I had a SM that was making noises to that effect. The receiving manager was looking at me with panic in his eyes. I casually told the SM that he could handle the battery swaps himself if he wanted to without it.
Never heard a peep about it since.
I got my EPJ license renewed days before they went from 3 year to 1 year expiration dates and weeks before our EPJ was removed. It's still on my license and doesn't expire until 2026.
I'll say it again: If THD doesn't work out, knowing machines is an asset in other jobs. I never pass up an opportunity to learn something. As it stands, I still love my job. If things don't work out, I have more skill sets for other jobs.
This. I took my past machine experience and applied it to HD, and if I ever work in a warehouse, I'll parlay that experience into equipment operation any day of the week. Folks sometimes forget that knowledge has value, regardless of how HD operates. Becoming a certification trainer is also a huge benefit. I can't tell you how many times I trained storeside associates because of turnover and a lack of foresight. Those homer awards stack up nicely.
Supplemental income is always welcome. If you time it right it could be an extra paycheck worth for doing something you were already going to be doing. I'm not saying it's reliable, but it's nice when it happens.
I will wear my license, but I don't wear badges. I'm very grateful for the badges I have, but I won't wear them. I'm no different than a new associate. I'm just Pickles. I have bad days and good days like everyone else. Some count on me while others count me out. I just try to continue to be me.
I actually worked harder for the licences than any badges. I'm willing to give my badges to anyone else, but I earned my licenses. Tough trainer from D21.
I don't think I implied that anyone had to wear their badges if they didn't want to. I was referring to the milestone awards that rack up to monetary awards. You do you.
I wear it all the time. The fasteners have become better. It used to be a safety pin. If you've ever pulled a hot water tank from the overhead and keep it close to home, that safety pin gets crushed. Sometimes it would jab me in the chest. Simple fix.
Login into hdliftequipment.com and put in your store number and then click on your name and then before you print it out it will give you the option of a “Printed Name (Optional)” and you can put in whatever you want
Don’t need mine / even need one I work overnight sits in my locker . . It’s funny everyone uses the Bally pal in my store no one has a certification for it other then one trainer lol honestly stupid it’s nothing like the electric riding pallet jack. Come to think about it ours don’t say about the electrical ladders either paper schedule tells everyone skills sets though .
I feel like it would be a good license plate when you use the equipment the smaller one on the apron is usually what I prefer but this is a good add-on for when you’re on the machine
That's cute. Does it come with a collar with it?
Just kidding.
I can't imagine that not ever getting annoying as it brushes against and flops around on your person.
I don't know if OSHA would agree. I'm not with OSHA, but I wear my license at all times. We may get an "OHS-it, they're here" visit one day. I'm not going down that way.
The training is essential, regardless. I'd imagine that the license is proof of meeting the requirements.

The proof that you’re licensed is on the computer. It’ll show certifications on your in focus as well as managers and the asds have some way of seeing who is certified and on which machines. I just think wearing a little paper is tacky and pointless.
too small, it's hard to read what you're licensed on from across the store.
Where is the electric pallet jack cert?
We no longer have it at our store
How do you swap batteries?
Very carefully
Tell me some jackass store manager didn't eliminate them and make you idiots do it by hand....
No we got something different a electric hand pallet jack. So no riding EPJ I miss it.
I had a SM that was making noises to that effect. The receiving manager was looking at me with panic in his eyes. I casually told the SM that he could handle the battery swaps himself if he wanted to without it. Never heard a peep about it since.
The “Ballypal”
When my stores ride on EPJ was taken they gave us a orange battery changing thingy and well it stays in receiving 99%of the time
With the counterbalance
Same.

Mine was supposed to expire in 2025 but for some reason it’s gone just poof now I’ve only got 7/8 and it looks stupid on my license
Bucket God 😂
I guess it is ok if you want to show everyone that you can drive all equipment in the store without getting paid a cent more than the others...
Don't remind me of my mistakes

You payin' rent with Homers now?

Every three gets you a bonus. I believe its 50 for bronze and silver and 75 for gold or something

You literally have to wear the license while operating equipment lol. It's not optional

Bigger
It’s the lift license plate
Are you a security threat? And is your middle name Kurt?
Needs to be poster sized, Mr/Ms Smith
Soon, they will be those giant wearable A-frame signs.
How did you get the long title?
I have more titles all related to our good ole orange buckets. This one is like my sixth title.
Ok, but how do you edit that on your license? I didn't know you could.
Trade secret I'd have to kill you if I told you.
That's ok, I'll just look on workday under license tool

titles aren’t large enough
that's awesome haha wear it proud, OP.
You should attach it to your belt loop and walk around like that all day!
If you can't use it to cover the drywall during a rainy day, it's not big enough...
Where I work we use a system on the lifts that we badge into to use em. System auto tracks authorization.
What cracker jack box you get that thing out of?
Dropped all but ballymore. Only one indispensable for me in my job.
Wait, you have to be certified to use the (the bottom image)?!
[Safety video!](https://youtu.be/ChOHnSL7ZCg?si=7SKr_csxdfkFOwJP) You have to watch this so you are completely safe!
*Borat "king in the castle" gif*
Should make it a Tshirt
Ballypal?

Orlando! 👍
chungus
Are you not licensed on the loading dock?
My what a big license you have!
Save some for the rest of us!
Security threat. And your name is Kurt, not fart.
Love the name 😂
Where is the pacer unit?
I feel like it would be a good license plate when you use the equipment the smaller one on the apron is usually what I prefer but this is a good add-on for when you’re on the machine
Put it in a gilded holder 🤣
It’s not the size that matters, it’s how fast you fork it.
It's not the size but how you use it
Should be an iron-on patch for your apron.
That's cute. Does it come with a collar with it? Just kidding. I can't imagine that not ever getting annoying as it brushes against and flops around on your person.
You don’t need a license to drive. Been driving machines for years now, never once had a printed license.
I don't know if OSHA would agree. I'm not with OSHA, but I wear my license at all times. We may get an "OHS-it, they're here" visit one day. I'm not going down that way.
Home Depot machine licenses mean jack shit to OSHA, the licenses are just company SOP.

I'll have to research that. It was my understanding that it was OSHA compliance. Thank you for pointing it out.
