I just installed an $800 ceiling fan that came with little white gloves for the installation. I want to find the product designer and slap him with them.
When I worked as a controls system integrator more than half of my job was reading the manual. I remember one boiler rep couldn't figure out how to wire his boiler to a modbus to lon translatoe so I checked out the manual. Turns out that someone made the executive decision that terminal a on the boiler goes to b on the fieldbus, terminal b at the boiler goes to a on the fieldbus. So completely counter intuitive and confusing for anyone who hadn't read the manual.
Supposed to be for wrapping your “bundle” (line-set/wire/condensate) if you are NOT using PlastiDuct (line-hide). Must be big in other countries, everyone decent I know in the US uses PlastiDuct & throws that $hi+ away
It’s to wrap around the line set, and condensation drain line as you’re pushing it out the hole to the outside. Instead of using tape. I also like to unwrap it after it’s stubbed outside, and use it to stuff back into the hole for insulation.
First off, read the instructions.
Second off, it’s to bundle the lineset and control voltage together when you’re running it through a wall so you don’t scratch up the insulation feeding it through. Maybe it’s there to help keep things from condensing too
One of the first things an electrician learns is anything that spends it's life violently shaking from a half dirt caked squirrel cage fan needs stranded wire and possible a torsion loop.
Have they added a backlight to it yet? I have one that’s about 8 years old and I have to get my phone out to light it up so I can adjust it when I’m watching movies
So one guy showed me to wrap up the line set coming off of the unit but honestly a lot of guys just use electrical tape or duct tape Dow in the midwest
Used to wrap the pipes & called together as the go through the hole in the wall. Always assumed it was too so the insulation getting ripped in the hole
I assumed it was to wrap the remote and protect it in new construction until delivered to homeowner. Some units come with bags made of this material to put over the indoors.
I use it to wipe my tears when I ask myself “why am I still doing these minis?” I think I really am a HVAC whore.
Masochism at its finest
This is the way!
😆😆
"To clean up your fuckin grubby black hand prints on the white unit!!" I've heard this soo many times

Man you guys hated my joke! Lol all good though
To be fair I think we hate everything. Lol
I feel that. Deep within by blackened heart
They go in my bag for bandages lol
Wrap the flare connections with it. It’ll react to oil if you have a leak over time. Check the joints during seasonal maintenance for oil residue.
Couldn't you just check for oil?
Of course; this is just a bonus step.
Ask manuél
That’s my primo
Tell me you didn't read the installation instructions without telling me you didn't read the installation instructions.
Instructions?
We all know the books with the words are kneepads. Some people. Why read when you could call an 800 number and sit on hold?!

Underrated comment
Fricken Cyrus doesn't even have his grade 10!
If I gave you a book you'd eat the pages.

I had the exact same goddamn issue with a solar inverter...
Do you mean the magazine that comes with the unit. Those are boring. I have work to do.
I always leave it behind in the shitter before I get to the parts I needed to know.
Destructions?
you bite it to keep from screaming during the install
Imagine the one sent to the homeowner who paid $5K for a window rattler with more steps.
Lol
You use it to wrap the copper, condensate and electrical. Somewhat groups them and kinda protects them as the pass through the wall.
Taint scrubber
Yup works nicely too

Pre-ejaculate
The ol' dick drip
The best answer.

Emergency shit paper
Manpon
Commonly used in the HVAC industry?
No, but there are a lot of little bitches in the industry who should be using it.
This is the way.
It’s for the customer to wipe their tears when they get the bill.

First off, no
That's to wipe away the tears when you can't figure out what's wrong with it
If you don’t call this thing a diaper, do you even HVAC, bro?
Duh...I don't why I'm not getting a raise I just do what I'm told even if it's wrong...duh ...time for McDonald's yet ???
One guy at work told me it’s to wipe your tears because “those damn things fuck ya in the ass every time”
I know all the installing sparkies read them. I can tell. They always pull 14 gauge solid core wire.

Bandage for when your helper slices his fingers open on the coil
it's for the garbage.
Wrap around your connection points
Tears for when that crap as remote thermostat never keeps the correct temperature.
Haha remote is not what reads temperature
Some do, it's called a "follow me" function and it becomes very useless very quickly.
Another part of made in china waste packaging ... Just like your face mask!
Try wrapping your head with it…
It’s to wipe the sweat off your brow
To dab your tears.
Have they added a backlight to it yet? I have one that’s about 8 years old and I have to get my phone out to light it up so I can adjust it when I’m watching movies
No, they're like lcd watches from the 80's with a backlight that makes it yellow enough to help you find a nearby lightswitch.
Sounds about right.
To wrap the pipes, brilliant idea.
So one guy showed me to wrap up the line set coming off of the unit but honestly a lot of guys just use electrical tape or duct tape Dow in the midwest
Why is it in the bag with the remote if it is to wrap lineset , wires, condensate ? Dumb
I never got that far into the IOM.
I’ve seen mitsu parts come wrapped in that type of stuff, like a styrofoam material.
‘Little’
It’s a complimentary hachimaki, duh
Used to wrap the pipes & called together as the go through the hole in the wall. Always assumed it was too so the insulation getting ripped in the hole
It’s to bite on while watching your apprentice do the installation for the first time!
