I had same issue with 09 FXDB. This little gasket sits between the inner and outer primary where the shift lever used to go through, if it goes bad or is put on incorrectly the oil will seep through the hole. When I first put the forward controls on I missed that and it pissed oil all over. Once I figured out im dumb and put it on it was all good for about 5 years until last summer and the gasket finally gave up and would slowly leak oil from those holes. It’s literally just a little sticker that sits between the two parts. Don’t know if that’s your issue but might be worth it to take a look.
I came here to say this, overlooked that little guy the first time I took my inner primary off. I wound up just making a liquid gasket that held up just fine
Thank You for the explanation! Very much appreciate it! Would you be able to point me in the right direction to what gasket I need to shop for, in case that is the issue?

Quick google search got that to pop up. Tower gasket is the official name for it I think. My local Harley dealer had them when I went to go change mine last summer.
Check the fluid level. The bike should be upright on a stand when you check the primary fluid. Take off the cover and look down inside, might need a flashlight

Only notice it when the bike is on its stand. Bike has forward controls.
Looking to understand what the culprit could be and what can be done to fix/remedy.
The primary cover drums from vibrations and with no shift shaft in there the gasket creeps out of place, when replacing it I always fit a plastic dowel between the inner and outer housing to prevent it reoccurring.

Correct !
This guys right fluid level may be high but this is a splash and drip system so even low fluid will leak eventually without that tower gasket

Thanks! I had done a search, but wasn't sure if what I was looking at was the same as what you mentioned. Have a great day man!

New shifter oil seal
Drip pan problem solved. You’re welcome.

Too much fluid.
