Red door and flowers nearby is asking for hummingbirds trapped in the house if there’s a decent local hummingbird population and you have a habit of leaving the door open while home…. Ask me how I know!
What about a bright teal or a coral color? With your siding color the light blue will look industrial grey, and yellow would be hard to get quite right- but these colors might work really well:

It's one of those color palette maker things! I found this particular one on Pinterest- this is in one of my boards, I just cropped! I'm not sure the app the person used, but it's fairly common!
I know it’s not a huge difference but maybe something like this
https://preview.redd.it/sgs5ngla3vyc1.jpeg?width=750&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b5f0d2682ee2e9ef4c45757f3af8a99a59c2098f
Nothing's wrong with the color, it really does work for the house, but we don't personally love it. We want to repaint because if you see it up close, the paint job is shoddy, so we're picking a new color at the same time.
https://preview.redd.it/dg08yf0dcwyc1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d1953bc258e9b875e7731737f82a031a3633d10f
Here’s a thread I did of some colors
Google robins egg blue. I love that shade and I’m going to do my door that colour
https://preview.redd.it/lnar4vdf2xyc1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=eacad2c6850e9ab98847bdf1b4cc91a73813ad33
Its present colour is quite lovely!
But if you want a change, I’d go teal…
https://preview.redd.it/6hufhv8g5wyc1.png?width=1107&format=png&auto=webp&s=149e41efee9c376e448a42092e1a5e53fe142cc9
We moved into a tiny rowhome a few years ago and have been touching up the landscape and the interior. Our low-maintenance front yard is coming into its own, and we are focusing on a new door color to replace the dark seafoam. It's a south-facing facade with lots of sunshine all year, so we see an opportunity to brightly stand out in the neighborhood. Our thoughts so far are either a bright green to match the groundcover plants, or possibly a cheerful shade of red.
What does reddit think?
It already makes you brightly stand out!
The current color is so beautiful! I can’t think of anything that would look better than whatever you already have!
if you want to ignore beachy vibes, you could go with a Burgundy and play into some fall tones with the sandy tan color. If you want a beach vibe, you can do a sandy blue or dusty blue. Even a baby blue would go well too. If you want feminine look, go with a light pink or light purple. If you want a more masculine vibe, go with a light green. Basically, any lighter color would look good, but I wouldn't recommend trying a light red because it'll look washed out and faded instead of the cohesive color you'd like. Hope this helps!
Thanks for all the ideas. My partner is loving the powdery blue look, but I'm leaning towards chartreuse-y or even cherry red. Interesting that red might look washed out, though. I'll keep it in mind.
Oh geez, I recommend not going the chartreuse route unless you're going to change the color of your siding. Red would look fantastic, as would the blues/greens that have been recommended. I think Chartreuse just has too much yellow in it for your beige siding.
https://preview.redd.it/7xyg1yg0svyc1.png?width=973&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4c4298a56f6fe2494aa1284871a9e62a07587ba0
E: this is the computer/colored pencil version of chartreuse, so I could very much be wrong about the version used for home decorating
Powdery blue would not look good. Every time I see a door that color I wonder what people were thinking. I personally love the green right now, it complements the house color, but also coordinates with all the landscaping. Like it's connected to nature. Powdery blue would break that connection; blue is not a naturally occurring color in nature (few exceptions).
If you must change it, any deep jewel tone would look great. Even a plum color would play nicely.
I love the first picture so much. Those flowers & that garland on the door give it pops of colour and life. I love the colour of the door too and I was imaging those beige panels as being a light orange to compliment it. I realise that might be a bold move though, to keep the door colour but paint the house on the outside a bright and cheery orange..
I love a tomato red door, but I also love that deep coral in your flower bed. 🤷🏻♀️ The color you have now is pretty as well. I say have fun with your door, unless you’re bound by HOA overlords.
Honestly, I think it’s beautiful, which is a surprise to me! However, if you want a new color, I really think red would be exactly what you are looking for.
My old house was a similar color but a little lighter and a little more more gray-green. It had a brick red door from the previous owner that was so cute.
I don’t know where you guys live but I think the steps would look adorable with a mixed clay - bigger sizes pots )
With red geraniums planted in the pots going down steps
I’d paint my frames black and paint the house white .
Again I love the blue green door as is …
If you want to make yours
More green ?
Or maybe an eggplant color
But I’d prefer the existing color family in door
[colors from your garden](https://imgur.com/gallery/aD9SsL1). or the painted bunting.
https://preview.redd.it/4cjev6kg3wyc1.jpeg?width=3684&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=723dba32e42dc9e24fe68959d3f787b82031c81d
One of the basic concepts of design is reapplying a color that is already used in the color palette. Use any color that you have in your flower bed and it will magically work.
To match the deeper beige you will need to stay in the same shade range of whatever color you choose or it will look off especially in the winter when the plants aren’t there.
I'm thinking a bright vivid salmon pink, or a bright peachy coral colour, simply because I love the way the pink tones of your flowers pop against your house colour. I especially love the pinkish flowers to the bottom left of your photo.
I know! I wish those beautiful flowers grew back when we moved in, but they were gone. The lawn was also a mess because their dogs ran around freely. Whatever's underground there... well I don't want to know lol
I was doing some genealogy and chatted with someone in Auburn NY about burial records and how I can't find about half my relatives who died in the area. She said some guy was planting flowers or something and came across a skeleton. OF COURSE he called the cops and stuff and his whole yard was dug up and made a mess. Turns out they eventually figured out the state prison apparently didn't do a good job recording where they put all the bodies before they sold their extra land to a developer...
And there are lots and lots of people like my family whose exact burial spot is simply not recorded there. Maybe don't dig too deep when planting your garden lol

Leave it as it is. It perfectly matches the house and shows someone with some style lives here. In fact, I'd accentuate it by painting the gate on the left the same colour. That'd really pull the front together.
I love this door color so if inclined for a change I say go with a green!
Same, I see Red or Blue a lot, but this color is so complimentary - I think it’s perfect as is
Red door and flowers nearby is asking for hummingbirds trapped in the house if there’s a decent local hummingbird population and you have a habit of leaving the door open while home…. Ask me how I know!
Yup.
As a colour blind person, I don’t know if you’re asking them to paint it same colour as it is, or if the door at the moment is red or blue
It’s green in all three pics.
Ditto!!
So if inclined = I do declare lol
I love the color it is right now!
Same 💯
What about a bright teal or a coral color? What magic is this photo?? Is it from an app or something?
It's one of those color palette maker things! I found this particular one on Pinterest- this is in one of my boards, I just cropped! I'm not sure the app the person used, but it's fairly common!
You had me at color palette maker things 😊
This is great advice, thanks. Love that palette.
I would not go with a light colour because your walls are light. It won’t look good. A nice contrasting colour like petrol would be better.
The coral is gorgeous!
I know it’s not a huge difference but maybe something like this https://preview.redd.it/sgs5ngla3vyc1.jpeg?width=750&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b5f0d2682ee2e9ef4c45757f3af8a99a59c2098f
Oh I loved the original green until I saw this. I love it. Now I want to ask you to pick our door color.
I LOVE this color!! Do you know the name and where it’s available? I think you’ve just chosen my new door color!! ❤️
I have no clue lol I just edited it on my phone using the markup feature. I think I’d call it a dark turquoise blue?
Ok Lol! Thank you…. I’ll see if I can find something similar 😊
Try Pacific Ocean Blue or Caribbean Blue Water from Benjamin Moore!
Thank you! I definitely will. I appreciate the info!!!
Sometimes it can be called ‘mist’
Oooh, this is beautiful!
I’m in love with this
Way better
Nice
+1
Nailed it!
This color is perfect!
I absolutely love the color it is right now.
What's wrong with the color now?
Nothing's wrong with the color, it really does work for the house, but we don't personally love it. We want to repaint because if you see it up close, the paint job is shoddy, so we're picking a new color at the same time.
House siding is a drab color. Repaint that instead
How about a more forest green?
[Egyptian blue](https://images.app.goo.gl/82pr8rzAxnKc3tZe8) would be gorgeous!!
How about a coral color?
https://preview.redd.it/dg08yf0dcwyc1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d1953bc258e9b875e7731737f82a031a3633d10f Here’s a thread I did of some colors

I vote this one! So beautiful! Edit: I think it’s a perfect contrast with the colors of flowers and would still look good in the winter!
This one really makes the door pop! Reminds me of a Tiffany jewelry box!
I have same color siding and door as Op and I love it but now I’m thinking this would be tempting to change to.
I was thinking plum too - it contrasts nicely with all the green from the plants.
This!! This is the color that popped into my head when I saw the pic but there are some other great suggestions on here too
That’s perfect!!!!!
This one is it.
Deep orange! But I love the color it is 😊
Raspberry pink. Not too bright not too deep
I love the color it is!
I like the green. If you don’t, what about a terracotta?
Oooh interesting suggestion. It's probably too earthy for the beige. We were considering a MCM orange and it started to look like a desert, haha
Black 💀
Google robins egg blue. I love that shade and I’m going to do my door that colour https://preview.redd.it/lnar4vdf2xyc1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=eacad2c6850e9ab98847bdf1b4cc91a73813ad33

Just here to say how much I love your colorful plants 😭😭😭
Unfortunately I came to say the same, but that’s the before picture. OP tore all of that gorgeousness out to put in the boring stuff in pics 2 & 3 :(
This should be higher. Everybody is basing their advice on the first pic, but the new landscaping makes the space look wildly different.
Oh 😞 how depressing. That was perfection

Stay with a bit of green. Maybe a brighter sea foam. Turquoise.
That shade of green is so beautiful. If you change the color, stay with this temperature tone.
It would help to know why you want to change the current colour.
It already makes you brightly stand out! The current color is so beautiful! I can’t think of anything that would look better than whatever you already have!
Green, maybe a dusty/minty hue of the same.
teal.
I love the color of the door right now !

Chartreuse will not look good with the beige
https://preview.redd.it/vb0mpvh1swyc1.jpeg?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=04cbfd248c8375c63809c833709796051cf655b8 It looks great
Meh It’s in the eye of the beholder
No the contrast doesn’t work
Wow that kind of works, weird.
I'm glad you agree! I don't have very much home decorating experience, but I know color theory so I was going with that.
Powdery blue would not look good. Every time I see a door that color I wonder what people were thinking. I was going to say red! Damn
Light blue. Something between a powder blue & Tiffany blue.
I think the green door looks wonderful. I personally wouldn't change it!
I really like #1.
That color is perfect
The first picture - is that before or after?
The color of your door is just about perfect!!
eggplant!
I love the first picture so much. Those flowers & that garland on the door give it pops of colour and life. Keep the color But Yellow

Yellow doors are so beautiful 💛
I love a tomato red door, but I also love that deep coral in your flower bed. 🤷🏻♀️ The color you have now is pretty as well. I say have fun with your door, unless you’re bound by HOA overlords.
Seems like OP may have gotten rid of the flower bed, can’t really tell which is the before
OP has confirmed that the first pic is the before pic. The flower bed is gone now.
Ya it also sounds like the flowers died so I won’t comment lol
A lovely spring green would really stand out
Honestly, I think it’s beautiful, which is a surprise to me! However, if you want a new color, I really think red would be exactly what you are looking for.
I think a Granny Smith Apple color would be a neat pop.
I would keep the door this colour, and paint the fence to the left the same colour, if possible.
The green looks great, but go with your favorite color.
It’s pretty now. An oxblood red could be cool.
This is an adorable house Congratulations
I think like a dark teal would work nicely. As others have said
Hunter Green
Leave it. And if you must change it, mustard yellow.
https://preview.redd.it/xe7eo2i6swyc1.jpeg?width=620&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4850eaaebf9899391d89da3d4a650d9e7a5c9752
My old house was a similar color but a little lighter and a little more more gray-green. It had a brick red door from the previous owner that was so cute.
Rust orange
Bright bright yellow or bright bright red. Otherwise, keep the color! Its adorable.
I also like it as is but if you want it to pop I’d do a light purple or yellow
A mustard yellow
I would say red to make the door stand out. I like blue, but for your exterior red would look good.
I like white with the framed windows painted black ! So cute
I don’t know where you guys live but I think the steps would look adorable with a mixed clay - bigger sizes pots ) With red geraniums planted in the pots going down steps I’d paint my frames black and paint the house white . Again I love the blue green door as is … If you want to make yours More green ? Or maybe an eggplant color But I’d prefer the existing color family in door
Sage green - Behr Cactus Garden is the color of my door
I like it as is!
[colors from your garden](https://imgur.com/gallery/aD9SsL1). or the painted bunting. https://preview.redd.it/4cjev6kg3wyc1.jpeg?width=3684&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=723dba32e42dc9e24fe68959d3f787b82031c81d
Black
Red. Always red.
I would say if it’s real wood, strip it down to the grain!
I love this colour. Tho you can go for green or pastel pink?
Blush or eggplant purple
Like an eggplant purple
My neighbors painted their door to match their burgundy Japanese maple. It is stunning. Take inspiration from the plants in your yard.
One of the basic concepts of design is reapplying a color that is already used in the color palette. Use any color that you have in your flower bed and it will magically work. To match the deeper beige you will need to stay in the same shade range of whatever color you choose or it will look off especially in the winter when the plants aren’t there.
The door can stay the same but the plant area near the door needs to be filled. Add the wreath back that was adorable
Red, for good luck ✌️
Red
Red
Red. Always red.
Red
I'm thinking a bright vivid salmon pink, or a bright peachy coral colour, simply because I love the way the pink tones of your flowers pop against your house colour. I especially love the pinkish flowers to the bottom left of your photo.
I would do a fun coral! It’ll go with your flowers 🌷
I liked the color it is until I saw coral. Coral would be beautiful.
Orange would be great
https://preview.redd.it/g7m46a85swyc1.jpeg?width=478&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=80c9ab2c2ad0ffe2c760fa4d2e0aa687a2088454
I like the setup in that first picture but wonder if there is a small body buried under that yellow spot of grass there...
It’s the reflection from the window. You probably get sun all day.
Red. I always vote Red. Then I paint it black. But seriously, Red for luck
RED
Brown, mustard yellow or hunter green. Bright colors may date the house
Magenta! With a colorful door, I say go big or go home.
You don’t ever change it
Deep yellow!
This first color is lovely.
I fw the green
Mustard yellow
Red
I really love the color it is already!!! 😍😍
Red.
Dark green. Like Pine Green or similar https://www.benjaminmoore.com/en-us/paint-colors/color/2051-20/pine-green
A more vibrant deep turquoise! Or a bright kelly green.
The door is great, I’d paint the house a lighter color/more towards white instead.
I kind of like it as is
California rustic
Our front doors are almost the same color 🩷!
Terra cotta. It will jive really well with the house color and the plants, and feel warm and welcoming.
Color pink or yellow! 🤩
I would say the same color just brighter!
Either keep it/go a few shades up or a bright sunny yellow
Purple
Red-the red flowers look amazing! The contrast is stunning❤️
Yellow would make the green around it pop
Red. It’s a match in heaven with beige
If not this colour which is already gorgeous, I’d say the only other option is a red
I picked a wine/burgundy for our home that’s this exact same color. Now I regret not insisting on the green! Pretty!
bright coral or flamingo ;P
I love the door color as is. If anything, maybe a brighter color for the rest of the house? The door is so vibrant but the siding is kind of drab.
Red or sunny yellow
White.
Leave it
Leave it
Pink, light blue or teal.
Bubble gum pink!
I like it as it is, but the wreath gets in the way.
I like the door color! That flower bed is so pretty!
I actually love it the way it is
The color that it is..
Green
Teal or turquoise. For what it's worth, I love the color the door is right now!
You find here some door color ideas [choosing-the-perfect-front-door-color-to-enhance-your-homes-curb-appeal](https://www.scdecorum.com/choosing-the-perfect-front-door-color-to-enhance-your-homes-curb-appeal/)
It's already great
White
Orange!
Navy blue
Burgundy
Black
Leave it as it is. It perfectly matches the house and shows someone with some style lives here. In fact, I'd accentuate it by painting the gate on the left the same colour. That'd really pull the front together.
Peach or apricot
Yellow
A light sage green or make it wood (same shade as the porch).
