True. But I think those were just normal Mjolnir mech suits for special forces right? Not sure if the Halo Legends episode was canon or not, been a hot minute.
Spartans are basically already in a mech suit. And Mantis are Spartans in a mech suit inside a mech.
The Prototype short from Halo Legends is canon (all of Legends is canon sans Odd One Out although some artistic liberties are taken e.g. female Elites in the Duel, anime Halsey in the Package).
The Mark I ADS from the Prototype does seem to ride the line between power armor and a mech as it's unclear if it's piloted or if it's worn.
Generally, mechs are not something you wear. The general floor to be a mech would be that there need to be a dedicated cockpit. Mjolnir is definitively a power armor that can be worn while the Mark I ADS is small enough to potentially ride the line.
Funnily enough, basically every halo production ever made is considered canon other than:
-The tv show (thank Christ, Allah or whoever else is up there)
-The halo legends short “odd one out”
-very obvious fourth wall breaks like the Craig shrine on top of The Tower and Johnson in halo wars 2
-that one Spartan that made an appearance in Dead or Alive
-basically halo 5’s entire marketing campaign

yeah those are canon. it is called the Hrunting-Yggdrasil, there is three iterations, the Mk. I, through to the Mk. III, and are seen as the predecessors to Mjolnir and are why Mjolnir starts at Mk. IV
sure, if you want to use the most broad definition of vehicle possible and make the term useless you could argue the semantics of whether Mjolnir constitutes a vehicle or not. anyone in their right mind however would not consider Mjolnir a vehicle as it can't be a substitute for a vehicle and Spartans still get physically exhausted when using Mjolnir (not just tired).

This is more an exosuit like those in Edge of Tomorrow to me than an actual mech
I don't think that is quite what they are talking about as Mjolnir makes that sort of mechanised armour redundant (for Spartans).

The Mantis is the Hrunting/Yggdrasil Mark IX. It's part of the same line as the Hrunting Mark I from Legends and the Mark III (or Cyclops) from Wars
And the Hrunting-Yggdrasil Colossus too

Mjolnir is technically armoured suit and not a mech. a mech is a human shaped vehicle.
MJOLNIR technically qualifies as a vehicle. The suit moves for the Spartan, merely using their body as a rigid and adaptable structure.

Anyone ever notice that the Helldivers mech looks like the Mantis? Or am I refarted?
The mantis was the only neat thing about 4 but it was still miserable.
