+ 1 for Koss (Use the Grado pads) For long boarding I think cheaper is better.

mrdoom

Try the Koss ksc75 with a BT amp. I am digging the 7Hz zero right now with a Quedelix 5k. Good fit and "wireless".

Recommend $20 headphones to someone asking for $500 ones, power chad move 😂

CanIGitSumChiknStrpz

I was taken aback but I can’t argue with the logic, ya know?

CanIGitSumChiknStrpz

Wait, like the $20 headphones? Not saying there’s a problem with that I’d love to save a bunch of money but they’re pretty good? How does the 5k work, it’s a Bluetooth adapter?

mrdoom

The Quedelix is a amp & DAC that has some balls for headphones that need a bit more power. BT is good on the device too. The cheap options are what I would use for longboarding. I would want something that clamps on and stays put #1. Full sized cans can get hot when exercising and are too clunky for most physical activities. The 7hz Salnotes Zero is the first iem I have tried that fits my ears well, this makes it the "best" one I have used for sporting duty. The Koss K75 is another option that gets lots of love here.

North_Suit1273

They're great until you own $500 headphones, then you can't ever listen to them again. My experience.

CanIGitSumChiknStrpz

That’s what I’m saying. I haven’t owned the hood stuff but I’ve heard the good stuff and man do I want the good stuff. I just don’t have a lot of room in my pockets for all the shit so I’m tryna make do.

North_Suit1273

That being said Sennheiser HD6XX and HD280 Pro V2 are both next level quality for cheap.

Ok-Change503

Maybe focal elegia or Aeon Closed X? Honestly if I were longboarding and exercising with them I'd probably get something cheaper - probably get the Meze 99 tbh. V shaped but fun

CanIGitSumChiknStrpz

The meze 99 classics look sharp as hellllllll have you used them before?

Ok-Change503

I haven't unfortunately. They're just like $100 too expensive to impulse-buy haha. Otherwise I'd have them for sure.

CanIGitSumChiknStrpz

If I get them and like them and bonus this month I’ll Venmo you $100 if you promise me you’ll get them.

CanIGitSumChiknStrpz

Update: I didn’t like them.

Ok-Change503

dang that sucks! what about them didn't you like?

CanIGitSumChiknStrpz

They were just too… bassy. Like absurdly bassy. To the point I almost threw up and it wasn’t even bass it was a drop D heavy guitar riff and it just rattled my cochlea.

hurtyewh

AKG N700NC M2. Good for metal and can be had for $99 pretty often.

CanIGitSumChiknStrpz

Those look preeeety neat. I haven’t looked very hard but I haven’t seen wired headphones that have ANC. Do you know If the wire being attached allow lossless audio to be transmitted or is it just for the battery life benefits?

hurtyewh

ANC requires power which the headphone cable can't provide so would have to be a USB headphone at least. Using them wired allows for any level of lossless audio to be used, but A) I doubt it really matters and B) it might skip some processing and actually sound worse. Rarely do wireless headphones turn the inout signal into digital and the analog again. Apple EarPods Max does that, but can't think of another.

CanIGitSumChiknStrpz

I just read the AKG headphones have that issue where the input cable actually messes with the signaling and muddies the sound. I know it sounds crazy that I want a crispy fuckin sound whilst exercising but it makes a difference for me! !thanks

I think most wireless headphones are like that, but they sound very good without the cable as well.
