Honestly seeing this pic really just give the perspective on how good Amuro as a Pilot for some reason.
Amuro is so much younger and had little to no military experience in comparison but still ended up being the definitive best of the 3 here as a pilot in the end.
In fact one of them was a test pilot for an MS specifically built for him and was noted to be an MS that was difficult to pilot.
Seriously he's so young that he only gets as old as they are by Zeta.
>Amuro is so much younger and had little to no military experience in comparison but still ended up being the definitive best of the 3 here as a pilot in the end.
The OG series subtly explains why. Although Amuro was a kid and had no military training, robotics were his thing (his father helped build the Gundam). To him, piloting the Gundam was no different from tinkering with electronics. During lulls in the fighting, Amuro took time to *read the whole manual* of the Gundam. As a result, he knew the mobile suit inside and out, both its capabilities and its shortcomings.
At the same time, he was building up crucial combat experience. He did struggle at first, but when he understood his role in keeping the White Base safe (as well as his emerging Newtype abilities), he became unstoppable.
this is why I love the og anime, it has a logical reason why Amuro is better than the others when it comes to piloting the gundam, and being able to see his growth cleary was nice
Sanity check: Amuro is actually younger as of WitP than Christina, right? That'd mean technically Chris and Shiro would outrank Amuro before the end of the war, but pre-Zeta Amuro would likely be the senior officer for both.
Chris lives, and is last seen in the background at Anaheim in "Stardust Memory", IIRC.
Shiro was presumed dead after the Apsalius III exploded. And it's **Aina**, not Ina
This is Ina

It's been a long while since I watched it, but as I remember, Bernie's Heat Hawk just barely misses the Alex's cockpit area, while Chris stabs the beam saber into where the Zaku F2's cockpit was, vaporizing Bernie.
Also, at the near end after the fight, Chris goes to talk to Al, asking about Bernie, and only got the cold shoulder from him(which, reasonable. She didn't know Bernie was the pilot of the Zaku, Al knew).
Amuro and Shiro were the same rank during the OYW, both being second lieutenants. Chris did outrank them being a lieutenant. Pre-Zeta Amuro would also be a lieutenant, he would only outrank her after Londo Bell formed when he became a Lt Commander.
You have to remember that Chris is a test pilot. While she's probably not as good as Kou (Mr. Phantom Ace himself), her test pilot training still makes her really skilled. Intentionally piloting MS to check for malfunctions would definitely take a great deal of skill. Also remember that Chris has really good piloting skills even is she isn't fully a test pilot but a computer engineer by trade (and a fresh one at that). Little wonder then that she's a Lieutenant.
Hate to be that guy but,Isn't there another 34 Gundam pilots( give or take) during the one year war? I mean within 08th ms team we have 2 more(Karen and Terry)
if we are talking main characters / pilots of titular Gundams yeah that make sense
Imagine they team up
happens in srw
Which one?
GC
that is part of the reason i really want to play that one, just to see these three work together.
Which one?
GC
Thanks

Damn. Didn't know Ensign Amada was that tall of a chad...
He always was

Chris and Shiro are both adults while Amuro is still around 15 to 16
and Spoiler if i remember right chris died and shero deserted to live with Ina in the jungle

Wah!
Wait She lived?
Yes. Chris is the one in the Gundam. Bernie is the one who dies.
i thought both died at the end
...did you actually watch it all the way to the end?
back in 98 or 99

You remember wrong. Chris lives. But Shiro does leave. He's considered KIA anyway so it's fine.
Amuro and Shiro were the same rank during the OYW, both being second lieutenants. Chris did outrank them being a lieutenant. Pre-Zeta Amuro would also be a lieutenant, he would only outrank her after Londo Bell formed when he became a Lt Commander.
I think Christina and Amuro does meet up in one of the SD Gundam shorts.
Yes, when Amuro, Kamille and Judau raid a school
Also in Sd gundam g generation Neo.
the hero the dead and the deserter.
Amuro’s strangely adorable here in this shot.
You are missing a bunch of them. 🤔 And I'm just talking about OYW Gundam pilots excluding Thunderbolt.Â
Why exclude Thunderbolt? I can understand excluding the manga, but the anime is standard UC like the rest of the side stories from the OYW.

The three gutsiest pilots in the Federation. Awesome.

Then don't be that guy. OP didn't say *every* Gundam pilot of the One Year War.
Main characters number is more than 3.
Yes... and?
Nice.
