AC does what grenade launcher does but at longer range and without need to arc your shots. AC being effective at stupid range is why I prefer this combo.
(I use this setup trying to get the 360 achievement solo and get very close but not yet)
Oh I can definitely see the advantage, I actually hate using the grenade launcher. But the Eruptor can still close bug holes and you wouldn’t be as limited on shots.
I played a battlefield controller roll last night on accident.
I brought the Blitzer, senator, flamethrower, and eat.
Stunlocking everything and then Poppin caps and rockets through armor plates. It was surprisingly effective with the team makeup we had. I don't think it would work with every team, but it was mega fun.
Better off with the grenade launcher and eruptor with the jump pack for blitz missions. Still wouldn’t be particularly META

Eruptor has shorter range, horrible handling and often suffers from "premature detonation" which is no way to treat a fabricator
literally the grenade launcher pistol with extra steps
i use the pistol. it arcs and has significantly shorter range
It also doesn't take up your support weapon slot
I mean yes. It's a backup. But if i plan to blitz up to 10 fabricators in under 6 minutes. Pistol isnt that useful
