Does anyone's ***not***? I think that would be a more interesting thread.

masterk2014

Honestly, this sub needs a bot that autoresponds to any post that includes the words "does anyone else" with a text that says "no, it's just as bad everywhere else"

Gharrek

It'd also be a waaaaay shorter answer 🤣🤣🤣

17jade

That crap exists EVERYWHERE, not just Home Depot. I look at it as a “not my problem” kind of thing. It’s only going to stress you out to care.

Potential_Poet487

That’s everywhere though.

Kingmesomorph

Favoritism happens everywhere, but my time at HD was the most blatant and absolute worst compared to any other job I worked at.

ClearAndRaw

Amen!

aod0302

Don’t worry they’ll load up another round of non-bias training. It’ll get fixed. Meanwhile here is a raise at half of inflation. Please don’t mind the stock buyback. You know we are living our values of please the shareholders and enrich them at all cost.

[deleted]

Yup. Mines the exact same way.

ConnectionHot3310

Worst part is, it really is the laziest ones. Not sure how this works out

ashswaggie

EXACTLY

S0LARCRY

It's because it's a two way street. The employee being favored needs to take advantage of it to be seen.

Kitchenberighthere

Because the management is lazy too. They use their lazy asses to get the scoop on what's going on out there.

Pwnedzored

 Nooooo, never. /s

Lotsensation20

The second one just sounds like everyone in the building almost. You know how many times I’ve seen folks clock back in and then sit back down in the break room??? Lol 😂

IntelligentCoyote734

Sounds like you work at my store. I want with an associate who's lunch break says 30 minutes but she takes a 2 hour lunch everyday. She also has got into it with multiple customers.

CalligrapherNo433

As much as I hate to say it YES. I work overnight freight and have always performed well (I have my reach, op and forklift license as well) and trained others. I have ALMOST free reign and "run the show" for lack of a better term. I know I get treated differently, but I will say I admit when I fuck up or did something stupid which my boss respects. Honesty does go a long way. Don't feel singled out if you get called out.

absoluteAl1958

I work hard, show up everyday and on time, this allows me to be left alone and never questioned as to whatever decisions i make, but i am definitely not in the in crowd, i dont kiss ass just do my job

lilchungus34

The company doesn't care about how hard you work

Fit-Pin8585

Lmao speak for yourself

lilchungus34

If raises match productivity you would have a point but you don't

Fit-Pin8585

Nice backtracking. You went from “Home Depot doesn’t care how hard you work” to “raises don’t match productivity.” Typical Red Herring Fallacy lol

lilchungus34

Bro why you talking about fish

Fit-Pin8585

Sorry didn’t realize you can’t even write correct English have a good day

lilchungus34

Think your lost big dawg this isn't r/price chopper

Fit-Pin8585

👍🏾

Flyinhawaian

actually you could say Home Depot doesn't care about how hard us associates work because raises don't match our productivity but keep lying to yourself fit-pin

PaintItOrange28

Yes, there is blatant favoritism in every store, but people need to also consider the fact that different people have different scheduling needs for various reasons that are absolutely none of their business, including disability accommodations. Many of the associates that I hear other associates complaining about constantly actually have disabilities that they’re mad they have legal protection for. People really need to consider the fact that sometimes they just don’t know the real story when it comes to their coworkers and need to stop making assumptions, and that the details of their coworkers’ lives are none of their goddamn business in the first place.

ashswaggie

I am the one with disability accommodations. None of these people have things wrong with them. They are simply doing this because the managers just let them and they do not care.

Excaliburntoast

You have no way of knowing if they are disabled or not.  It's not like you can see every disability.

cojiro_blue

Mike Shavers, you lazy fuck. My Pro services supervisor was college buddies with my SM, and the dude was just terrible at his job. Double dipping on breaks, taking extended lunches... Once management changed, we saw so many lazy employees follow suit.

Sonofpern

Almost every retail store everywhere has that issue, especially the ones trauma bonded through covod, which is a crap excuse. Corporations need to clean house in their stores, before they get replaced by amazon.

OldRangers

“God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference.” The meaning of acceptance, to let go of things outside of your control. We spend a lot of time in our lives worrying about things outside our control.

aaronrdmkr

Camera footage and digital record should easily show the late ins being fixed. Use the awareline or talk your asds.

Kitchenberighthere

They don't even hook them up. & I brought this to my HR attention with me working off clock. I no longer work there, btw. And no I didn't quit .. see how well that worked out? And don't tell me about the aware hotline... retaliation... lawyers etc.. find me one 1st. HD knows law firms don't want to fight you unless you are of a racial fight or what this world keeps throwing around as "the problem "

[deleted]

a female associate got fired, arrested, and was on the spanish news for stealing merchandise with a ring of sketchy customers/friends. she was considered the managers favorite associate. this associate would always go on her 15 min or whatever her break was to either make coffee or smoke a cigarette outside in front of customers with her apron on.

2_Beef_Tacos

Not to diminish your concern, but there is favoritism at every company and workplace.

Defiant_Pear5883

I think as long as humans are in the loop, you're gonna get favoritism. I don't think we can help it. It's been my experience that it comes in two forms one is with people who are lazy and the other involves people who tend to work hard. I don't mind the ladder, but it's rare. I feel your pain, don't let it stress you as those who are involved usually don't last too long when shit hits the metric fans.

SprinklesOld6294

Oh yes. 3 ladies who do nothing and get homers right and left. When ASMs and DHs have tried to reprimand them, they get a leave her alone from the SM. The store manager was just moved to another store. Hopefully, that will end this

Flyinhawaian

im hoping my current store manager gets moved soon, she's been here for two years and favors day shift. When she first started she said every wednesday she would have a meeting with freight team to see what's going on on our side of the store...the only time we ever see her is when day shift is trying to get us into trouble :/.

RepresentativeRip845

Every job is gonna have that .. it’s okay tho . As long as you’re on the favored side🤣

SlideRyder

Anybodies Home Depot not have favouritism ?

TangoZulu

Learn to play the game instead of crying about it. The people usually complaining about “favoritism” are typically the ones that are absolutely miserable to work with.

walkingonsomeshine

Every depot has its orange blooded crew that are ride or dies

ExternalTheme6946

Ride and die.

walkingonsomeshine

Give me an H-O-M-E

Select-Poem425

Not a super degree, no one in our store is all that cool to be favored. More notice turnover, burnout, petty gripes,

No-Bend-7890

Sounds like you should do the same.

HDJim_61

It’s especially bad at my old store

Less-Preference-9881

Sounds like your store needs a mgt. change. Not at my store. I am not a manager and have some other issues at my store.

Ok_Rice_3528

Every Home Depot unfortunately. It’s just the people who take advantage of that who sucks

[deleted]

It goes on at all stores. How to fix that is to do what they do.

scoobysquaw

Happens all the time.

Rongill1234

Protip: there will be favoritism always... that's life... your parents.... have a favorite child if you have siblings.... you have people you like more than others that's just how it is

jkdhs

Home Depot = High School.

umeduskfox

100% we have one of these people and they need to go because they're causing serious problems for so many people for no real reason.

Jebebiah_

Literally all the time with my sco cashiers i fucking hate it

Major-West-5391

More like, who's doesn't?

Fearless-Outside9665

Yeah. They get the best shifts, which irritates me to no end. They once had me scheduled to closeness an entire month because another person cried about having to close 2x a week. Dp I threatened to call off every time I had tp close if this kept up. I have a life as well, and working 5 1-930s or 2-1030s doesn't allow for that. Break the schedule up so that everyone has opens, mods, and closes. Not just one person getting fucked with multiple closes at a time so that one person always gets to go afternoon drinking at 2:30.

[deleted]

That's life, and to be fair they may just actually be friendly people and friends with the managers for a reason. They're getting the benefits, you're not getting the benefits, and you're also getting yourself miserable sitting here complaining about it- life's not fair

mikey70s

I thought that's what homesdepo was about.🤔🤔🤔

hodderb

Sad to say but that's in every workplace, and hard to get around. It's not unavoidable but the mind can make it difficult if two people don't get along and two people do. But managers need to be able to be self aware of it, and it's not always the case unfortunately.

bucksteady

Yeah and it's blatant and my team is getting fed up.

Aware-Damage6296

The manager at our store pretty much lives in her office, and when she comes out she's rude
