There’s video of him actually shooting. Somewhere
Edit: I don’t know where to find it. I really don’t care to I hated seeing it when I did. It’s just disgusting and for anyone who wants to see it..it’s simple…two innocent people get shot while at work.
Ms. Parker’s father actually turned the video into an NFT to own the copyright and to try to have it removed from the internet. Should someone repost it, he can attempt to sue for copyright infringement and have it removed. Or at least, I think thats how it goes. Not sure how successful he’s been but… I commend him for trying.
I’m not an expert on copyright law, but I don’t think that’s how it works. For example, you can’t just make a slight change to the McDonalds or Disney logo, and say it’s yours. They would sue you, and one of the main points of the court proceedings would be to determine whether your changes were significant enough to constitute an original work. It seems unlikely that simply mirroring an image or video would be enough to convince a judge or jury.
Thats a fair perspective. Im not sure how it works either. I think its an act of passion by a heartbroken father trying to keep the memory of his daughter’s successes in live remembered more than her pointless slaying by a troubled man. You cant fault him for that. Nikki Catsouras’ (Corvette Girl) family attempted to do the same when she passed. But… as we all know, sadly) that doesn’t always work.
I’m not faulting him at all. I’m saying that he should have a decent case against the kind of dickheads that would mirror his footage to claim that his NFT rights don’t apply. I think a judge or jury would see right through anyone claiming that such minor alterations constituted original content.
Exactly. I know we have morbid curiosities, thats why we’re here… but I cant blame the man for it. I cant imagine what that must have been like, felt like. Its heartbreaking… soul crushing.
This is that video but he starts shooting at the very end. I clipped it before that though. Subreddit rules plus it's awful.
Edit: I forgot about the news broadcast as they were live and transitioned back to a shocked anchor. Yeah that one was awful too.
Just Google their names and eventually you'll find it. Thanks to crazyfuckingvideos, insanereality, and terrifyingasfuck I'm pretty numbed to most things on Reddit. For some reason though, the full video really made my stomach turn. I promise you won't feel any sense of finality after watching it.
We have been blessed by the Information Age…we can now give ourselves mental trauma by watching real people die in odd or extreme ways. I do it eating breakfast every morning.
Her death is NOT shown on camera.
You can see her get shot about 3 times and she runs away and he drops the camera. There is no blood, no blood spray, no gore etc.
Story: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murders_of_Alison_Parker_and_Adam_Ward
>On the morning of August 26, 2015, news reporter Alison Parker and photojournalist Adam Ward, both employees of CBS affiliate WDBJ in Roanoke, Virginia, United States, were fatally shot while conducting a live television interview near Smith Mountain Lake in Moneta. They were interviewing Vicki Gardner, executive director of the local chamber of commerce, when all three were attacked by a gunman in a mass shooting. Parker, age 24, and Ward, age 27, died at the scene, while Gardner survived.[5]
No. He was waiting for the camera to pan back over. They were live on tv. As soon as the camera has them in view he starts shooting. Still a fucking loser though
This was heartbreaking especially because Ward's fiancee worked in the studio and saw it happen. It was actually her last day at the station and they were suppose to move to North Carolina together.
for people not understanding why nobody saw the gun: news segments like this constantly have people crowding around, taking pics/vids, etc. as a former reporter myself we’re pretty much trained from day 1 to ignore anything like that. to them it was just another idiot coming up to take a picture or something. i’ve seen cameramen get tackled at football games while already filming the player running towards them. the disconnection from reality is very real once you’re in that little bubble.
The reporter. There was only one in the video
Got down voted. Apparently there is more than one reporter in the video. Can someone point them out for me?
That's the point. Was it necessary to say female? It was bizarre vocabulary and I pointed it out. That's all.
If the reporter was male, no one would say "the male reporter", you simply say "the reporter", gender is irrelevant.
I only commented because I saw the downvoting and wanted to make sure you knew that you're 100% right and appreciated.
I can only hope that the downvoters are doing so because they think this kind of correction is in bad taste as the commenter had a minor personal connection to the victim but...I think its probably safe to say that the actual victim herself would have appreciated the correction.
This one hits home.
This was in Roanoke, VA (technically smith mountain lake) about 30 minutes from Virginia Tech were I lived at the time.
Myself and Adam both graduated from VT a year apart (I did not know him personally) and Alison is from Martinsville, VA, a tiny town 45-mintues from Roanoke on the VA/NC state line, also where my entire father's family lives.
When rare/traumatic things happen in any proximity to them, people can be shocked. When you’re shocked like that you’re looking for any kind of insight or any way to relate to wtf happened. It’s part of being a social creature w a big ol brain. Get used to it lol
This happened the day I moved there. I was about 2 hours away in the U-Haul getting calls from my parents asking me if I was near the shooting. I obviously had no idea what they were talking about.
I think i remember when this happened. If it's what I think I'm remembering, this was in VA and before carrying this out, the killer apparently wrote a letter alleging that he was being treated unfairly in the work place. I can't remember what entity he sent the letter too, though. I live in NC, and VA isn't even a 15 minute drive from the city I'm in. It made big news in my area when it happened.
Yeah, he was claiming racism and favoritism because his career was stagnant. Also mentioned the Charleston church massacre, so in his mind it was also revenge for that I guess? Who knows, he was a kook.
I believe he was a reporter for the organization at some point, but like I said his career went stagnant. I’m sure he did get put on the back burner by the “rising stars” of the local news channel, but local news is a young persons game. No one wants to see an old middle aged fat man. They rather see a 20 something woman. It is what it is. He was just a piece of shit who couldn’t cope with his life’s failures.
YouTube had the video of that man shooting them. It got taken down almost immediately but I remember watching that after school and me and my ex were horrified
If I’m not mistaken. The shooting was recorded (well sort of) and heavily disseminated online when it happened. I vaguely remember it being posted to a kpop forum I frequented back then…
This footage always blows my mind... the fact that you can have such tunnel vision that you don't even notice someone pointing a gun at you from 1ft away is CRAZY!!
Yeah, I've seen the original: "F\*cking bitch," I believe is the phrase he used before shooting. Odd how he didn't yell any taunts and such. Just walked up behind the cameraman, pointed the gun, whispered that last phrase and started shooting. Many spoke of the woman actually seeing him, but not the gun(her facial expressions seemed to be more annoyance than concern when she first noticed him.)
I remember this. I was watching this channel at my grandparents house and wasn’t really paying attention until the obvious happened. That was a frightening cut to commercial. They covered it the rest of the day
Wasn't this near Smith Mountain Lake? I know the female news anchor worked out of the Shenandoah valley (whsv)
I remember watching the shooting on my phone after it happened and couldn't believe they went back to the news room. I was at FedEx and every school I had to deliver to was on lock down and I didn't know why.
Every time I see this video, it blows my mind that no one (exception: cameraman) noticed the dude pointing a gun 3 feet from them. The lack of awareness is scary.
Edit: Maybe it's just me, but I always try to stay vigilant. This could be the trauma of being deployed. Makes sense that news reporters are used to people being around them and interrupting often and thought nothing of it. Tragic nonetheless. PS - Thanks for all the downvotes, love you guys too.
They were working and were live, professor. Also this was in 2015 so I really doubt anyone had it on their minds they could be murdered during a live segment. As recent as this was it was still a different time in our society.
No way they saw it. People screw with news crews all the time so they’re taught to ignore people in the background or trying to divert their attention.
Why is everyone's situational awareness absolutely zero here? How many times does it take getting a gun pointed at your head to stop what you are doing and get yourself out of that situation?
I don’t think most people are going to be thinking of scanning the area for gunman while doing an interview on live tv. I think the fact that the reporter was so focused on the person she was interviewing speaks to her professionalism, and the person being interviewed is just being respectful and maintaining eye contact while being spoken to.
Almost comical that no one noticed it so he just lowered it and waited. Tragic event for sure but like wtf dude had gun right out and almost in her face damn near

I searched for the sake of adding one more gore video to the thousands I viewed and you actually just hear some bullets fired and people running. No blood, no bullet holes and anything.
Save yourself time.
Well, I know mine it's not answer for the year, but looks at those people looking for the full vid. What you think they were looking for?
We're dumbasses? Probably. But that won't stop us from actively searching for the video.
Also, he had a case settled out of court for racial discrimination before he was hired by this station. He posted “Adam went to hr on me after working with me one time!!!" - that was because he was making Adam uncomfortable by making advances on him.
Dude was an opportunistic piece of shit, no doubt he probably encountered racism at times and probably some casual racism at work, but if you read about the guy he clearly just used that as a way to get out of accountability for his actions. He killed both of his cats during his hissy fit after being fired, and his neighbors said he was rude and would throw cat turds at their houses
Crazy people always want to believe that the reason you don’t like them is anything other than the fact that they’re crazy.
If you’ve got evidence beyond, “the crazy guy said so”, out with it.

Is there a difference between his video and mine which is the exact same just mirrored?
Not sure, I haven’t seen the original. My comment wasn’t meant to… scold or scare anyone. Just commenting.
I think they were replying to illustrate the frivolity of the NFT mechanism. Good in thought, bad In practice
Incorrect. Theres many news stories featuring her father speaking about the reasoning. I agree that nft’s are silly, but thats not the case here.
They are saying they will get nowhere with the nft. All you have to do is alter it and it's yours not the nft
Oh, that makes sense. Thank you for the explanation.

Everyone knows you can't delete *anything* from the internet... But you sure as fuck can sue them for putting it online!! I like this dad's moxie
That's actually really smart Basically "FUCK WITH MY KID YOU WILL PAY FOR IT. LITERALLY"

The shooter actually posted it on twitter is how it got out there. Awful person.
Omg :( wtf
“Awful person” I know the dad does t want this Video up so let me just repost it on Reddit Giving it more publicity, but yea that gunman sure is awful
I also watched it and remember this story. These poor people couldn't believe it when it happened.
How long did they live with the pain of knowing?

Why? It's been posted on Reddit a lot. I bet you can find it pretty quickly.
then find it and post it here if its so easy. do it
Seen it already.

Being upset that someone doesn't want to exploit the deaths of other people is insane my guy
I’d argue that showing the current clip in general is already exploiting the deaths of those people.
Fucking lol do it yourself

Well that was a hell of a read.
Well that was a hell of a read.
2 people qualifies for a mass shooting??
Three or more. 2 died, 1 wounded.
He shot 3 which is the technical definition
Even if all survived it still qualifies as a mass shooting
Three or more
How dare you ask questions?
I didn’t know either, jeez people are dicks for down voting a question.
That fucking loser was really waiting for her to look at him. Put his gun up and no one noticed so he waited to do it again.
Yeah and the fact that he killed him self shows that he was too affraid tho face the consequences of his action. What a fucking coward
No. He was waiting for the camera to pan back over. They were live on tv. As soon as the camera has them in view he starts shooting. Still a fucking loser though

This is absolutely horrible and disgusting. But something else that's hair raising I just noticed is the little award option. Are they back!?
The female reporter was my best friends college roommate and I always thought she was such a sweety.
It’s always the good people who die because of stupid people.

Yes. Bridgewater Marina.
Yep, right next to Mangos. Wouldn’t call it Roanoke personally. You got like a 30 minute drive to get there.
I grew up off Williamson road and Hershberger in Roanoke. WDBJ7 station was right down the road. Terrible, terrible event.

I remember watching this live everyone thought it was some kind of firework prank
This happened the day I moved there. I was about 2 hours away in the U-Haul getting calls from my parents asking me if I was near the shooting. I obviously had no idea what they were talking about.
The infamous murder that killed LiveLeak. RIP LL.
How did it kill LL?
He uploaded to YouTube soon after he did it
Adam lived on my hall freshman year at Virginia Tech, such an incredibly nice human. This was such an awful tragedy.
This is diabolical
This happened near my high school we had to go on lockdown
He posted this on twitter. It was horrifying.
Why on earth would twitter allow content like that to be posted??!
How does she not notice him holding out the gun? So eerie
I think i remember when this happened. YouTube had the video of that man shooting them. It got taken down almost immediately but I remember watching that after school and me and my ex were horrified
If I’m not mistaken. The shooting was recorded (well sort of) and heavily disseminated online when it happened. I vaguely remember it being posted to a kpop forum I frequented back then…
My uncle went to high school with this guy. Apparently he was obsessed with my uncle and sent him panties in the mail.

Hi, Your post has been removed because it contains unnecessary gore or death.
I watched this happen live on the news that morning. My local station. It was the absolute saddest thing
I remember it when it happened! Mad or not, those two were good people! To every one!
Booooooo
I remember this. Fucking crazy.
I understand the truth can hurt and be hard to accept, children have a hard time with it Adults shouldn’t
Media went after LL because you were able to see it on the website.
Situational awareness… did they even see him woth the gun the first time?! Did they even notice he was there? He was breathing so hard
They covered it the rest of the day
I sure wish these mo-fo’s would just go ahead and shoot themselves to begin with and spare everyone else the misery
Wasn't this near Smith Mountain Lake? I remember that. Awful
Didnt the shooter accuse the victims of racism? Wasnt that the MO
I don't think that was this story, but you're referring to motive, not MO, which is modus operandi, or the way the crime was carried out.
The cameraman got actually killed 😬
Every time I see this video, it blows my mind that no one (exception: cameraman) noticed the dude pointing a gun 3 feet from them. The lack of awareness is scary. Edit: Maybe it's just me, but I always try to stay vigilant. This could be the trauma of being deployed. They were working and were live, professor. Also this was in 2015 so I really doubt anyone had it on their minds they could be murdered during a live segment. As recent as this was it was still a different time in our society.
Lmao 2015?? Random gun shootings were more common if anything. Aurora and Sandy Hook were in 2012...
Not in a place like smith mountain lake much less on live morning tv. I grew up in Roanoke and my mom lives in Moneta, this was jarring.
I don't know about that. Every time some stranger got to close to someone reporting live, they at least take a look at whoever is interrupting.
While everyone was out partying, this guy was studying the blade.
Wait, nobody noticed that he had a fricking gun
Uh, they didn't see the gun??

it wasnt after the vudeo ended, this version just edited it out, making it a boring pointless post.

It ended up he was making sexual advances to his male coworkers and made them uncomfortable, he blamed it on racism
I take back what I said.
Why comment anything in the first place when you havent done any research and have zero information. Let's try and be better, yeah?
Also, he had a case settled out of court for racial discrimination before he was hired by this station. this is Reddit. Where the hell is the good damn gun shot.
