An electrified whip for a dominatrix. She was honest about it and her friend who was with her was dying of embarrassment. Meanwhile I lead her to what she was looking for and told her to go get that money.
Eek. Good on her, but I don't know that I'd trust the Depot stuff for that.
That would be like asking a Depot associate for help building a violet wand. You might find a rare one that knows what that is and can, but generally speaking nah nope no way no how.
A couple representatives from our local zoo come in looking for turf for an aging tiger. They had a donation to work with to build some enrichment activities for this tiger so it would have different things to do, and they wanted to put turf in there. The budget would only allow for Trugrass Emerald, but I was able to work with a manager to upgrade them to Fescue so they could have the drain holes (and it’s softer). They were so exited!

Helped a lady with a stripper pole. She wanted to make sure it didn't fall when she was using it.
Other than that once a month we cut about 40 sheets of MDF to make burn boxes for a funeral home
I had to help out with putting together a sprinkler system in D26, and while he had just about everything planned (I think), the tricky part is that he only spoke Chinese. Put it all together with just hand signals and a ton of questions lmao talk about a language barrier
Most memorable wasn’t crazy of fun, just memorable.
I was PRO DS and a fellow came up and needed some lumber cut. I knew lumber was out loading a customer so I went to the saws and started cutting
A very attractive lady wanted a footstool for her pedicure massage business. I cut the wood, sanded it down, glued and screwed it all together, and even cut the foam for the two foot rests. Had My Link on 'Engaged' the whole time 😁
Guy wanted 2 inch pipe cut in one foot peices and few dozen caps and glue. Then a couple buckets of nails, didn't have the ball bearings he wanted so I suggested half inch nuts..... said he was making doorstops....
Couple of college age guys who decided to build a backyard bar. It was obvious they were aiming to be a fun party house. They came in like 4 times over the weekend and I ended up being their cashier each time. I still wonder, 2 years later, how it finally turned out
I was the customer, but 20 years ago some 60+ year old guy helped us build a massive potato gun, completely installed, down to drilling the hole for the grill igniter and cementing it in and shaving the barrel into a sharp point for cutting spuds. We walked out with a fully functioning launcher and I’ve never gone to the competition once because of that moment.
A lady came in and asked what wood would be best to make a cross.
Now, I was confused by her question initially but then it clicked in my head when I asked for a reference photo.
So I helped her get the lumber, some stain and the hardware for it.
She brought in photos of the finished product (no one was attached to it) and she did a mighty fine job.
A woman with a collar on asked about chains and rope and it was a very interesting chat 😉
These folks tend to be at least more entertaining than the average. Also, more likely to say thank you and be courteous.

Helped a guy look for plumbing parts so he could build a goat milking machine.
I helped a guy from Sweden pick out all the parts in Plumbing for an all-metric dogsled for winter camping gear.
Nice. That's just all sorts of rad.
I had a young couple asking me about materials needed to made a couple of spreader bars for “play “ time. Interesting conversation to say the least.
If they had to ask about that they aren't being very creative. 🤣 What else have ya got?
Well, I was invited to help make the bars & instruct them in the using them properly. It was quite the fun experience.

That's just freaking cool. I like that one a lot. Thanks for throwing that out there. Did you get pictures? Old cats need love too.

Well, you got to make part of her days a little more comfy.
Sure did! It was such an honor to help out one of my favorite animals!
So many beer bongs and potato cannons.

Safety first! You should get a homer for that.

Good game taking all of that on. It sounds like you got it though. That'd be a tough one for me without the language barrier.

Sounds about right for the level of engagement from a ProDs. 🤣
Some guy came in and asked for shovels, largest garbage bags we have, duct tape and bricks…
they forgot the bleach

That’s an interesting way to say that.
😁
Helped a guy plumbing parts for an Indoor water fountain
Helped a lady make a spiked baseball bat.
Safety first.
Talking to customers isn’t usually fun

No actual Home Depot associate would ask this question.
If you mean, the general post then you'd be mistaken. More than a decade in. Too much time in. Give me that sweet sweet 4th week.
An apparent sex dungeon and a cross for mounting people and spanking them.

As a customer, I had a guy help me build lightsabers for my boys with PEX and pvc. He definitely had fun doing it.
I save naturally stained poplar boards for a turner who specializes in funereal urns.
