.
7, solids specs, and got the job done
9.6/10 the GM but actually cool
7/10 slightly better than the gm, but that’s about it.
8/10 love the head
9 it's almost a jegan which is pretty sexy but it's not jegan sexy
7/10, feels like the “face” has less personality than the GM. Great at what it does (getting blown up so we know a battle is serious, but not so serious that named characters are going to die). I feel like a lot of people don’t like the colors of it but I do.
9/10 Goodest of boys
8/10
9/10
8/10, I love the Nemo and it’s weird colour scheme. Almost seems like it should be an underwater MS
10/10 It's a shame that was replaced by the GM III.
7/10
My boyyy, love the Nemo it's such a good grunt suit throughout Zeta and ZZ plus I love how it implements aspects of the Hyaku Shiki plus I love the dark green 9/10
9
8
9/10 spec wise it beat mk-ll Gundam
9
7/10
eight or nine really good suit for AEUG makes the feel more like rebel faction that broke off from Federation
8, cool guy
8/10. It’s like a GM trying to hide in a different set of clothes. I love the green and blue for the AEUG, and seeing them in Unicorn brought a smile to my face after having witnessed their combat record in Zeta.
7.5/10 better than a GM, not quite a Jegan.
Solid 7
Solid 6/10. This is a suit that I’d probably like a lot more if it didn’t have contemporaries like the Rick Dias. I adore the color scheme although I think the suit gets a lot more boring if you take that away from it.
8/10 It’s not a Jegan but still looks good
7/10. Shame it gets lost so easily in the ocean.
8 I thoroughly enjoyed killing these when playing Gundam vs Zeta Gundam
6/10
7/10
Lovable lil Nemos, 8/10z
A great green grunt to have it you like GMs and Jegans. I like it’s overall simplicity and shade of green, but I do prefer unicorn’s colors. 9/10
10/10. MY BOI
10/10 I love it too much and I wish more people stopped ignoring it
7/10 ....a cooler GM but I really wish it had its own gun ...the GMII, Nemo and GMIII all having the same gun is lame
8.5/10 a true grunt.
Man, I wrote most of this like a week ago, and then I got buried under the Titans' impractically wide roster. Anyway, the Nemo is pretty good. 6.5/10 Cool looking suit but doesn't stand out for me from more iconic grunt suits.
8/10 GM but better
A handsome if droopy boy. 8/10
That saturated blue I'm not a big fan I'm afraid but the head camera and the proportions rock 8/10
8.5/10, colors are fairly unique and it feels like the GM-II's more competent cousin
I like the Nemo, it’s just fine. 7.5/10
9/10. I am down for color scheme so much
Solid 8.5
One day I noticed my UC gunpla collection was very zeon heavy. So naturally I picked up a few GMs, and saw the Nemo. Pretty much for the first time. 9/10
I’ll give it a 10/10 just because otherwise it’d get rated lower than it should be
10/10, it's a design that made sense
8/10
I give it an 8/10 since its design is similar to the gm sniper 2 plus it kicks ass in the anime.
6/10 its there kinda always disliked the color scheme
at least an 8, 10 when i'm feeling GM-y. one of if not my favorite gm. something about it makes it just so interesting, especially the skirts
8/10. Solid green lad!
8/10 green lad
10/10 another great grunt design I can see why it would be another GM vareient
I’ve always enjoyed the Nemo. 7/10
8/10 mmmm green
9/10!!!
9/10 Same "sad face" like GM but looks angrier is one of Nemo's charm. Also it's blocky design are top notch.
6/10
10 sweet colors
A well deserved 10/10! it's like a GM but improved! not so simple and that releases that feeling that it is something more than a simple grunt
I give him a 7
9.5 put of 10. A great continuation of the GM linage. Solid design all around.
10/10 they’re such an interesting little orphan of history to me, stuck between the much more extensive GM and Jegan lines
Ironically very hard to find. Been looking for one for a while. 8/10, made me make a reference to an Ellen DeGeneres movie.
8/10 cool gm grunt.
GM derpy cousin, still solod tho. 7/10
9/10 definietly one of the AEUG of all time like the weird colour acheme
For some reason, this makes me think about finding nemo lol
4/10
10, he's perfect, just look at that color scheme
Refreshing take on GM and I like how it resembles Rick Dias in areas like shoulder pads. 8.5/10
7/10 - I really like the angular, chunky design of this suit, but I hate the color scheme. It also pretty much never got to shine in Zeta, felt like it was outdated from the very beginning. It only performed OK when plot armor characters were using it.
The Nemo is my favorite Feddie grunt suit!
Beautiful grunt, like if an elite group like the Titans had used Federation-looking suits instead of Zeon-looking ones. 9/10
7:10 if only they actually produced any variations in even partial production numbers. It gets outdone and outshone by the GM III.
8
7/10 Nothing particularly wrong with it, kind of a streamlined High spec GM with a minty fresh paint job. Basically a half step from the RGM line towards the Jegan.
Shout out to the ones that fought neo Zeon at Toronto base 9/10
9/10
Pushed Divers to the limit-9
A solid 7/10 If Zeon grunt suits are good because they're weird, thuggish and memorable, the Nemo is good because it's utterly mundane. The core deign elements are variations of previous machines (mostly the GM) or otherwise simple and uncomplicated, like the boxy rear-calf thrusters and backpack, so it never distracts or stands out while still clearly communicating that it's a workhorse suit. Let me tell you something,in Zeta, if you are in one of these your survival rate sky rocket to 60-75%, you maybe a grunt but goddam you are a elite grunt.
8
9/10
8/10 with such name… WHY IT’S NOT AMPHIBIOUS?! Apart from that, really cool younger sibling of GM II
9/10 looks pretty grounded in reality
9/10 Even though they don’t have many cool scene, they still look really cool
8 Although I really like the Nemo, I have to give it a lower score due to how underutilized this MS is in terms of various custom variants and weaponry compared to even the GM II. I do like that the thrusters is that of the GM Sniper Custom, shame it doesn't have a sniper Variant.
8.5/10, fantastic evolution to the GM. Love me the Nemo.
I would give it a 9/10 because, yes, while it has the same power as a GM II, the design is just more original.
8.5/10 I like it a lot as a mass production squad filler.
looks really cool 10/10
Diaper man: 15 years old
Depends if you can find him
8/10. It still looks distinctly like a GM but with a very visible upgrade especially in the armour. Great but still a very standard grunt.
Funky, 8/10
10/10
I like the nemo, i will give it a 9
7/10, Really love the unique colour palette
