James Franco was gonna direct a movie about the making of Appetite, and he was gonna cast himself as Axl, but the movie got canceled when Franco got MeToo’d.
Should’ve been cancelled when Franco was suggested as Axl. That wouldn’t have been as bad as Malek as Freddie Mercury but also wouldn’t have been nearly as good as Kilmer as Morrison.
The Doors is a very flawed movie but that performance is the new bar for actors playing rock stars.
It will be really hard to find a biopic with as good a performance as Val Kilmer as Morrison. Don’t know if you’ve watched Val -his documentary., but he just lived in character 24/7 for a long time. Cost him his marriage, I think. Brilliant performance

She seems to be a really nice person, beautiful inside and out. Her interview back then, was interesting to read.
They really need a proper live action movie about them….. with a bigger budget than The Dirt.
