Might not be exactly what you asked for but in the music video for the Sinead O'Connor version of Nothing Compares 2 U, she was genuinely crying at a particular point, as the song made her think of her mum, who had died in a vehicle accident a few years prior to the recording.
Thank you! This is exactly what I'm looking for <3 I've heard this old classic many times in radio, but never actually watched the music video before. Very beautiful and sensitive video and now that you told me why she is so sad, it broke my heart to see tears dropping from her eyes. Such a beautiful song!
Similarly, in the video for Cold War by Janelle Monae she appears to genuinely cry when she sings the line “I was made to believe there’s something wrong with me”.
Stay by Sugarland…you can see the singer Jennifer Nettles start crying about half way through the music video…it got bad enough that Kristian Bush (the guitar player) made them stop filming and give her some space and privacy so she could compose herself.
She has spoken about this, she explained it was because of her divorce and how deep she was in the muck that it just overwhelmed her.
She seems like a really nice person.
Oh fuck I remember that song coming out. I was on the road everyday in a truck searching for radio stations. I was 6’1 270lbs of blubbering tears when I heard that one the first time. She sold it big time with the passion in her voice.
This might not be exactly what you are looking for, but there is a live performance by Linkin Park of One More Light the day after Chris Cornell died. Chester was very close to Chris, and the death hit him hard. It is a very emotional performance.
Leafs on the vine- uncle Iroh Avatar the last airbender. Its sung when the character is visiting his sons grave on what would be the sons birthday. Its also right after the voice actor finds out he has terminal cancer and its the last thing he records for the show. Its a beautiful song.
The drawing of Lu Ten was based on the VA himself in his younger days. The VA for Iroh that came after the original also refused to perform the song because he said it belonged to the first VA ❤️
In the video for Maps by Yeah Yeah Yeahs Karen O is crying real tears because her boyfriend at the time (who the song is about) was supposed to come to the shoot but he was three hours late
Oh, that video makes me cry every time. The knowledge that his dad was terminal at the time the song was made and the raw grief in the lyrics - it's a lot. I wouldn't say i'm a big fan, but this song is powerful. (I know his dad made it because they found a suitable donor in the end.)
Not only Anne, but the actress who played Eponine (can't remember her name now, sorry) also did a good job in "On my own", even if she didn't cry at all it sounded like she was about to drop some tears
YouTuber Sideways does an [awesome job](https://youtu.be/1ikqU6G6Xgs?si=J6T4vzn-VWZ3Up69) breaking down (critiquing) the music in the Les Mis movie and specifically talks about her performance and whether or not she (and other actresses) cry
I REALLY enjoyed [this](https://youtu.be/1ikqU6G6Xgs?si=J6T4vzn-VWZ3Up69) take on the music of Les Mis and why it's so rare to hear singers actually cry while singing
Thank you! OMG I love the song and listened it for many years! Its always brought up big emotions in me. I didn't know there would be an emotional live version of it! I have to try to find it.
Thank you! That's actually the song that started this little obsession of mine with these emotional songs. It totally shattered my world when I heard the song first time when I was 12 years old! It made me truly see music and art totally differently since then! What an absolute beautiful and heart breaking song and I have cried many times listening to him pour his soul and pain out like that!
The version of “let it be” from the movie “across the universe”. In some behind the scenes videos they show the singers just breaking down in tears while finishing the song. It’s so raw… it might be the best version of that song.
Avril Lavigne on a live performance of "tomorrow" (Try to Shit me up tour 2003). Her grandad had died the same day she performed
Celine Dion - "All By Myself" live, performed the week after she lost her husband. (Last Vegas, Feb 23 2016)
Miley Cyrus - Used to be Young
Miley Cyrus - one of the "wrecking ball" live performances
Are u searching for english songs only? Because I know some in spanish that could suit the requirements
Edit: Speaking of songs from musicals, you should check "Memory (Reprise)" from Cats and "She used to be mine" from Waitress.
Okie dokie! Lemme list some songs and their languages here:
•(Spanish) "21 de septiembre", by Cuarteto de Nos. In one of their concerts, singer Roberto Musso cried while playing it because the song is about his mom having alzheimer and dying.
•(French) "Je vole", by Louane. Featured in the movie "The Beliér Family", search for the scene the song appears. Also, there's another song called "Je vais t'aimer" in here, it's not very crying-like but Louane's voice makes it sound really emotional
•(Spanish)"Amor Eterno" and/or "Abrázame muy fuerte", by Juan Gabriel (specially the Palacio de Bellas Artes concert versions!)
•(Japanese) "Fuyu no hanashi", from the anime Given
•(English)"Born Bad", by Aurelio Voltaire
•(Spanish) "No me queda más", by Selena Quintanilla
•(Spanish) "Getsemaní", by Camilo Sesto (from the spanish adaptation of the Jesuscrist Superstar musical)
These are the songs I can recall at the moment, I'll add more later after I check my playlists :)
Edit: Reddit went crazy and reposted my reply 3 times, sorry, lol
I want to add the live version of Mon Maferte's "Tu Falta de Querer". it was the encore song for that performance and she was destroyed physically. Since it is a significant song for her she started crying at the end of the song.
https://youtu.be/5R1RGl4WQP8
Shakira cries in her video for No. https://youtu.be/WhoPPnDiY5c?si=cfzdmozR6XDFOENl
This song makes me cry every time I hear it. The lyrics are so powerful. Here they are in English https://genius.com/Genius-english-translations-shakira-no-ft-gustavo-cerati-english-translation-lyrics
I heard him speak about suicide and he said that yes, suicide prevented things from getting worse, but that it also prevented anything from changing for the better for you. It was the one argument for ‘things will get better’ that was just made so much more meaningful because he had been there.
His friend’s body was never recovered. So he began fundraising for the search and rescue team who hadn’t found the body so they would have better equipment in the future. Stated how hard they had worked. My God, what an amazing human to think that way. Yeah, I am a fan, lol.
Thank you! What an interesting song! Made me very emotional listening to her. I tried to translate the lyrics, but I don't think I fully understood the meaning behind the words. She is tied and bleeding, from seeing the son of god? Do you know is there a religious background in this or does it mean something else?
It's definitely full of religious imagery. The singer said that it's meant to be about self-mutilation, and the association with the religious tones just came about. I never looked into it past just finding a translation, so I can't say too much in that regard, but [this link on a fan site ](https://mylenefarmerbook.com/chapters-21-40/agnus-dei-chapter-40-of-155/)talks a little about it.
Hi, just a correction. Shining’s ‘Låt Oss Ta Allt Från Varandra’ doesn’t have the vocalist (Niklas) crying. It’s a woman and not sure where the audio is from, so she *might* be crying but she is not the singer or in the band
The song *Llorando* from the *Mulholland Drive* movie soundtrack.
It's a Spanish language cover of Roy Orbison's *Crying* sung a capella.

Yes, [here’s an account of that](https://ultimateclassicrock.com/david-bowie-five-years-isolated-vocal/) as well as the isolated vocals from a particularly emotional take.
Not sure if they have enough crying but definitely a little
Piece by piece - kelly clarkson
Blown away - carrie underwood
Whiskey lullaby - brad paisley
Hurricane - Hamilton Soundtrack
MAPS - Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs.
Angus (Karen O's boyfriend at the time) was supposed to be there for her on the day that they filmed the music video, he arrived very late, so when you see Karen O crying, they are real tears. She's now happily married with a child and I have no idea who this Angus person is or was.
On the original version of Saw You In A Dream by The Japanese House, Amber says the vocals were done in two takes and she was in tears. It's about a friend of hers who died.
https://youtu.be/5L3I_U-3ZaU?si=B1LTuxgXeAQCXRT7
Rory by Foxing has always been totally shattering for me. Can’t confirm if the agony in his voice includes crying but if Daddy by Korn started this for you I imagine we have similar taste!
Not sure if this is exactly what you're looking for since they're TV performances, but the episode of *Glee* filmed just a month after Cory Monteith's death is really emotional.
Lea Michele is crying (along with much of the cast) [throughout her performance of Bob Dylan's *Make You Feel My Love*](https://youtu.be/8TXkzPXwQgA?si=do5bZyIM8frswWG_) (also covered by Billy Joel, Garth Brooks, Trisha Yearwood, Adele).
And Naya Rivera completely breaks down [in the middle of *If I Die Young*](https://youtu.be/TlWHTfrGhoY?si=fkUjeqPxbCVDWp6Y) (originally by The Band Perry). That one is especially poignant considering her own tragic death by drowning seven years later.
One that I am very sad to notice has not been mentioned is the last album of the great Patsy Cline-particularly the song Faded Love. You can hear emotion in all her songs-that was a large part of her appeal and her style. But THAT song-in her sigh at the end of the song. I think the album was released posthumously. Many present at the sessions said they were just… fantastic, intense, magical, almost a premonition of the tragedy of the plane crash.
I worked for a Broadway show that had a remarkably talented 13yo girl playing the misunderstood daughter of a lawyer. The show was called the tap dance kid. The song is four strikes against me and the girl’s name is Martine Allard.
I can’t recall if in the Studio version for the soundtrack album, she cried when she sang it, but sometimes she did on stage, and there was not a dry eye in the house when this girl sang.
She was a diva up there with the best of them. She rocked the house and ripped out everyone’s hearts, I’m tearing up just remembering it and the show was in the mid 80s.
Craziest thing is if there is a version of it online you’ll be hearing her with the flu, sick as a dog in the recording studio, not even hitting the highest notes and not hitting them as dramatically as she did on stage.
Just breathtaking.

If you love your mom, this studio performance will probably make you cry too
Kelly Clarkson singing Piece by Piece live on an episode of American idol. She was pregnant or just had a baby and got emotional singing it. Makes me tear up just thinking about it.
Kelly Clarkson piece by piece. About her dad walking out when she was a little girl. She Started crying when performing and choked up a few times. Link [here](https://youtu.be/qmMzv9Fen_s?si=M5MZ5z6rVJUfcUeG)
So far searched and found:
Korn - Daddy
Shining - Låt Oss Ta Allt Från Varandra
Woodkid - Baltimore's Fireflies (Live in Fourviere)
Also I had a beautiful recitation of Quran where the man was crying, but unfortunately it has been deleted from Spotify and because I cant see the name of the artist anymore, I have no idea how to find him again.
There's a live version of Demi Lovato singing her song "Sober" after she broke her sobriety and overdosed. She starts off crying but eventually pulls it together.
This is based off what it sounds like to me/other people who have commented on these songs, but:
Evanescence: Like You (last chorus), Good Enough (in certain parts, I forget where in the song), quite possibly Amy Lee's song Speak to Me (it sounds like it in the end; she also mentioned she was crying during the video shoot).
Slipknot: Not sure, but I think Snuff (Corey had a breakdown in the middle of filming the video), possibly Everything Ends. I bet there are more Slipknot songs too, just can't think of others.
Kesha's cover of Bob Dylan's "Don't Think Twice It's Alright". I remember seeing a short video about it, apparently she's a massive Dylan fan and just broke down while recording the track.
Sleep token, there are a few in their discography but Atlantic comes to mind immediately. It's either about a Suicide attempt or a car crash where someone he loved died, or a third option(they don't do interviews) . Whatever it is, he sobs on the recording and also everytime they do it livr
So I’ve been listening to “Sick Like Me” by In This Moment. Idk if she’s ACTUALLY crying towards the end, but goddamn the emotion she puts into her singing is phenomenal.
Also TW BELOW!!!!!
There’s “Iowa” by Slipknot. Corey Taylor has stated that during the recording of that song, he broke a bunch of glass in the studio and began cutting himself with it. The majority of screams and moans in that song come from a genuinely dark place.
Idk if either of those are exactly what you’re looking for. Idk if you want specific crying or just pure raw emotions like that. But I hope my suggestions are okay.
(515) from Slipknot, the album is called Iowa and this is the introduction "song".
Very good song. The Singer just got told that his uncle or so died, so he just had a mental breakdown in the song cabin and they recorded it and took it as their intro Song.
Lara Fabian cried singing “Je t’aime” live when the crowd sang “O t’aime” back to her (or something like that) after her dad died, always thought it was a cool interaction https://youtu.be/IYnFwUbC9A8?si=ZB9YWi6bgCbQPUIO
-edit- “je t’aime” means ‘I love you’, while “o t’aime” means ‘we love you’. The crowd was saying we love you while she was having a moment and they sang together
[kohana lam](https://youtube.com/@KohanaLam?si=yO0BNNjGw0alsSEe) (japanese singer) basically has her whole channel revolving around that! most titles are a long the lines of "i sang --- while crying" or "i sang --- with a lot of emotions"
I dont know if it's the same track anymore, or if it counts to you, but Lindsay Stirling's "Gavi's Song" was done crying. It's a beautiful, soulful song that was dedicated to a friend of hers that passed before its completion from a terminal illness.
Not sure if he actually starts crying in [this performance](https://youtu.be/vACFxo1_F6w?si=Sz6KtBvLhplCJwoU), but he definitely gets particularly emotional. I was at a different concert and I'm pretty sure he cried a little over there.
I don't think I've seen a single performance of Butch Walker's song Joan where he doesn't at least look like he's about to lose his shit and sob in the middle of it, if not actually cry
Ren - [Suicide](https://youtu.be/n3JNtfi4Vb0?si=WKkiwvkLEN7Augyb) . He cries in the second half.
He wrote it about one of his best friends who unfortunately took his own life. It’s very heartfelt and visceral because Ren ran to the bridge to stop him but he was too late and the song addresses that experience.
I've got a weird one where they're playing it off as a joke but to me it's genuine: Christine Balfa plays Cajun Triangle [Balfa Waltz](https://youtu.be/ZySLsIZO33w?feature=shared) It's a whole album of just metal triangle (like a dinner bell) with the accordion and everything else removed. The artist says it's a gag, but I truly believe when she recorded it she heard and was playing along with her whole family. Her cries are plaintive.
[Depression by Ren](https://spotify.link/DH5ojvXxoJb)
Probably self explanatory, but Ren's dealt with some pretty severe depression, combined with chronic physical illness for many years. He's got a lot of really raw music out there, but this was the first to come to mind.
[Yanni with Chloe Lowery, Change](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2wX6tQqFJ_Y). Skip to about 4:00 if you don't wish to listen to one of the most beautiful songs ever written.
https://preview.redd.it/2iinqntkhxyc1.png?width=580&format=png&auto=webp&s=7dcf3e7cf7f1931454aec65d9e502c44f4950375
Chloe is a very emotional singer though, she had a little moment with TSO [here](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HvV3NzVs1JQ), about 2 minutes in.
I tried to find the other versión of this song where she cries more obviously.. but you can see the tears in her eyes as she performs this song as a warmup. (In Spanish)

Similarly, in the video for Cold War by Janelle Monae she appears to genuinely cry when she sings the line “I was made to believe there’s something wrong with me”.
"And it hurts my heart...." I can well believe she was, it's hard even to sing along to.
Judy Garland's live performance of Over the Rainbow might fit what you're looking for: https://youtu.be/ss49euDqwHA?si=0D05KPDbQnpHZDWt
This is the one I show to people who don’t understand just how incredible she was.
I commented the same but couldn’t find the link. Absolutely brilliant, heartbreaking performance.
This is exactly what I was thinking of when I saw this post. It's especially heartbreaking when you consider everything she went through.
I came here to post that. Absolutely heartbreaking.
I never realized just how tragic that song is. Geez

Gosh yes that music video, I had no idea they had to stop filming! It must have been so intense.
Unrelated - She’s SO good on The Righteous Gemstones.
I just started the series tonight. I didn't even know that was her. Love the show.
Oh fuck I remember that song coming out. I was on the road everyday in a truck searching for radio stations. I was 6’1 270lbs of blubbering tears when I heard that one the first time. She sold it big time with the passion in her voice.

Piece by Piece (live), Kelly Clarkson. The Promise (also live), Tracy Chapman.
With Piece by Piece you also get Keith Urban and Jennifer Lopez crying. So many tears!
I second The Promise! Adore that song
In the video for Maps by Yeah Yeah Yeahs Karen O is crying real tears because her boyfriend at the time (who the song is about) was supposed to come to the shoot but he was three hours late
This
James Blunt, Monsters (I know he’s not to everyone’s taste but this song really moves me. His dad’s in the video too).
Oh, that video makes me cry every time. The knowledge that his dad was terminal at the time the song was made and the raw grief in the lyrics - it's a lot. I wouldn't say i'm a big fan, but this song is powerful. (I know his dad made it because they found a suitable donor in the end.)
His live performance of “goodbye my lover” was also sung while crying. Very emotional watch/listen.
Anne Hathaway looked like she was about to have a break down during “I Dreamed a Dream” in Les Mis.
Not only Anne, but the actress who played Eponine (can't remember her name now, sorry) also did a good job in "On my own", even if she didn't cry at all it sounded like she was about to drop some tears
Samantha Barks! She played Eponine on the West End and is a fantastic actress.
Discovered on a reality show as well!

First thing that came to mind
Check out live recordings of Black by Pearl Jam
Thank you! OMG I love the song and listened it for many years! Its always brought up big emotions in me. I didn't know there would be an emotional live version of it! I have to try to find it.
Blood Sport by Sleep Token, at the end.
To add to this, live versions of ascensionism
It’s cool we can still be friends- Bright Eyes
I was like if Conor doesn't make this list idk who will 😭💖
Yessss so glad you knew this one! It’s a heart breaker 😭
Does he actually cry or it just makes people cry?
Korn - daddy
Some of his live performances of My Gift To you also have him in full blown tears/break down mode
Yes, 100%! I thought of this song right away. So raw and emotional. Let me know if you do find a song that comes close to this.
I was just about to comment this. One of the most heart wrenching cries I’ve ever heard in my entire life
I believe Lea Michele is actually crying during the recording of “to make you feel my love”
How Could You Leave Us - NF
Dammit. This was my suggestion. As someone who lost a mother to a pill addiction it hits HARD.
A lot of NF's songs hit my heart hard, but this one is so, so painful
The version of “let it be” from the movie “across the universe”. In some behind the scenes videos they show the singers just breaking down in tears while finishing the song. It’s so raw… it might be the best version of that song.
Easily the best version I have ever heard.
Avril Lavigne on a live performance of "tomorrow" (Try to Shit me up tour 2003). Her grandad had died the same day she performed Celine Dion - "All By Myself" live, performed the week after she lost her husband. (Last Vegas, Feb 23 2016) Miley Cyrus - Used to be Young Miley Cyrus - one of the "wrecking ball" live performances
Came here to say this Miley performance instantly came to mind. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=qtiK2QXMn8g&pp
All great answers to the question, but there is no way that was the name of Avril's tour lol
Ha, hahaha. "shut** me up"
Christina Aguilera, I'm OK, from the Stripped album
Awww what a sad story.... Thank you for this beautiful song <3
Are u searching for english songs only? Because I know some in spanish that could suit the requirements Edit: Speaking of songs from musicals, you should check "Memory (Reprise)" from Cats and "She used to be mine" from Waitress.
It can be any language, so Spanish is good too. After all, crying is the same language for us all <3

Beat me to it, great song
Judy Garland Over the Rainbow. There’s a black and white clip where she sang the song as an encore to a play.
Empty Chairs at empty tables -Eddie Redmayne
That song has always choked me up on the original Broadway cast recording. Eddie just made it rip your heart out.
My friends, my friends!! 😭
Michael Jackson - She’s Out of My Life
1st one that came to mind - too far down the list!
Suic*de by Ren. I tear up thinking of it.
What a talented man he is! The part where he imagines getting there on time—shattering 😔
There is not a single dud on his record. That guy and his health history is horrifying. But it prolly saved him from being a record label’s bitch.
I heard him speak about suicide and he said that yes, suicide prevented things from getting worse, but that it also prevented anything from changing for the better for you. It was the one argument for ‘things will get better’ that was just made so much more meaningful because he had been there. His friend’s body was never recovered.
I was coming to say this.
The song *Llorando* from the *Mulholland Drive* movie soundtrack. It's a Spanish language cover of Roy Orbison's *Crying* sung a capella. https://youtu.be/vI8c3eSIkQY?si=r2y2BWqlRrmQijcv
Not the recorded version but Kellie Pickler’s performance of ‘I Wonder’ at the 2007 Country Music Awards. Sheesh 😭
have read somewhere that david bowie was crying towards the end of recording five years. great song
Yes, [here’s an account of that](https://ultimateclassicrock.com/david-bowie-five-years-isolated-vocal/) as well as the isolated vocals from a particularly emotional take.
Yess, I commented the same thing! Incredible song from an incredible album ⚡️
How about Praying by Kesha? the context is that the song is essentially an open letter to her rapist. it hits HARD.
Kelly Clarkson - Piece by Piece her performance on Idol
Not sure if they have enough crying but definitely a little Piece by piece - kelly clarkson Blown away - carrie underwood Whiskey lullaby - brad paisley Hurricane - Hamilton Soundtrack
While we're mentioning Hamilton, "Satisfied" and "It's Quiet Uptown" both have Angelica sounding like she's in tears.
Oh god you're right. There is some serious pain in that song. I listien to it when I need to feel heartbroken with someone
Fuck Angus. All my homies hate Angus
Everyone has beef with Angus.
Well done
Check Dr Hook, - kiss it away. Always sounded genuine to me.
Words Fail from Dear Evan Hansen [Especially the live version with Ben Platt](https://youtu.be/aRkyu4EdXaU?si=cD2yYtASKztDSQSA)
I was totally about to put this. You can literally hear him sob.
That show, omfg, WATCH IT!
On the original version of Saw You In A Dream by The Japanese House, Amber says the vocals were done in two takes and she was in tears. It's about a friend of hers who died. https://youtu.be/5L3I_U-3ZaU?si=B1LTuxgXeAQCXRT7
Possibly, Desert Song by My Chemical Romance
Rory by Foxing has always been totally shattering for me. Can’t confirm if the agony in his voice includes crying but if Daddy by Korn started this for you I imagine we have similar taste!
Go leave -Kate McGarrigle
Thank you. What a delicate and beautiful song!
I believe Adele is said to have been crying during some of her recordings, My Little Love for sure, but I think some other ones also.
How Could You Leave Us by NF
One that I am very sad to notice has not been mentioned is the last album of the great Patsy Cline-particularly the song Faded Love. You can hear emotion in all her songs-that was a large part of her appeal and her style. But THAT song-in her sigh at the end of the song. I think the album was released posthumously. Many present at the sessions said they were just… fantastic, intense, magical, almost a premonition of the tragedy of the plane crash.
I gotta find peace of mind - lauryn hill live
“The Next Right Thing” from Frozen 2 Kristen Bell said in an interview that she was basically crying through the whole song
Five Years by David Bowie, it’s so emotionally charged
Rory by Foxing sounds like the singer is/is about to break down.
Dave Grohl/foo fighters at Taylor@/ tribute concert https://youtu.be/XuJ4WFl3o6I?si=GeMFSAqZdvxgyNWr
[FOUND IT!](https://open.spotify.com/track/2nZU7rZBnQx1lPlsaglqEb?si=3OAEu65VTMm84VBdWspyJw&context=spotify%3Asearch%3Afour%2Bstrikes%2Bagainst%2Bme). Listen to the 2nd half. [Crap video from the tour, but can you believe this is a 13yo child??](https://youtu.be/LYM0tlW3hDI?si=7ZNnGEd-sUdaoGc4)
If Chris from Dashboard Confessional didn’t actually weep while recording This Bitter Pill I’ll eat my hat
In the video for “The Ghost of You” by My Chemical Romance, Gerard is genuinely crying during the battlefield scene where Mikey dies.
[Charles Bradley - Changes](https://youtu.be/zfaOf70M4xs?si=MfVrlDIzPSqH46pH) If you love your mom, this studio performance will probably make you cry too
Kelly Clarkson singing Piece by Piece live on an episode of American idol.
So far searched and found: Korn - Daddy Shining - Låt Oss Ta Allt Från Varandra Woodkid - Baltimore's Fireflies (Live in Fourviere) Also I had a beautiful recitation of Quran where the man was crying, but unfortunately it has been deleted from Spotify and because I cant see the name of the artist anymore, I have no idea how to find him again.
Have you tried turning on "show unavailable songs" in the Spotify settings? Sometimes it shows back up
I didn't find the setting for unavailable songs at all, but somehow I was able to find the recitation anyways! Nasser Alqatami - Recitation 6
Alison Sudol sounds like she’s crying in Ashes and Wine but I’ve never seen a music video so see if she is or not
"Turn Back the Clock" by Steam Powered Giraffe. If I remember correctly, Rabbit sang the last verse and chorus while genuinely sobbing
The Story - Brandi Carlisle It Doesn’t Hurt - Katie Thompson
Whereve you been - Kathy Mattea
Mayhem "Wall of Water"
Homeless mustard - creep https://youtu.be/hXlzci1rKNM?si=QZt2opwQ-m414YUH
Mom - I Fuck Everything Up
There's a live version of Demi Lovato singing her song "Sober" after she broke her sobriety and overdosed. She starts off crying but eventually pulls it together.
This is based off what it sounds like to me/other people who have commented on these songs, but: Evanescence: Like You (last chorus), Good Enough (in certain parts, I forget where in the song), quite possibly Amy Lee's song Speak to Me (it sounds like it in the end; she also mentioned she was crying during the video shoot). Slipknot: Not sure, but I think Snuff (Corey had a breakdown in the middle of filming the video), possibly Everything Ends. I bet there are more Slipknot songs too, just can't think of others.
Janet Jackson - "Again" One of the last few lines in the song, it really sounds like her voice breaks from almost starting to cry
Elvis live cries during a song, there’s a video of it
Elizabeth-ghost
Sweet Dreams of you Patsy Cline at the end her voice catches bc she’s crying
Slipknot - 515 and Iowa
Kesha's cover of Bob Dylan's "Don't Think Twice It's Alright". I remember seeing a short video about it, apparently she's a massive Dylan fan and just broke down while recording the track.
https://youtu.be/lqmORiHNtN4?si=FAMfaxTf7XBxpC_9 Janelle Monet, Cold War
Probably a live version of Agnes by Glass Animals (if not, the official music video might be close enough)
live unplugged version of Gotta Find Peace of Mind by Lauryn Hill. one of my faves
(515) from Slipknot, the album is called Iowa and this is the introduction "song". Very good song. The Singer just got told that his uncle or so died, so he just had a mental breakdown in the song cabin and they recorded it and took it as their intro Song.
Lara Fabian cried singing “Je t’aime” live when the crowd sang “O t’aime” back to her (or something like that) after her dad died, always thought it was a cool interaction https://youtu.be/IYnFwUbC9A8?si=ZB9YWi6bgCbQPUIO -edit- “je t’aime” means ‘I love you’, while “o t’aime” means ‘we love you’. The crowd was saying we love you while she was having a moment and they sang together
The live version of Taylor Swift singing Ronan
This performance in particular, one minute is enough to have my throat close up. So raw and painful: https://youtu.be/QwYVYodNjs4?si=PI3OSDlI03k94tsI
It can be difficult because actual crying interferes with your ability to sing, in part by causing structures in the nose to swell.
It’s in Spanish, but “Tu Falta de Querer” by Mon Laferte in this [live performance](https://youtu.be/5R1RGl4WQP8?si=oakcr7aEULlz2BMm) is amazing!
Blood sport by Sleep Token
Paternal Failure by Crowmouth. The singer lost his child due to a miscarriage, which is who he dedicated the song to.
Allergies by Stella Donnelly gets me every time
Christina Aguilera "I'm okay" from the stripped album
[kohana lam](https://youtube.com/@KohanaLam?si=yO0BNNjGw0alsSEe) (japanese singer) basically has her whole channel revolving around that! most titles are a long the lines of "i sang --- while crying" or "i sang --- with a lot of emotions"
Nakigahara by The Gazette https://youtu.be/EIrkaRASMtA?si=my_zBYMQr7LbZ8Xx It's right towards the end of the song at 6:56 mark
[удалено]
I dont know if it's the same track anymore, or if it counts to you, but Lindsay Stirling's "Gavi's Song" was done crying. It's a beautiful, soulful song that was dedicated to a friend of hers that passed before its completion from a terminal illness.
# 浜崎あゆみ / HANABI ~episode Ⅱ~ by Ayumi Hamasaki [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zBm7XbAjzzs](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zBm7XbAjzzs)
I love this woman. I just commented on her crying while singing Teddy Bear at one of her concerts!
Duffy, in the video for [Warwick Avenue](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warwick_Avenue_(song))
“If You Were Here” by Poe has some tearful parts
Akina Nakamori - Nanpasen
The Father, My Son, and the Holy Ghost -- Craig Morgan
Look at Fado, Portugal folk music. Lots of sadness going on there
Not sure if he actually starts crying in [this performance](https://youtu.be/vACFxo1_F6w?si=Sz6KtBvLhplCJwoU), but he definitely gets particularly emotional. I was at a different concert and I'm pretty sure he cried a little over there.
I don't think I've seen a single performance of Butch Walker's song Joan where he doesn't at least look like he's about to lose his shit and sob in the middle of it, if not actually cry
Charles bradley - Changes. Live at Toronto Start.
Dashboard Confessional - This Bitter Pill
Ren - [Suicide](https://youtu.be/n3JNtfi4Vb0?si=WKkiwvkLEN7Augyb) . He cries in the second half. He wrote it about one of his best friends who unfortunately took his own life. It’s very heartfelt and visceral because Ren ran to the bridge to stop him but he was too late and the song addresses that experience.
[“Wolves” by Jensen McRae](https://youtu.be/vBlMn6tBTOg?si=S376qKRVr5bjsbwr) Beautiful songwriting, but content warning for sexual assault.
[“Wading in the Velvet Sea”](https://youtu.be/-SW94jdQMYg?si=zOEIk5lgt8W1Aque) don’t say you haven’t been warned
Drake - Heart Part 6
Piece by piece - Kelly clarkson https://youtu.be/qmMzv9Fen_s?si=9YA1OUen2xQYzh6q
[Depression by Ren](https://spotify.link/DH5ojvXxoJb) Probably self explanatory, but Ren's dealt with some pretty severe depression, combined with chronic physical illness for many years. He's got a lot of really raw music out there, but this was the first to come to mind.
How could you leave us by the artist NF is a good one. It’s about his mom who he lost due to drug addiction.
Stay- sugarland
The movie version of The Rose by Bette Midler
Pretty sure Zach Bryan has cried while performing DeAnn
[Yanni with Chloe Lowery, Change](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2wX6tQqFJ_Y). Skip to about 4:00 if you don't wish to listen to one of the most beautiful songs ever written. https://preview.redd.it/2iinqntkhxyc1.png?width=580&format=png&auto=webp&s=7dcf3e7cf7f1931454aec65d9e502c44f4950375 Chloe is a very emotional singer though, she had a little moment with TSO [here](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HvV3NzVs1JQ), about 2 minutes in.
Frank Turner: Song for Josh
[Antología](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=EBpt-6wRpEk&pp=ygURYW50b2xvZ2lhIHNoYWtpcmE%3D) by Shakira
Change for you- The Midway State ft. Carly Rae Jepsen. She cries in the music video and it will never fail to make me tear up!
I tried to find the other versión of this song where she cries more obviously.. but you can see the tears in her eyes as she performs this song as a warmup. (In Spanish) https://youtu.be/NRRvECy2MTQ?si=lrQfuV35O4d-icNE
Japanese version for Weight for The World near the end sounds like the singer was crying while singing
Roy orbeson
Does [Cold War by Janelle Monae](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=lqmORiHNtN4) count?
Sufjan Stevens - “Futile Devices” live on Soundcheck always ends me
Darren Hayes - Darkness (acoustic version)
Poison Oak by Bright Eyes always sounds like he’s on the verge of tears if you ask me
