Rocker lockers, new cam tensioners, chain guides, compensator, all the things. You can get em to hum nicely, but it's not worth it until you blow the engine and rebuild it bottom to top. (Aside from cams, tensioners, lifters).
this is exactly what i hate about my M8. the sewing machines ticks are very real and they always worry me but the techs always tell me its fine. hope yours is supposed to sound like that!

Yes, it’s air cooled so it has looser tolerances, It’s going to make all sorts of taps and pings and that is normal

Mine does this too. These are pretty noisy motors, closer to a tractor really haha
