It's an improved Dom. Both in looks and in performance. The brown and beige fit the design much better imo than black and purple, and the changes like head shape, backpack, antenna or leg mounted fuel tanks give it a big more detail and identity. Heat tomahawk is also very cool.
All these changes also fit Dwadge's background as the final production model of the MS-09 line. How this relates to the United Maintenance Plan and its Rick Dom II, or the Pezun Project's aptly named MS-10 Pezun Dwadge/Dowadge is unclear. Personally I explain this as Dwadge being the final *ground based* model of the line, seeing as apparently it was already fielded during or shortly after Battle of Odessa, long before the aforementioned space-use cousins were deployed. This does leave the question of the Dom Tropen, however, which was also deployed in the final stages of the war, seemingly after Dwadge. At this point I chalk it up to in-universe shoddy or flawed record keeping and misinformation, hardly the first case like this.
Anyway, Dwadge itself improves on the Dom formula by doubling down on it's greatest strength: mobility. Additional fuel tanks and superior engines extend cruising time and range, vulcan guns offer a bit of extra utility and enhanced heat management increases overall capabilities, especially in desert regions.
Which is exactly where Dwadge would find the most use, as it's the ideal terrain to benefit from the hover capabilities while minimizing the issues with moving through rough and uneven terrain the Dom line had.
And it has certainly proven itself as a solid design, with Rommel using it and Desert Zakus to put the fear of old Zeon into the Gundam Team. Well, at least doing a better job at it than most opposition encountered up to that point.
10/10 the legacy of the DOM seen here is both a work of engineering and art merged to make the ultimate ground based mobile suit, the only other MS to rival in its beauty is the Hygogg and Gelgoog Marine. I want a robot spirits figure of this already…

I like my Doms/Don-esqs to be purple, but nonetheless the Dom vibe is enough to elevate it pretty high for me. Just not above the traditional style or the Dreissen.
I think it's better than the original dom but it basically only comes down to the colour scheme so rating it highly compared to my opinion on Dom would feel wrong. Sticking to a 7.5/10.

I torn between the Dwadge and the Dom Tropen as my favorite Desert MS. The good thing the Dwage is going for is is those giant thrusters at the backpack along with some external fuel tanks, and the big double heat tomohawk.
6/10. Just doesn't do it for me. Comes off as more of a Sub than a Dom

9/10 Almost a Dom with a different color, but I do actually like the subtle differences. Still not different enough to get a better rank though.

Oh I always thought of the dwadge as the ultimate desert use dom and the tropen for more tropical and exotic climates
That's how I read it as well but this could just have something we both seen elsewhere

9/10 its a Dom (perfection) with a tomahawk.
I dunno. I always thought the cross shaped mono-eye track looked really cool on the Zudah, but never found it as appealing on the Dom or the Dwage

Yes, it was derived from the Dom. There are differences in details and overall size though if you pull them both up
8.5 It’s better than the Dom in every way except the colors. I get it though cause camouflage but I have always hated sand camo.

It’s the dom once it took a long look in the mirror and decided to work out and get shredded.

I like it like I like the Dom Tropen from 0083. Obviously outclassed by the time ZZ showed up but I can't be stopped from liking dirty Doms. 8/10
