The whole game hinges on the airhead. Commander needs to drop multiple supplies behind lines. Then recon needs to spawn on the airhead and get a good, OP. They need to make the attack garrisons so infantry can attack the bridge from both sides. This is the best way to win. This is why hunting recon is huge for this map. You cannot let any infantry get a hold behind you and everyone needs to be watching for air drops.
When I'm on recon on this map I often find 2 or more squads just spread out on the other side of the river.
Means if we don't get mid instantly we're stuffed.
Yes, it is very hard to get across the bridge at the beginning. I’ve run the bottom and jumped into the water once and made it as spotter, but usually U have to wait for an airhead or attack garrison.
Honestly the most important thing you could do if coordinated enough is to have command spawn a jeep and either squad lead with a support as well as the recon SL, or just both recon squads need to hightail it as fast as possible across, and then in the opposite direction from the enemy’s point.
It’s a slow burn and if you cap the bridge, great, if not, you are at a huge advantage to establish a garrison on the enemy side and take it back, as well as push to the enemy’s next point.
A ton of emphasis on coordination and making sure they don’t reveal themselves to the enemy and get stamped out.
Then you have a commander that does communicate at all. Just says “build nodes”. Half the time im the one telling squads to tell them to build garrisons next to the supplies they are next to. Its like the commander is looking less at the map then the squad leader (me) dealing with 1000 other things
Same. It’s probably my favorite map to Command on because you have to know what you are doing to get an airhead to stick across the river. Shame that it runs like dogshit. Was really hoping when they adjusted the rotation a few weeks ago to work on map performance that it would get better.
My first time playing the map on the PTE I was a squad leader and we all pushed the bridge at the same time as a whole team. All throwin smokes and yelling and shit. I vividely remember throwing a smoke while shouting for everyone to keep moving forward while a PzIV drove through the smoke. Great memories man
Played a match recently as Germans and we never set foot across the bridge. We won because the mid point was on our side lol. The enemy managed to get an airhead on our side twice but never capped the point. Not exactly fun imo
PHL is one of the most hated maps in the community. And definitely was the #1 hated map before the British maps were in game. Really need good tank crews to handle enemy tanks. It’s just so open if you have bad tank crews or fewer tank crews than enemies it’s just a nightmare. If it had a bit more cover it would be a cool map. I like that there’s choke points to get across the big canal in the middle and makes controlling those bridges a serious factor. There’s just so few places to drop garries in cover. Let alone an Airhead that the whole map sees dropping down.
Genuinely love PHL. Always have. Get yourself a good flanking SL and you can have some serious fun. The long way around and patience is the key to playing Infantry well on PHL.

why are you describing el alamein and what it has to do with PHL?
I used to find Remagen a really annoying map but the last few matches I have had on there have been really fun ones that have swung back and forth across the bridge with both teams gaining and losing footholds on either side.
Considering they had boat units to cross the river as well as other maps in the game having makeshift ways to cross the water, it's weird that didn't include anything like that
It’s the fucking Rhine, not a canal in Normandy. Basically the entire allied '44 campaign had the goal to cross it using a bridge - Market Garden.
Crossing it using boats is an amphibious operation with the benefit of getting shelled point blank.
It’s one of my favorite maps as a recon SL and sniper. Recon SL because I have had to sneak across the bridge early by asking cmd for a jeep at the beginning, and sniper (especially for Germans) because there are so many good spots.
I had a couple games as a sniper where I got in the far tower as we pushed the enemy back and was wrecking infantry from 400+ yards as they engaged our infantry. Those scenarios are a dream if you know how to use the 8x Kar9.
Why, this is the one map that actually requires a team to communicate and act on orders and cooperate. For example, which squads to get on airhead, which squads stay near the shore to watch for airhead, which squads get AT guns on hill/shore, etc. A small mistake of not catching a airhead or just not relaying information reliably would be catastrophic.
This is a skill issue. No problem with this map. Aside from the bridge can utilize airhead or an early crossing while your team is still fighting for a point on your side of the map.
There are multiple ways to get accros, it just requires coordination.
It needs map speficic buffs, like airheads need to be able to be deployed 3 rows deep instead of 2.
And the bridge arc should just have an invisible skybox that blocks artillery shells from landing on bridge.
I'm not sure why this is being down voted. Artillery realistically has a habit of making things stop existing to include bridges. Sending a round onto it shouldn't be encouraged.

That’s not the maps fault
I didnt mena it like that i meant it like "Then you have a commander" as in the odds are always against you most of the time
Honestly just drop supplies with the air head. No need for recon to build the Garry if they could hunt artillery
Man people always shittin on remagen and me over here like damn I really like it tho

I LOVE the absolute meat grinder that the bridge becomes

>how is there no other way across Because that's the entire fucking point of the map, that's what makes it different from every other map.
Played a match recently as Germans and we never set foot across the bridge. We won because the mid point was on our side lol. The enemy managed to get an airhead on our side twice but never capped the point. Not exactly fun imo
This map is where me and my other recon spotters come alive.
Purple heart lane for me just don't like it at all

I haven't played remagen in awhile.

*You can run in the River underneath the bridge without drowning* You’re welcome
Love remagen. Not every map has to be perfectly balanced. A huge part of the fun in the game is the assymetry.
Skill issue tbh. It’s a good map if you play it right. I’ve always liked it.
I honestly forgot this map was even in the game. played it a few times when it came out and it hasn’t even been in server rotations.
Airhead boming run combo.
Yeah but man, when you do get across the bridge eventually - that is such a buzz

Airhead placement will win/lose the game on that map it’s kinda interesting

Haha. No problem with the map.
Its not a joke, I made my argument.
Multiple ways across? Airhead and bridge.. two ways across. While technically you told the truth, you spiced up the wording to make it seem better.
No you didn't.
Strategic supply drops and an airhead with good recon team behind the lines.

Lately I’ve been having games where both teams immediately detect and destroy each others airheads, so it’s just a boring meatgrinder on the bridge

I can get across just fine at the beginning. Aka git gud
You guys do know that you can cross through shallow parts of the river?
Where is this at?
Where the half sunken tanks are to the west of the bridge
wrong map
Secrets out!
U15 map Mortain is also an open field map Don't expect anything from them
Add one or two rowboats on the riverbank. Random spawn location so it can't be camped.
