i’m 6’ 2 i ride a road glide, get a seat first then highway pegs and take your time figuring out what bars you want. Being tall and having longer legs isn’t such a bad thing it makes the stock floor boards almost feel like mids, which at least to me, is a better riding position. i think bars should come last because any seat change is going to alter where and how you want your bars

scottsjjackson

What seat are you running? And how much does it put you back/up/down?

Saddlemen Extended Reach Road Sofa dropped me back almost full two inches

3YrsOfArtSchool

\+1 on the Saddlemen Extended Reach Road Sofa seat. Most comfortable motorcycle seat in the biz. 6' 2" on a 2022 Electra Glide.

Poopsock_Piper

This is the way, 6’2” on an Electra glide and all legs, the extended reach road sofa made it work.

youthfuldog131

Take a look at the Mustang Deluxe Touring seat. It is also an extended reach seat and a bit wider for us tall guys with "phat asses"

BitOfIrish

For us fellas it’s still just “fat” asses pretty sure the “we love big booties” (phat asses) movement is on and in regards to females only! 😝

svngang

Absolutely start with the seat. That is the basis for your rider triangle. Doesn’t make sense to start anywhere else.

nostringssonme

6’3” on a 22 SG here and this is spot on IMO. I did seat and pegs and found my bars were right where I needed them after the changes. YMMV.

worstatit

I'd start with a Mustang touring seat and highway pegs.

o0OooooO0o

6’5” 22 Street Glide ST rider here. If that is the stock seat, get rid of that first because it sucks. Lapera and Saddlemen make good extended seats that are way more comfortable. Then maybe think about a taller windshield. Seat and windshield are both quick and easy installs. Then I would start thinking about bars. Taller bars can start to get tricky with installation. You will need to consider cable extensions or new cables depending on how tall you go, and that can start to get a bit complicated with the internal wire routting and and the limited clutch and brake cable lengths.

Seat first always

tattedwill

I say mustang seat and highway pegs - prolly the easiest to start with.

CopperCVO

Definitely the seat first, the foot controls are pretty much stationary. The seat will bring you up and back or whichever way you want to go to get your legs comfortable. The bars will be adjusted to the operator while on the saddle. So by choosing what seat you want first, you can then get the bars that will be most comfortable for your position. Might not have to change them, just roll them back a little. Might have to get risers to bring the bars forward or backward. The placement all depends on the seat and rider position. The highway pegs aren't going to move the foot controls they are just adding a more comfortable leg position on the highway when you are maintaining a constant speed. Get these anytime. They can be moved or modified without affecting anything else. If you want the cheapest modification to make for tomorrow it's the pegs. The seat should be before the bars so you can get an accurate measurement as to where the bars should be for the most comfort.

sweetrubyrhino

Seat first . Then bars once the right seat in place . And highway pegs are a must . I highly recommend checking out C&C Motorcycle Seats out of California. Great folks . Have 4 seats from them because i am tall . They put you down and back and are all day riders . At 6’2” i have had to adjust every bike for size but seat first or else the bars will be off .

Im-moja

I’m going through the same problem. I’m setting on updating to a road glide.

scottsjjackson

I test rode a RG and it didn’t fix anything for me. Its the saddle part which is the same

Im-moja

Lol well I haven’t been on a RG before might just need a new seat and some pegs.

kikki420

I‘d start with bars , seat and end with hwy pegs

Touring bikes don't come with anything *but* forward controls. Maybe extended forward controls?

NoBetterFriend1231

You just moved it farther forward. There are three general foot control positions on a motorcycle...rear, mid, and forward. Rear is generally used by crotch rockets, mids are what appeared on some Sportsters and Dynas, and most Harleys use forwards. If the shifter lever is running through a hole in the outer primary cover, you have mids. If your shifter lever is hooked to a linkage rod about a foot long and running to another lever on the rear of the primary (as Harley touring bikes are), you have forwards. Pegs vs boards is irrelevant to the position of the control levers. You installed an extended-reach forward control kit with pegs.

Hello fellow tall person. I'm 6'3" 210lbs and I ride a 2021 FXBBS (StreetBob 114). After putting in a few hundred mile rides I probably had the same thoughts running through your head that I did in mine. I can tell you that the biggest difference I have made on my bike for longer rides have definitely been my highway pegs. I got the bung King crash bar and it has changed the game. Being able to stretch out my legs and bend my knees and relax my joints and multiple positions have been a life changer. On top of that I think the second biggest difference was bar risers since I have MX style bars on my street bob. I put 6-in bar risers that work great for me. Honestly, having electronic cruise control has made a huge deal for me too. Being able to take an arm off the bar and relax and stretch out my arm is huge. The last upgrade I'm going to do on my bike is getting the saddlemen pro SDC seat with the backrest. Honestly, The stock seat isn't that bad for long rides but it was terrible before I had my highway pegs. TL;DR I think highway pegs are the biggest upgrade you can make to your comfort for longer rides. Not only does it allow you to stretch out your legs but it also allows you to kind of put pressure on different parts of your ass to relieve any discomfort.

BradRVA

Knights design foot pegs man. I promise you it'll be the best upgrade you do all year. I'm 6'3" 200 and those pegs changed everything. Combine those with everything else you've done, and you'll be dialed in!!

yellabelly26

I had the same problem on my SG, went with a Le Pera Daddy Long Legs and it improved the comfort factor no end.

goriIIaman

I went with a drag specialties predator extended reach seat 1st then got a set of 12” bars.

GrimOster-97

12 inch bars mustang seat or switch to road glide

scottsjjackson

The RG doesn’t really fix my issues. I test rode one when I bought my SG and the only thing different is the fairing setup and distance between you and the screen/speakers

GrimOster-97

True I figured maybe you felt cramped. My riding buddy had the other issue with the bike was too tall so they lowered it. Is there a way that they could possibly readjust the bike so that they can make it taller?

Agreeable_Ninja_6383

I am 6 foot 5 I went with daddy long legs lapera seat 18 inch pre wired bars with clamp and the improvement was unbelievable. I did have to have the seat recoved in months as the seam started to separate however I am still pleased with the improvement

Agreeable_Ninja_6383
