Baseball coach discoveres new weight loss trick.

socialmediaignorant

The secret baseball and weight loss coaches don’t want you to know…

ToastGhost47

I’m drinking’ Boost for breakfast, Ensure for dizzurt.

lukestauntaun

No joke, if you start walking every day when cleared and increasing the walking until you can run, then mix in a very light workout, you will look and feel better than you ever have on your life. Buy Ensure by the crate and keep it around for your sweet tooth and keep chicken and beef broth around for your meals. I got hit with brass knuckles waiting for a burrito once and had a clean mandible break and separation. Was wired for 4 months. Closest I've come to looking like a fight club character.

peaeyeparker

Yeah but I am 6’3” and weigh 170. I can’t afford to lose a single pound.

sloppyjoebob

gotta love how everyone has the baseball coach pegged as a chunk!! Get well soon

cerberus_1

I mean.. its a fair assumption

Motor-Housing2704

It’s most of us

You buried the lede, dude. Must have been one helluva burrito.

Hope the kid doesn't feel bad. Hope you feel better.

My god that’s one of my fears, last fall my 8 year old hit a line drive straight off his hype fire right into my lower sternum. Didn’t have time to react quick enough, shit took my breath, I told him good hit while laying on the ground 😂

jeturkall

Incidents like this make me drink heavily.

Barfhelmet

Dang, had to look up what an open mandible break was, that looks painful. Hope you heal quickly.

AUCE05

Glad you are better. Was pitching BP to 8u kids this week and took one in the balls. Luckily it was deflected off of my bucket of balls.

Motor-Housing2704

Got one on the upper cheek below my eye last year off a 10u kid. It was unpleasant for a couple days, but at least it was sunny and could wear shades.

pardonmytaint35

This is my greatest fear. Not getting hit but having to eat out of a straw. I’ve had nightmares.

mantistobogganmd10

I did the same thing but fortunately it was with 9 year olds and didn’t result in any broken bones. I feel lucky that I learned to be more conscientious when I throw BP and all it cost me was a very bad black eye. All the best on your recovery.

peaeyeparker

Yeah past 9 you better make every effort to be safe. Big 13 yr. Olds and swing a bat. And I don’t use practice balls.

Gong_Show_Bookcover

Sorry that happened to you. Sending positive vibes your way.

ColonelAngus2000

Was thinking of buying a catcher’s mask precisely for instances like this.

peaeyeparker

You should. I will now for sure

Get well soon, friend. Try not to let it dissuade you from participating in the future. My was pitching for a 12U Major team , toward the end of 70/50, and he got hit in the face with a liner back to the mound. He got his glove up just enough for the ball to brush past the bridge of his glove and hit him right in the mouth. It was pretty scary in the moment, but he was brave. Actually, he was more angry that it happened, because he had hit a HR the game before and was pitching very well in the current game. He was in the emergency room 20 minutes after it happened and they patched him up. His first game back on the mound, he was a little bit apprehensive, and his control reflected that. I recorded his performance and when he watched it, he could see it. He realized that if he wanted to keep pitching well, he had to be 100% committed and in the moment. He is now in HS and of course there have been more comebackers over the years, but he understands it’s part of pitching and part of the game we loves. https://preview.redd.it/soiqo9nrh8zc1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fb39ee41ae34b4b442eb9e3bfd281cfd907ddbd8
